Not sure what Pep is unhappy about - I think that's got to be pretty close to bookable though - you can't just follow a man fifty yards wagging your finger in his face.

No idea why refs put up with it. Someone wags their finger in my face like that they're getting told firmly to **** off. Should have sent the cheating prick off.

Grealish and deano have a legend status

It's pretty hard to define what 'legend' status entails, but I'd put one of the key ingredients as being universally liked/thought highly of. I don't think anyone that splits the fanbase can really be a 'legend' since half the fans don't even like him. In the same way that Martin O' Neill is not a legend, despite what Amazon Prime footage says, because loads of people hate the bloke.

Modern 'legends', I guess people like Petrov and Laursen come closest, pretty much universally adored by the fanbase.

Unless there is an injury from now until the end of Jan. We dont need to sign anyone.

I see where you're coming from but disagree - I think if the players are available, even if they cost a premium in January, we should be making acquisitions with a view to next season. We've seen what this guy can get out of players given time, so I think anyone we buy should be seen as a player for next year and not someone that's going to come in and start many matches this season. Give them a few months to bed into the system and learn from the master.

I’m absolutely gutted couldn’t make the game.  Not making same mistake for Saturday. Hopefully another similar atmosphere.

Same mate, missed that one, missed the Brighton match last season too! Half five kick off against arsenal, usually a good kick off time for atmosphere as people have had a few pints. If we start the game like we did against man city it should be a cracking atmosphere. I'll be tanked up in the Holte End doing my bit anyway.

I've never felt such things - joy at the football, lust for this handsome Spaniard, but also I've discovered my inner hostage taking impulses - he may never leave. Sorry Unai, you're too good.

Kids these days often support players rather than clubs, apparently. I think I might have become a die-hard Unai Emery fan.

I rarely rewatch a game but I’ll be watching this back again later. This time I’ll do my best to absorb the tactical masterclass served up by Unai, it’s such absorbing stuff and he’s single handedly got me interested in the finer tactical points of the game. I thought I knew a bit but I’ve learnt so much more since Emery came in.

It really is an education watching this bloke's team. He's something else. Any other manager in world football would be a disappointing step down now. We have the best keeper in the world and I genuinely believe the best manager in the world.

  7. Played well. Looked good with the ball, a couple of times when he was getting closed down he wasn't afraid to play it long. Didn't have many shots to stop but when he needed to claim the ball he looked assured. I'm not his biggest fan but this will do him the world of good, and I assume he'll get another go in Bosnia. Good for him.

  8. I thought the little one-two he did before playing a pinpoint ball to Diaby which the keeper saved well was one of the best moments in the match. Love Catty Mash I do.

The lack of urgency in the final 10 minutes was infuriating. We could have sent the kids out in Bosnia had we got a 3rd. Now we have to make sure we get a point.

Maybe, but go for the third and end up drawing and it's out of our hands. I fancy us to get a point against Zrinski, Emery obviously does too.

  10. Good that. Could have won it by more. Second half we absolutely bossed it and had our chances. Delighted to see good minutes for Ramsey and especially Moreno (despite the 'get him off' shouts after 20 minutes in the match thread).

Rubbish ref. Yellows for nothing, never heard of playing advantage.

Didn't go tonight as I've got a stinking cold so decided to stay home. Hope everyone gets home safe.

  11. Well, I don't think a single villa fan would have guessed that lineup. Konsa paired with Lenglet instead of Carlos, Luiz and McGinn both starting and no Watkins even on the bench, all seems wild. Certainly didn't expect Olsen. But, manager has earned our trust and then some.

It's definitely increased and it's obnoxiously loud. I ain't an old man yet, I love my music, blast it in my car, on my headphones, stood next to speakers at gigs and clubs for a decade and no doubt done myself harm.

I don't want to be objectified to someone else's music at 2pm on a Sunday when I can't even have a conversation with a friend stood right to me.

Absolutely **** obnoxious and another example of people in the club who just don't get it.

Last game of last season, monumental win and huge anticipation of the final whistle, a huge build of pressure and I'm just wanting for the whistle and the roar of the crowd and the chanting and the singing and the fist pumping...

..cut to some gimp immediately pressing play on sweet Caroline at the final whistle.

    Damp squib.

They absolutely do not get "it"

It's as bad as goal music. Drown out a period of natural celebration with some shite.
