  1. I wonder where Ljajic will end up after getting attacked by his own coach last night on the subs bench. He sarcastically applauded the coach after being subbed, which is stupid, but the coach lost it. Fiorentina sacked the coach straight after but I still think he will omove on. Hes got bags of talent but hasnt always played for the team and people have questioned his attitude. He was supposed to join Man United a few years back before going to Italy but visa problems meant it couldnt happen

  2. I'll stay on Sky's schedule, otherwise I'll suffer the same fate as tomzep! Plus I've enough going on TV-wise that keeps me occupied through the week. That might (in fact that will) change once the football season finished though. I'll watch the Euros but the Olympics can kiss my shiny metal ass.

we tend to like a lot of similar stuff on here, what else are you watching during the week?

Im in korea atm so there could be a million great shows but thsi thread is my only way of hearing of them out here. On th eplus side I have incredible download speeds and Korea has zero interest in copyright law

  3. haha not quite but a lot of the teams have quite a sneaky vicious streak. Not man enough to do it properly but a fair bit off the ball, and with awful refs sometimes even right in front of them. This weekend our stirker had his jaw broken and needs an operation, everyone saw the blatant elbow besides the lino standing right there or the ref

  4. Yeah the standard is far from decent but I find the whoel unpredictable nature of it quite amusing. Yes there are better and weaker teams in the league but sometimes its hard to tell. I love how Zicu, a short, slow, slightly overweight romanian has come over here and plays like Puskas

  5. And he'd try and tell us to be happy with it after.

Thouygh I think villa coming out here would be a great move. The Premier League is huge here, much more so than just being on TV. Kids were jersey all the time, theres pitches everywhere and every fixture gets a decent amount of coverage. Theyre just crying out for a reason to support a team besides man united barca and real

  6. lLee Dong Guk was last seasons player of the year, he had a forgettable spell at middlesbrough a few years ago. Matt Mackay has just moved out here from Rangers. Most of teh foreign players tend to be nomads from South America or eatern europe to be honest.

Dalain Atkinson did have a spell out here and is something of a legend for his off the field habbits, lets say he didnt taske the league too seriously.

Id say the best players out here would be mid to lower table championship sides

  7. Bixente Lizarazu, every time I watched him play he seemed to be doing things otehr full backs could only dream about, he was just rampaging forward he was an all round footballer. His height may have been an issue though so thats why Id have liked to have seen how he got on here.

Maldini and Batistuta are two great shouts, Id add to the Serie A list by saying Baggio, He could have been another cantona type figure for some team

When I was younger, one player who I though twas made for this league was Kluivert, but he turned out to be a huge disappointment. The kid he was at Barca seemed to have everything

  8. So while im living in Korea im going to be writing for bornoffside.net about the K-league every week, but Ive decided to also keep a blog about my local team Deajeon Citizen

    www.aseasonasacitizen.blogspot.com

It started as just a blog about my adventures but now I know the team and league better its getting more tactical.

As a bit of a background Daejeon Citizen are awful, probably the worst team the league. The league as a whole is about league one standard but DCFC are quite apart from that and this year is the first year the league has relegation.

We play in a 45,000 seater world cup relic stadium with an average attendance of about 4,000. Lsast seen saw half of the first team squad sacked and banned for an involvment in a betting scandal, which after they were sacked saw the reaminign players go on a record 19 game winless streak. This season has seen 25 new players join but with 5 games, 5 losses ad 1 goal it looks bad

  9. Id say there isnt too much to see in Daejeon but its a great base as its on all major train and road routes as its right in the middle, no where is too far away. Let me know if you head back this way and I'll try and help you out

  10. Sorry if this goes slightly OT but last year in wolverhampton a guy tried to mug me with a knife. I hit this kid, and knife still in hand I jumped on top of him and carried on hitting him making sure he wasn't getting back up. there were two police officers walking around the corner who promptly arrested me. after explaining what had happened and after 5hrs in a cell I was told that had obtained cctv footage from a chippy over the road and as such my version of events had been collaborated. however, my first punch was 'self defence' the rest was 'excessive force' so I was charged with assault. like my case, one would hope that sometimes common sence would prevail over the letter of the law.

I hope nothing came of the charges. After the first act of self defnce did they expect the attacker to just walk off then? Of course he wouldnt, the continued fight was just more self defence
