clear and obvious does not work with offsides iirc as offsides or onsides is a factual decision.
Well, it's factual if you have a frame exactly as the ball makes contact with the player playing it. But we don't have that, and a lot of things can change between frames (see Diaby goal last week).
60fps, with a stationary defender and an attacker running at full pelt means there's a good 15cm+ of movement between frames. Double that if the defender is playing an offside trap and moving in a direction opposite to that of the attacker.
Given that, it's not a factual decision like they claim it is.
Edit to add: this is discounting the utter nonsense these days of whether a player is active, or whether it was a different 'phase', both of which are entirely subjective and seem to change on a weekly basis.

Ah well, we'll learn from that and batter them at home instead. Long way to go in the groups lads.

The best team won and the Europa Conference arrogance might disappear now
We were never going to walk this tournament. Idiots booking hotels for the final
You're an idiot not to book if you had any intention of going. Free cancellation is a thing.

Indeed but the fans who followed the team and went to watch that garbage are the ones who the club will have no matter what. Heck and the club can take them for granted.
Not necessarily if they keep taking the piss.

All none 3pm KOs next season will be televised i believe. Its an extra KO to spread them about i think. Its not the worst KO in my opinion.
Does that include the ones that are moved due to Europa/Conference on the Sunday?

It's craftily worded with 'food and drinks as part of the package', but my assumption is that it's just access to food and drink, and there's an all-you-can-eat buffet. Theyd make a far bigger deal of it if it was fully all-inclusive.

It says drinks included - the * means *Alcoholic beverages available from two-and-a-half hours before kick-off and up to one hour post-match.
It doesn't say drinks included.

This season I kept the ST (after a lot of deliberation), but am missing the Everton game. Bought the reasonably priced European games, and will probably go to any other matches as it's a novelty.
Next season I'll save myself a grand+ and spend more Saturdays with my kid - year on year price rises are noticeable, but mostly just feel like I'm not wanted anymore. Be sad to lose it as it's a great seat. Maybe I'll start going again when we're shit again, I'm not cut out for following a 'successful' club (if you class finishing 7th once as success).
It'd be nice to bow out with a trophy, it's been a while.

Clubs care about social media clicks, international noodle partners and TV money. The local fan is the least of their concerns. These are, in most cases, billion pound businesses but people seem to think they should be concerned about whether you buy a pie at halftime or not.
It's be interesting to see where we'd have ended up without the useless local fan when we were playing utter shite under Lambert and then in the Championship. Because they sure as shit wouldn't have sold many fancy bollocks packages.

Maybe this creates a chance for some of the local pubs to reopen?
So many have closed, possibly they would become tenable again with many fans shut out of some of the new hospitality areas?
Mind you, from what they're saying they might look to open some of the local pubs themselves.
That'd be nice, just don't think there's the demand round there that makes it viable, they'd only really have custom 20-25 days a year.

Thanks for reporting OBE. Sounds increasingly like my sort aren't wanted anymore. God forbid the normal fan should get somewhere to sit and have a drink before or after the game.

On the Upper Holte food and drink issues yesterday I saw all 3 people in one of the lower Holte collection points just standing there waiting for someone to come to them with a drinks ticket. This was 20 minutes before kick off.
The pre pay kiosks really do make an enormous difference. The absolutely should have done this in The Upper Holte when making changes.
I'm also amazed they haven't regardless. I'm sure they must make more money. My lad almost always has a pint before the game now. Absolutely no way he would do that when it was 20 deep at the bar.
The lower Holte options have improved the chances of getting a drink, but two annoyances from Saturday. First, my old man pre-ordered a pint and the machine said there was a printer error. He called over help who got him to order again when fixed. He said he's already paid for it, but there's a printer error. The staff insisted he won't have been charged. Guess what, charged twice.
I went the other way to the self-service thing which worked great, except it seems that it charges you a quid just for entry! I know it's only a quid, but again it's just an extra bit of taking the piss. Makes a pint £6.80 or something.

So do you think this is a new unforeseeable decision, or something they deliberately withheld from people before they renewed their tickets?
Things on the pitch are great, but they they do off it **** stinks. I'm hard pressed to think of a company I do business with that treat their customers with as much contempt as this lot so.
While they're spending millions tarting that up, maybe they can get someone to unblock the piss troughs for the plebs.
Coming soon, toilets that aren't flooded with piss, only £25 a game with a special commemorative wristband.

At Spurs and Brighton to my knowledge (maybe more) they reopen the concourse straight after the game for food and drinks
Never understood why the bars don't open after full time, even for 30-60 minutes. I'm sure a good few people would stay and have a pint, not like you're getting anywhere fast at that time.

I think we’ll field a strong side and show the competition respect. I think his first start will be in the League Cup vs Everton.
I don't think a midfield duo of Tielemans and Dendoncker would be any disrespect to the competition in fairness. We're going to need to rotate a bit, and they're two expensive Belgian internationals.

The bad news is they probably did some market research and saw that those concourses are dead 2 hours before kick off and 1 hour after kick off
The new facility now isn't
Its not necessarily about more people through the doors or even for more money it's getting people in to VP earlier and longer
Always said there needs to be more offerings to get people there before and after the game, but was thinking more like a semi-permanent marquee or two on the car parks with a few tellies and a bar, which everyone could access. Build up a bit of atmosphere. There's nothing for the regular fan at the moment, just shit beer, shit service and crumbling facilities. I just think the current owners are taking this massive demand as a given - this is the exception, not the rule. For most of the last 30odd years I've been going we've struggled to sell out. The numbers are soft if the football goes south again, and doubly so if you price out half the city.

What’s the problem? It’s just a form of hospitality. If you can afford it and you want it you’ll do it. Many people who can afford hospitality still don’t do it . It’s not expensive at all for hospitality.
If it's a new facility I don't give a shit. But like taking away half the upper concourses, they're just taking what we've already got and charging through the nose for it, leaving less for the normal fans. Pay more, get less.

£70!! What a joke.
So the plan is to gouge some people for all they're worth, then stick the rest of our prices up for worse and worse facilities.
Almost look forward to when we're shit again and struggling to get 10,000 through the gate because they've driven all the long-haulers away.

People say that they long for the days before football sold out and stopped being the working man's game, so our owners bring the rivers of piss back to the Holte End, and people still moan. Just can't win.
Don't mind rivers of piss if they charge rivers of piss prices.

Was pissing into an almost overflowing urinal in the Upper Holte today. And then the hot tap didn't work. Dust still everywhere too
Lower holte bog floors were an inch deep in piss too. They really need to address the facilities, rather than charge more and more and make it shitter. Non-flooding toilets is a pretty simple thing to have surely, we had them in previous years.
And yes, I think we're all getting a bit pickier with the facilities, but that's what happens when you start charging serious money.
Edit, so I guess my question is, do we just need to accept scum-class facilities now, or are the club going to do something about it?

Ref was looking at that penalty decision for us today for 2-3 minutes. Now to me 'clesr and obvious' means if you see it once at full speed, you'll see the error. It's absolute bullshit. And it's just happened again for the Newcastle handball. It was a harsh handball, but it's hit his hand, so how is it a clear and obvious error? It's a subjective decision. We're back to where we were at the start of this farce, of VAR trying to referee matches again. If we're gonna do that, let's just **** the bloke in the middle off and be honest about it. Absolute joke, ruining the game.

Some of these players that sounded like good squad options are absolutely awful. One more injury to a key player like Watkins, Martinez, Konsa, Luiz or Kamara and the season fizzles out.
