  1. We need to keep him.

Agreed he was a little hit and miss, playing in the PL with a poor directionless team. He should be head and shoulder above most in the championship as long as he keeps his good attitidue.

Mini Mendes done for growth hormones. 2 year suspension!

31 - Been poor in his last few fights - started a new business with the McGregor money . Can't see him fighting again to be honest.

  3. Due to his serious injury I can't see a club offering us north of 10million for him. If we are strong enough to say no to 7-8 million bids (we best be!!!!) then i presume we will keep him till at least January.

If he starts the season on fire then I'll definitely be concerned a top 8 club would come in for him.

Should we let him go for a smaller fee, bare in mind RDM and co are seeing him in training every day. He might not have recovered from the injury / be a shadow of his former self (it does happen - think Michael Owen). In which case getting 10m for him might be seen as an excellent piece of business.

  4. I understand he isn't the player he once was. BUT,

The last time he was in the championship he scored 20 goals, from the wide left position. If Celtic are only going to offer 3 miliion then why not keep him? If he gets his confidence up against poorer players he could prove to be a major asset.

If he could score 10-15 goals from a wide position he is surely worth more to us than 3/4 million + his wages.

All good points. However, we do need a proven goalscorer. I don't think Ayew is that yet. Hopefully Gestede can rekindle his championship form too.

Gestede is a proven Championship goalscorer

He's already had a coaching role at the club.

If he doesn't make it as a player then I've no doubt he'll continue in some sort of coaching capacity

ohh i wasn't aware. Thanks for that.

  7. I personally think for morale, it's worth signing him to a 1/2 year deal. Perhaps some sort of player coach role? He is the perfect player to mentor some of the younger players.

The thought of him coming on in the 85th minute of a game is awesome. The reception would be deafening. The feel good factor it would bring troughout the club would be tangible.

  8. Advice / Ideas needed please.

Ok I'm 29, the mrs is 25. I do 25-30k miles a year so have a boring Astra 1.7 diesel, however its economical, and has never let me down.

The mrs has a horrific Ford Ka, which her PCP contract is up soon. As its barely used we are thinking of getting a "fun car", something to use at weekends, or when we go for days out, shopping etc. Either a convertible, or something like an Alfa Brera.

Any ideas? We are happy to spend around 10k (used).

  9. As has been said a few times, he has the potential to light up the championship like Adel tarrabt did a few years ago. 46 starts and a long season in the championship with players who will attempt to bully him could really make Adama and give him the experience he needs.

Please keep him, please play him.

  10. Spain, Italy and Germany come under just as much pressure from fans / media as the England players, so its a complete cop - out.

    1) I genuinely believe Hodgson (or whoever else is in charge) is put under pressure from corporates to play Rooney. Nike sponsorships and all that. Otherwise I can't physically understand why he is playing. he is a really good player, but doesn't fit in that system. Its like bringing a monster truck to an F1 race.

    2) Other PL players are playing fine for their countries, so don't buy the whole tired / winter break crap

    3) No leader on that pitch, whilst he is a word removed, I would have literally begged John Terry to play in the tournament

    4) Next manager should be someone with clout and experience like Pellegrini or Glen Hoddle, will be Southgate unfortunately.

Ah now that is interesting, although i cant see them being rejected. Be interested to see if they are willing to take the euro though. thank god we never took the euro about now, we would be in chaos

Spain will properly throw their toys out of the pram if Scotland applied for membership. It essentially gives more power and a green light for Baque and Catalonian independence.

  12. I'm getting a little sick of all the doom merchants. We actually do not know whats going to happen. This could be great, could be bad.

Markets always crash over uncertainty - it's normal. It will recover. The pound has dropped, but its minutely lower than it was in February (the pound artificially increased at the thought of remain winning).

Our trade will be fine. In simple terms, do you think Germany are not going to want to sell their nice care to the fifth biggest economy on earth? Do you think all countries in the EU will stop trading to the fifth biggest economy on earth.

The biggest part of this whole ordeal is who, how and the terms of the new trade deals. That will literally govern everything.

Before people jump on me, I actually voted remain.

Edit: This almost guarantees another Scottish referendum.

God that will be well too much can see alot of people getting bored with it as overkill

Indeed. A PPV should be a special occasion which people are excited for. Having one every few weeks will kill the excitement. Also means that Raw and Smackdown will literally just be filler / six man tags, as there will always be a PPV for the main matches around the corner........ ugh!!!

You say that all that matters is goals and assists but then you cite Andros Townsend as a player to produce both. Tut tut.

After sitting on the bench at Spurs for a year and a half, once sit he supplied 4 goals and 2 assists for Newcastle in 7 games... Good enough for me.

  15. I couldn't care less about dribbles completed, passes completed and saying stuff like "he had a decent game" etc - the only stats that matter are goals and assists. Lallana and Sterling lack both. Drop them - The end.

I still can't believe Andros Townsend isn't in the squad.

I'm fairly certain, in terms of PPV, Lesnar is the biggest draw the UFC has ever had. The man is an absolute beast and accomplished a great deal in his relatively short MMA career.

Given the nature of this agreement - the WWE not paying Lesnar enough and thus Lesnar will be allowed to compete in the UFC, it would make sense to give Lesnar a few stiffs before he steps it up, such is his economic power.

Lesnar was technically released early by the UFC - Technically they could have stopped him competing with the WWE until his fights were done. Obviously his illness made that impossible so they agreed to his early release. Don't be surprised if there wasn't a small stipulation in there that if all parties agreed the UFC could call upon him if required.

  17. What will happen the AJ is the same that happened with Owens.. When KO was called up he had the ability to be a super top level heel. They let him beat Cena once, then Cena literally buried him 3 times in a row. It's took KO a while to recover, however there is still a feeling of lost legitimacy.

They need to grow 'The Club' into a proper faction and thus bring in more members. I can't help but think that Cena will end up burying AJ and The Club as things stand.

I still think the play is for Finn Balor to arrive, and theres a power struggle to be the head of "the club". Balor v Styles is a wrestlemania worthy match.

Unfortunately what will probably happen is Cena will bury AJ, and take out the whole "club" with a firemans carry.

WWE need to use the money advantage and give NJPW an offer they cannot refuse to licence the 'Bullet Club' name. Calling them 'The Club' is growing on me a little but only through necessity as they are likely going to go on to be the next 'Shield', if it irks me now it's going to be unbearable in 6 months if I don't get used to it.

Probably won't use the phrase Bullet Club due to the PG nonsense.
