You're right Villarreal are a team in a very small town, which kind of makes my point valid. They have a 22,000 capacity stadium which they don't fill because their town is so small..

Nah I lost my mind there for a second, my apologies - I just had to interact with some one form our Marketing team and I could feel the braincells evaporating!

If you ever find the chance, get a game in at El Madrigal - it is different.

Just a stat to put Villa's size and pull in perspective for those who think Emery and Amorin wouldn't be interested in us .... Villarreal home attendance average last season 17,000+ .... Sporting 25,000+.

    A literally meaningless stat.

50,000 people live in Villareal, over a million in Birmingham. Villa would need an average attendance of 300,000 for this comparison to work.

The work permit thing doesn’t make sense to me. It’s like any other transfer isn’t it once the main negotiations have been sorted we usually come out and say “subject to work permit”. My guess is he is still trying to make his mind up.

i can't lie, his spell at arsenal does concern me a bit but there is no arguing against his record anywhere else. he's basically guaranteed silverware.

Arsenal were cancerous, their fans insufferable and that squad was pish.

With that in mind Pau Torres sticks out like a sore thumb and would walk into our team... In my opinion of course!

Yes I thought about mentioning him. A partnership is of Diego Carlos and Pau Torres…..

Pau Torres is from Villareal. That little town is not like all the others. Their ground can almost hold the entire town (adults). He has been there for 20 years - Barca, United and Chelsea have all tried and failed to get him out of there.

  5. There's not much in football better than a left sided attacker/dedicated winger when glued to the wing. Bailey was outstanding. Having some one as composed as Ashley Young behind you can't be a bad thing either.

Hopefully this is the springboard he has needed. Mind you he's had more than Tom Daly at this stage.

£6m a year for this FFS. Football nepotism needs to die a swift death.

Sadly it'll only be reinforced. Gerrard strolls into Sky/Bein/ITV/NBC.

I’ve always believed the manager head coach should be Paid more than the players. I’d be happy if they made him joint 3rd highest paid after Klopp and Pep.

As others have said £15m a year will seem like a pittance if he gets us to Europe and then CL in a few seasons.

Only very recently did I learn that Diego Simeone is raking in at least 30m euro/year. Bonkers.

Surely it’s time for an election, this is funny purely from the point of view of laughing at the Tories, but the country has been rudderless now for months

How impactful does it feel listing from one sinking Tory ship (Boris) to another in Truss? From the outside, it's really funny but sky rocketing interest rates are no longer comical when they affect one's salary.

Maybe jts also because of when he dug out Pritti Patel as well.  This FA don't do rocking the boat, as shown by the choice of manager .

Didn't he dig her out because of boats rocking?

A good report here for those wondering why the mourning was not universal.

It's a mindset shared by many of the UK's nearest neighbours too. There's few tears shed in Ireland. Ultimately, however ceremonial the position is, the  head of state title remains.
