Given that the team is basically his in every single way, on and off the pitch, this seems so stupid it’s actually hilarious. There’s surely no way another manager can come in and get a song out of those players - they actually looked like they might stay up too
They didn't, they just lost to bottom of the league while the teams above them all won.
They were as good as relegated last week but the decision to sack him is still bizarre.

Think Newcastle will survive.
It would be very on brand for the prem for the villains to succeed.

Great signing if he's up for it.
Where will he fit? Infront of McGinn and Luis?

Does seem to be element of running on the pitch at times after goals and stuff. I remember when you went down in 2004 you were charging onto the pitch Scotland at Wembley style and ripping the goal posts down. Think same happened when you went down from championship a few years later and game had to be called off?
One other thing I was going to say is surprised there's been no talk of expanding Elland Road. Obviously a cracking atmosphere when you're playing well but I went past it on the train the other week and it's looking very tired from the outside now. With the car parks you have plenty of space to expand two of the sides and just putting extra tiers would get you over 50k (and you'd comfortably fill it being in premier league). Would've thought that would've been something you'd announce to continue momentum unless your board are looking at sites for new ground?
In the planning phase to go to 60k gradually, the South and West stands in particular feel about a century out of date.
Based on us surviving this year first though.

Kasper has the pain threshold of a 5 year old. Man's lucky to have survived that one

In general, I think a footballing fanbase is much the same as any other. I don't think Villa are better than others groups of fans by any stretch, there are saints and scumbags in most stands around the country.
Having said that, Small Heath, Leeds and Millwall do make up a trifecta of utter wrong-uns. There will be exceptions, but the way they embrace it and bask in their thuggery ensures they attract more of it than other clubs.
Think we play up to it because we've been forever branded as 'dirty Leeds' and embrace it.
Also **** off out of the prem stopped us getting sterilised by the big money and attention that comes with playing in it.

Surprised he's jumped so quickly. I'm sure he could have got a better job if he waits around. Going to Norwich makes his first challenge getting promoted again next year instead of any objectives this season

Suprised he's gone when he has, not sure who else is available?
A lot of dud managers out there who have managed to get their name around through publicity alone (Fonseca etc) but legitimate managers capable of improving a team in this almost good enough state are slim at the best of times

5 years from now Newcastle and City are spending 200 million on the next Ben Chillwell with their dirty money I'll probably be checking out as a fan of premier league football. Go off and support a Harrogate Town or York City at least I'll have some top quality FM saves

Lewandowski is something else
Decent game this
Grealish needs to learn to read a ref, got away with it at villa but he won't at this level or the CL, he was getting **** all out of him at the start and he'll get **** all out of him come the end, being petulant and moaning won't change that, has to adapt his game to suit
He's at a different level completely to Kane.
Kane's lack of mobility is too big a hindrance to everything.

Do you think half of Messi's goals should be struck from his records because how shit La Liga teams are?
I reckon those La Liga teams would put 5 past Gibraltar too

If so we would have sold him June 1st as it was Purslow didnt accept the bid until the last minute
Football doesn't work like that anymore though
The way it has been talked about by both clubs and player the idea of a deal had been in place for weeks or months prior.
-
Are you suprised there's been no other business this window? Do you think you need more?
I thought you'd go mad when you sold Grealish considering your backing etc

What on earth has he done to warrant being a £30m signing?
Does he even get in the side over Harrison or Raphinha?
Nope.
It's a proper bizarre one.

We are apparently in crisis but Leeds with 2 points from 9 including a hammering at the bitter rivals i suppose are doing fine
Exactly, glad we see it the same way

He'd have been great at City. Pointless at Utd

I think Nat Phillips didn’t get anywhere near enough respect for stepping into that Liverpool side and how he played, especially from Klopp to be honest.
Should be £5m though.
Klopp was very, to a point of parody praising his performances.
Every week was almost word for word 'can we talk about Nat Phillips I mean wow what a guy wow done a really really super super job for us'

He has the get out card of "they play in Europe".
It's probably the worst excuse going.
The Champions League is less competitive than the Premier league.
The idea that a player needs to be on the pitch when you roll Roma 6-0 for experience over a 1-1 draw with Everton is pretty funny.
Their are about 6 competitive teams in world football outside of the Premier league at the top top level. Who cares if you're playing Chelsea, City and ManU every week but don't get to play Bayern?

apparently he has a bad knee injury so will miss the start of the season anyway and it's a re-occuring problem
Can't be that re-occuring he was ever present last season

am i correct in my belief that Ings is a super hard working striker?, kind of in the mould of Watkins? (not as fast, i just mean in work rate)
Im sure i heard he works his socks off.
Southampton play an insane press. He's probably harder working.

I don't think he's worth selling at all, replace him with maybe 2 players? You maybe get a slighter better overall squad and finish 7th instead of 8th this season? Cool I guess but for me I'd take the worse team with one of your own.
I.e if we were in this situation with Phillips I'd rather keep him even if it doesn't make any sense as far as 'progress'

He's been great at the club, irrespective of how dislikeable he is as a person.
Sort of like how Leeds bang on about how Bamford should be in the England setup, even though the guy is and always will be a world class bell end.
Pretty different things entirely tbf.
One is a a racist, team mate wife shagging full kit rocket polisher.
The other got one of your boys sent off one time.

Very suprised you're all so positive about it.

I stopped posting on Leeds related things well over a year ago, probably March last season. That we've been absolute shite this season doesn't change whether I'd have posted or not
