  1. I've heard it all now. Slagging our player of the season so far. Some people....

Did you miss his run when he ran about 50 yards, holding off a couple of players before having his shot blocked?

It's not slagging off though. I like Delph but am just pointing out what he can improve on.

I wonder why some people come on these forums sometimes?

You obviously are though! You said he offers NOTHING in the final third. Delph has been brilliant so far and of couse there are things he can improve on. Just find it strange that you're knocking him when there are others (Weimann) who have been really off the pace.

  3. I think he's just trying too hard. If Benteke wasn't injured I think he would've been dropped. It's only his 2nd season in the 1st team and think a break would liven him up, trouble is, as Paul C mentioned, it's not as if we've got quality queueing up to take Andi's place.

  4. Not getting the over reactions on this thread. Taking the Spurs game out of the equation, we have had a decent start considering the fixtures. Look at the league table, if someone would have offered us being 1pt behind Man United after 5 games we'd have snapped the arm off.

I'm not worried even without Benteke for a few games. I think Kozak will do a decent enough job with Gabby supporting him. Talk about relegation this early is plain ridiculous.

  5. Rush was brilliant. Any F1 fan would love it and the sound of the cars is brilliant in the cinema.

Very good how you start off thinking that Lauda is a bit of arrogant "arsehole" but then actually feel sorry for him in the end. Both actors played Lauda & Hunt superbly getting their voices and mannerisms down to a tee.

    9/10 for me.

  6. The midfield three, selected from Sylla, Delph, Westwood or El Ahmadi, are all too alike. None of them really have the defensive awareness to protect the back four and neither of them is a real goal threat or has a killer pass.

Said exactly this today. Just look at Sissoko, he was a man mountain compared to our midfield. We have no physical presence. Sylla is the only one I can think of who could add a bit of bite.

  7. To be fair to Weimann, he isn't a wide forward or #10. He is basically a glorified poacher with his instinct in the box and his composure in front of goal (though he doesn't even seem to have this anymore) being his main strengths.

    This.

I like Andi's work rate but he's got to up his game now. End of last season I gave him the benefit of the doubt seen as he played pretty much every game and it was his first season. If anything, I think he's trying a bit too hard at the moment.

  8. We're too reliant on our fullbacks to provide width. It's no coincidence that when Luna and Lowton have poor games we struggle. It's also why we dont keep clean sheets as they're expected to bomb on, and cover which is why we get exposed,

I'd go 4-4-2 with Tonev and Gabby wide. I'd then have Benteke and Helenius/Kozak up top. Weimann needs to be taken out for me. He hasn't been "on it" for a while.

  9. Going to see Rush after the game tonight. Looking forward to it. As an F1 fan, will be interesting to see if its a film you have to be interested in F1 to enjoy. Not really sure what to expect. The reviews are good, but I've seen plenty of bad Motorsport films. Off the top of my head, Senna is the best by a mile, but that was more of a documentary.

  10. Yeah, about that, what song was it for Liverpool? I forget.

Think it was right here right now by Fatboy Slim.

I like the Foos music, but not when the Villa come out. Glad we've changed it

  11. Rented This Is 40 and End Of Watch this weekend.

This Is 40 was pretty good. Classic Paul Rudd film and billed as the sort of follow up to Knocked Up. If you liked that, you'll like this one.

End Of Watch was great to be honest, even if the ending was slightly unbelievable.

  12. I've got a guy behind me who shouts "snap him" when any player runs at our back four. I'm going to end up snapping him at this rate. Quite a few day trippers round by me yesterday, one guy who pretty much filmed the whole game on his phone...why?!?

  13. Great day out all in all. Atmosphere from us brilliant as always. Particularly enjoyed the "Aye Oh, Aye Oh, it's up the holte we go!" Sounded great. The old ones are the best ones.

The Emirates is up there for best ground in the country for me. Great view and a modern stadium with a bit of character. Shame the Arse don't make much noise!

  14. We are selling Darren Bent to a team that has beaten us three years in a row. Real smart!

Let's just give our nearest rivals a proven goalscorer at 5M, that is awfully good business after all.

Good luck to him though, always been a fascinating goalscorer and will probably score goals at Fulham when he will get some games. He leaves Birmingham for London and gets to play for a better club, so he isn't losing out much. Only thing is playing at that old cottage they have down by the river bank, awful place indeed. Been there a couple of times, always afraid of the floor giving up under me.

Again, I think it is a travesty selling him to them. If they beat us with 3-4 points come the end of the season and they have scored 10 more goals than us, we can only blame ourselves.

    Not really.

Bent does not fit in to our style of play and a high earner that we can't afford.

Not ideal selling to rivals I agree, but I think Fulham will struggle. Any team with Bent, Berbatov and Taarabt up front will put a lot of pressure on the rest of the team defensively. Their work rate is pretty much no existent.
