  1. Why would anyone want a sponsor??

Because it's what the players training tops look like!?!?

Would you buy a home shirt without a sponsor? I wouldn't as it's not a replica if different to what the players wear.

  2. Think the training kit looks quite nice on the players. Saw it in the shop and wasn't convinced, but I take it back!

One thing though, why do the training tops in the shop not have Genting on them, when the players ones do?

  3. Called into the shop to check out the new shirt. Gotta say I wasn't that impressed. The blue doesn't look bright enough to me and the material reminded me of the Hummel kit we had back in MON's first season. The little details were nice, like the AVFC embroidery, but I won't be buying one.

For those interested, they've got some training wear in. Two or three tops in a choice of colours, again pretty un-inspiring. Training wear is pretty much the same price as last years Nike stuff. Quite surprised by this as thought it may be a bit cheaper. Fair enough the shirt will be a standard price, but can't see many people paying £30 for a Macron training shirt.

  4. Like the look of it so far. Seems as if we've binned the checks after a couple of seasons?!!? Unless the away kit carrys on with them.

Agree that Macron seem to be making an effort which we never had from Nike. Quite looking forward to having a change of supplier.

  5. Remember my first game was against Oldham in the 92/93 season. Had been begging my Dad to take me or ages. Was in the North Stand upper and will never forget walking up what seemed like a hundred flights of stairs to see Villa Park in all it's glory. Turned round to my dad and went "aaaaawwwwww dad!". Had Villa in my veins ever since. Grounds changed a bit since then. Still miss the Trinity facade but overall still get that buzz when I go through the turnstile.

  6. I was in the Nike executive box for the Arsenal game and spoke to a couple of guys about our kit. There response was that "Villa don't sell enough shirts to justify their investment in designing a custom kit" He went on to say that there was a teamwear deal on the table from Nike. This is a deal similar to the like of Doncaster and Peterborough where we would be supplied with a basic kit template in our colours. Stoke and WBA have a similar deal with Adidas.

He also said that Nike weren't overly bothered about applying us in the first place and that they were "bullied into it by the American owner who wanted an American company to supply the kit"

He went on to say that Macron were pretty much nailed on to be our kit supplier next season

  7. Just got back, thought Bannan and Ireland were our star men. Dunne was excellent when he needed to be. Was impressed how he kept possession in a couple of tight spots.

Anybody else who went to the game notice how reluctant our midfielders were to have a go? Ireland was probably the most guilty. Looked as if we were trying to walk it in on ocassions.

Doesn't matter how you play in the cup as long as you win. Another home tie in the next round please!

  8. Rubbish game! OBE trust me mate it really would nit have been a deserved victory in the slightest I'm afraid

Agree with your player ratings OBE but how you can say it was a decent performance is beyond me. Yes the ref lost control, yes Heskey's hissy fit was pathetic, but Wigan out-played us. We let the pop the ball around in the second half with only NRC getting a foot in. No changes from G Mac said it all. It was as if he accepted that there was nothing else he could do. For me, Petrov should have gone off, with Delfouneso coming on o play with Bent.

One final thing, how many more times do our management need to play Ash in the hole to realise he's shite there!
