Best penalty stopper in the world, has to be?
As long as gloves off Ricardo lives, no.

Martinez is absolutely shit. Is a 40 year old Tevez a worse option here?

Luke Moore has one of those years surely

Could Acuna be the worst full back to win a world cup?

How many games that went to ET ended in penalties? How many of those games were goalless in ET? In this WC and in tournaments in general?
Sometimes seems like teams just go though the motions a bit. Bring back golden goal?
Add an extra ball every two minutes

Surely a yellow for Messi there?
Nah.
I'm absolutely sure Messi could walk into the penalty area lay down and refuse to play until they awarded a pen and they'd agree to it.

Did you see the behaviour from Netherlands to cause that?
Argentina definitely instigated everything

French win coupled with Parisian arrogance is desireable?
As somebody who is never going to Paris, and knows no French people i couldn't give a shit.
Argentina's Netherlands antics filled me with enough salt for the rest of this tournament

A final that's actually worth watching?
**** me I never thought I'd see the day

Have Villa been linked with De Paul?
We almost signed him under Bielsa.
He's fallen out of favour at Atletico so wouldn't see it as that crazy a signing for any prem team now

There ha ent REALLY been many upsets that actually mattered in the end. After the 2-1win, Saudi went out and Argentina reached the final, Brazil reserves lost to Cameroon with France reserves losing to Tunisia.
Yes Morocco managed to "Greece 2004" their way to the semis but here we are with a final many expected.
What, did you think we had a Japan - Morocco final on the cards for a second?

The thought that crossed my mind is Southgate being Southgate didn't want to chuck Wilson on and go all out attack knowing that of we scored we would be imbalanced in extra time
Grealish coming on meant if we did score he could at least keep some sort of shape for the 30 minutes
Pragmatic till the end
Probably an unfair assumption
I think Kane was probably an issue there.
His work rate isn't cracking and it only gets worse as the game goes on. Into extra time he becomes a traffic cone but you can't take him off because he's still capable with the ball at his feet. So you leave him on, and try to make up for it elsewhere.

This topic isn’t about Kalvin Phillips.
You must’ve missed JG’s man of the match awards for England then?
Mate.

Not even a Manu fan would have Rashford over Grealish, completely different level of player with completely different skill sets. The game was crying out for a player who can create, if Grealish was french he would be on that pitch from the start and we would be dreading coming up against him.
None of this is true I don't think.
ManU fans would not want their in decent form winger to be behind a man who has really never played well at the highest level.
Where does Grealish start for France? The only argument you could make is Dembele but when you're a counter attacking team with a Giroud up front why would you want a player of Grealish's profile?
He isn't quick and isn't a goal threat. He'd only make sense if France played with Mbappe up front. But they don't.

He has so much ball playing talent, but the pace and the physicality of the PL will nullify his skills, and even in the Spanish league he is known to be injury prone.
We need strength and pace as well as ability, and our money needs to be spent on that basis.
These sort of takes are genuinely 15 years out of date.

Calculated high brow ball by Poland.
6 at the back, show no intensity so you don't get booked and trust in the Saudis.

The subs from Poland tell me they're playing for this.
The nuts on the Poland manager must be **** enormous

I'm an absolutely massive Arjen Robben fan too but his peak was probably too short lived/he was always injured
