Mcginn, Bailey and Watkins cannot be moved out their position i think any of them can play for any of top four clubs (see what i did there 😆) we build around those guys this summer with superior quality,

Bellanova isn’t looking like hes good enough for me but i could easily be wrong and im looking for someone who is a significant upgrade on Cash and its not clear that he is. Emery can work magic of course.

Someone mentioned Xavi Simmons theres no way we manage to sign him but he would go straight into our team, we need a martinelli type player on that left side dangerous and consistent, eventually rogers may hit that level but not for now. An experienced CM to battle Luiz would be fantastic also.

I can confirm that Xavi Simons has been a great signing for me and a brilliant replacement for the outgoing Jamal Musiala, on a certain footballing video game 😉

For the record, Ismael Bennacer has been a rock in the Kamara role that last season too. Maybe we should look at him?

If we're spending £70m on a player, it shouldn't be a centre half.

Unless you consider that the most urgent requirement in our team is to bolster our leaky defence?

What if Unai and Monchi think of it in this way..... Sell Luiz for £90m which leaves room for Tielemans to play from the start and use that £90m to buy a star centre back? The net gain is we bolster our defence greatly and level out in midfield.

  3. I can see Villa bringing in Wilfried Ndidi from Leicester in the summer. He's available on a free in June and he plays a position we need cover in - defensive midfield. He won't have to relocate and should settle in fairly easily with having Tielemans here.

  4. Lenglet and Zaniolo will go back. Need to get Dendoncker, Coutinho, Hause, Chambers off the wage bill. Loan out or sell Iroegbunam, Kesler-Hayden. If we bring in Hermoso on a free I can see that meaning Digne leaving and we should be able to get money for him after the season he has had.

Hermoso would cover the departure of Digne and Mings would cover the departure of Lenglet. We have Nedeljkovic coming in to challenge Cash for right back. Ramsey and Buendia returning will fill the void left by Zaniolo.

If we can somehow bring 20-30 million in from sales, surely that will give us money to spend in the market?

Definitely need another holding midfielder to see us through to when Bouba returns.

    Martinez - Olsen

    Cash - Nedeljkovic

    Konsa - Carlos

    Torres - Mings

    Hermoso - Moreno

    Bouba -?

    Luiz - Tielemans

    McGinn - Diaby

    Bailey - Buendia

    Rogers - Ramsey

    Watkins - Duran

What/where needs replacing/improving? Olsen? Cash? I am not sure about the Baena links. Think it could be lazy journalism. Also, it seems like he plays a position we have plenty of cover in. Holding midfielder (Ndidi?), better back-up keeper (?), better starting right back (Frimpong?) may be the only recruitment needed?

  5. Moussa will be absolutely fine long term. He's produced this season and it still looks like we need more from him. He will only get better and, in my opinion, he's earnt the right to have time to show us what he is really made of.

  6. Leon is playing some phenomenal stuff for us. He's clearly injured and playing in pain, but that's not preventing him from producing fantastic displays.

  7. Bailey moaning at Watkins for not telling him he was offside. Diaby was running at the ball so surely he knew? Crazy from Leon to take that ball when uncertain about being on?

Ollie too desperate to get that 20th and cost Dougie a tap in.

Got to keep our heads because we can get this back for sure.

How in McGrath's name are those lines straight? If they're drawn at the correct angle that would be offside.

  10. I don't know where to put this do here goes.

What would be your starting eleven from our current squad if everyone is fit? Mine is:

Martinez, Cash (or new RB - NOT KONSA), Konsa, Torres, Digne, Kamara, Luiz, McGinn, Bailey, Rogers, Watkins.

Who do we need to replace in the starting eleven? Not based on tonight - over the whole season?

I'm suggesting Cash (not sure defensively), Luiz (think we can find as good or better for half we'd sell him for).

    In my opinion, we need:

A new - better - number two GK, new Right Back, back-up DM for Kamara, back-up striker to Watkins, and maybe someone who can play the Luiz role for half the price we'd sell him for?

  11. Gonna be tough if this goes past 90 minutes.

Maybe Omari Kellyman will finally make the impact I'm hoping for from him and score the winner in extra time:

"Soon may the Kellyman come to score and save our European run"

This is fighting talk from Moussa and I hope that means he and the rest of the players are up for it. He needs to be bringing his A game after comments like those.

  13. My prediction is Villa will score in the first 20 minutes. Olympiacos will level it and Villa will get a second, all before half time.

Second half, Villa come out and get an early goal to level the overall score. Olympiacos will attack like crazy and we will hit them on the break to go ahead overall. Before the final whistle we will repeat that and win 5-1 on the night. Ollie hat-trick and one each for Leon and the moose.

Edit: I forgot to had the interesting bits.

The ref will book a dozen players, send off both assistant managers, give them an 85th minute penalty that Emi will save, and play an additional 3 minutes over the allotted injury time of 7 minutes due to Emi's game management, in which Olympiacos will hit the bar, post, and have one cleared off the line via an overhead clearance from Matty Cash.

  14. Even if the unthinkable happened tomorrow with a loss for us and a win for Spurs, Man City and Arsenal winning today means that the Spurs v Man City game will be huge.

If Citeh win next week and Arsenal fail to win away at Man Utd, Man City would win the league on the Tuesday night if they win away at Spurs. They wouldn't miss that opportunity. Even if Arsenal beat Man Utd, Citeh would still need to beat Spurs to keep the advantage going into the last day.

    Fourth is ours.

  15. I hope we have Emi and Pau back for that second leg. We need to be stronger at the back as we will need to throw a bit of caution to the wind.

Let's be respectful to our team. We all know that Olsen isn't a great back-up keeper, and that Dougie isn't in his best form. But, we went to Arsenal, top of the league, and won 2-0 against a team that's scored against everyone this season. Get Emi and Pau in and we could score 2 or 3 at least out there, especially if we go into that game with a 10 point cushion over Spurs.

We are still in this. I'm not giving up on them. How much for El Kaabi as a back-up striker to Ollie? He's a decent player.

Stupid. Lenglet shouldn't have let it run out for a corner in the first place.

Lenglet did touch it so should've kept it in and every opportunity too. We're paying the price for not having Emi and Pau in the team. We need Pau on for Lenglet.
