  1. It's funny that the self-proclaimed 'greatest league in the world' is an abject failure when it comes across teams in Europe able to 'slow down' play and make our best clubs look poor.

    Also happens in international football.

It'd make a really interesting experiment to take four or five clubs from Spain and play them in the PL for a season. I suspect they'd take most teams apart and dominate with football that's too slow.

  2. I'm really getting tired of Villa.

I'm tired of other teams having decent football to watch.

Why can't we have one or two technically gifted players to watch?

Why do our players have to be cloggers like Sinclair, Gabby and Gestede?

Well, he should go where he can get back-to-back games, A run out is the only way he'll fulfil any potential he has. Good luck to him, I hope he does an Albrighton.

I think it's been reported a few times that we started introducing relegation clauses into all staffs contracts a few seasons back.

Knowing Randy it was more money for the inconvenience and an additional two-years to Gabby's contract.

I think that lineup could have done with a bit more attacking intent but I just don't know who would provide that.

Gil has been poor, Grealish looks uninterested and I still don't think Adama is all he is cracked up to be just yet.

Hopefully this is a keep it solid, try and nick one, first half approach with a more attacking approach coming later in the game. Its risky but so is going all out and losing the game in the first half.

Compared to the rest of our dross he really has not.

This is how I see Lerner's ownership of Villa:

A man decides to start collecting records in the hope of being able to make it so good that he will be able to sell the collection for a big profit in years to come. But, after so long he loses interest because the price of records is getting out of hand. He puts his unfinished collection into the loft where he leaves it until a rainy day when, he hopes, someone will come along to give him what he paid for the collection so that he doesn't end up out of pocket.

    Man buys club.

    **** it up.

    Can't get what he wants.

    No need for clever analogies.

To be fair, I heard Spurs are in for him. Apparently, the Groundsman said that Gabby did such a great job of replacing the divots at WHL during that first half earlier in the season that he wants him back on a permanent basis.

Does everyone agree that he should no longer be club captain?

What difference does it make? It's just a total made-up non-job. Like President of Jupiter.

  7. Thing is, no set of supporters ever 'deserve' relegation. Any more than they deserve promotion or trophies.

Our club is in the middle of a serious identity crisis. The players train in state of the art facilities all week and then turn up to a 40,000+ stadium and can't cope. I sometimes think they'd play with more freedom if they practiced on a boggy field all week and turned up to a stadium like the sty.

Added to that I have felt absolutely no connection with any of the players for years now. Where are the Mersons who buy into the club? Gabby is nothing but an engineered 'Mr Villa'. He doesn't give a crap. Our players seem to either not want to be here or seem scared to death of how big it is. I don't see any middle ground.

Relegation could be a blessing and if the writing is on the wall then i'd rather it happen early and in spectacular style so we can experiment as soon as possible to see who amongst our squad has the desire, application and ability to get this club back on its feet.

He's crap. If he's our saviour, God help us. Barely moves off the ball, and very easy to defend against. Couldn't hit a barn door from 5 paces. Hope to see him and several others moved out as soon as possible.

No chance, unless we end up paying at least half his wages. The club's policy of rewarding abject failure is lamentable.

Forget analysing games trying to explain that we need x wins or have to be within x points, we are down. Relegated . Not good enough for this league, seriously there are not three worse teams than us,. There are no worse teams than us. We are bottom , we will finish bottom and deservedly so. We may not even get 15 points. We are horrendously bad and everything to do with us screams negativity and awfulness

  10. The results this past few weeks are looking a bit odd. it's like the end of the season where 'lesser' clubs drag results from games they really should not have any right to win/draw. Practically every team in the league looks capable of getting points.... bar one.

I don't understand the idea that declaring all out 'war' on religion would lead to common sense; religions thrive on persecution and common sense is entirely subjective.

Judeo-Christian religion is based on tales of persecution and most of the bible is either about the persecution of the Jews or the persecution of Jesus, and then the subsequent religious texts are about the persecution of the saints and the glorification of martyrs.

It seems very unlikely that the disappearance of religion would mean that peace, love and understanding, would suddenly break out.

We would be forced to to invent other reasons to justify why others should be oppressed or murdered so our greed cult can go on unabated.

As I stated in a previous post, 'War' is in inverted commas. In no way would I condone persecution.
