  1. delph certainly likes to get stuck in, although hes still rash when tackling. not to worry, NRC was like that in his first season, racked up loads of yellows but became more disciplined in his second season. im sure delph will learn to be more responsible defensively, both in challenging for the ball and positioning. i think he would be more suited to a box to box midfielder rather than pure DM, because im not sure he has the build to play that role. hes pretty skinny. and i wouldnt want to waste his attacking skills anyway. he is already miles ahead of nrc and sidwell technically and in passing, and he has the skill and confidence to run at people and go round them. hopefully once he gets a run in the team he can start getting some more goals as well. i think if we play him it has to be in a 433 at the moment as he hasnt got the defensive responsibilities down yet. but id prefer that anyway- delph, petrov and milner in midfield has a mix of energy, tackling, experience, creativity and all 3 are very good on the ball. gabby plays better upfront on his own and we are not carrying a passenger in either heskey or carew.
  2. entertaining game but my god for most of it we were appalling we had a 5 man midfield, costing nearly 50 mil and we couldnt string 2 passes together. its been the same the last few games. the passing and movement off the ball is dire. also the constant attempt to get it wide at all costs is annoying. there was a moment in the second half that summed us up. ash had the ball on the right touchline, he had several players infront of him, not much space down the line. he had delph unmarked in loads of space 20 yards inside calling for the ball. so what did he do? tried to go down the line and lost it. thought brad should have done better for both goals. both heskey and carew were cack. delfouneso deserves to start with gabby i think. he provided a spark when he came on again and his movement is good. pleased for stan to get the equaliser. he works his socks off for the team and i think hes a good captain. hes been in the wars a bit lately and has been struggling with an injury. a few other look to be struggling a bit lately as well. milner looks knackered. MON needs to rotate before the final and warnock can **** off moaning about that linesman. he gave several wrong offsides that would have given us one on ones
  3. all we have is get it wide and bang in a cross hoping for something. absolutely dreadful. the midfield 5 cost nearly 50 mil and we cant even string 2 passes together. what do we do in training?
  4. our passing and movement off the ball is pathetic
  5. lovely ball by delph, unlucky slip by jimmy
  6. we have to match palaces workrate, we were getting outbattled too much first half we also to keep the ball far better. we have 5 in midfield so why we are playing direct to heskey or getting it wide and lumping in crosses when we have noone in the box i dont know. making them chase the ball will also tire them out.
  7. heskey should have done better. corners and free kicks have been much better today though
  8. excellent. good delivery and a very nice header
  9. this is very poor. we have 5 in midfield and yet again cant string 2 passes together . all we have is get it wide and lump in an aimless cross to heskey who has 2 around him and wouldnt score anyway. they want it more than us at the moment. not good enough at all
  10. would have taken a point at the start, and 4 points of man u this season is good... but, given we had a man advantage for over an hour the performance was a disgrace. just like against spurs we made no attempt to win the game. whenever we have to bring the attack, create we are clueless. yet again resorting to aimless balls for gabby to chase or for carew to head. for all the money hes spent on midfielders (over 30 mil on ash, milner and downing) we are woeful in possesion. what do we do in training- we cant even string 2 passes together. MON said at the start of the season there is no doubt we have lots of goals in us. he repeated it a few weeks ago when people started to get concerned. but we still dont look like scoring, still dont create enough. and i dont like to single out players but i hope that is the last we see of sidwell. hes just not good enough. i think carews finished as well. looks nothing like the guy from last season. downings form is a worry but hopefully its just the being thrown straight in after injury catching up with him. on a positive note delph did well, can find teammates with a pass and actually shows some movement. we looked better with him in a 5 man midfield. cuellar is fast becoming my favourite player. hope stans achilles isnt too bad, we looked even worse when he came off!
  11. this is pathetic. i dont care its man u. we are playing 10 men and yet they are spending more time in our box than us in theirs. what the **** do we do in training. the money hes spent on the midfield and we cant pass the ball!
  12. get it sorted villa!! we're playing 10 men ffs. keep the ball, pass it around and tire them out. i dont expect us to be sitting back and playing shitty hoofball all the time. it will be pathetic if we blow this chance to beat them
  13. brilliant from brad, dunne, collins and cuellar. stan also got stuck in and didnt give the ball away when he got it which was nice. i thought luke young really struggled, and was worse than cuellar in possession gabby also worked hard but spent most of the game chasing balls lumped down the line. held it up well. had no service in the last 20 mins. we were poor for the first half and played better the first 15 or so mins of the 2nd half. but after 60 mins we were pathetic. no attempt to win the game at all. MON has spent 40 mil on the midfield and yet we created nothing. milner, ash and downing in particular kept giving the ball away. after last week at fulham where we kept it on the deck to work openings today was to back to aimless hoofing. lump it up to carew (who was poor). we also kept going wide and isolating our own players so we kept losing it. the few times we did play through the middle we looked more dangerous, so god knows why we kept trying to cross it at every opportunity. unable to produce a plan B again (despite us having the players and ability to do it). oh and spurs werent exactly brilliant either. like us their main tactic is to lump it to the big man and get balls into the box. difference is crouch wins a lot (often because hes fouling the defender) but his knockdowns are very good to be fair. we were woeful and yet they couldnt score pleased with a point but not happy at all with the performance and lack of creativity again. thats now only 1 out the last 6 prem games where we have scored! that is not good enough for the players we have and money spent. a few players also look tired/not fully fit or are out of form (petrov, milner and downing) and yet no rotation again. hes gonna have to at some point or we are gonna go into the carling cup final with a knackered team
  14. spurs are doing a good job of forcing our wingers wide and isolating them to get the ball back. it doesnt help that we are so eager to get wide and play into their hands. the few times we played through the centre we had the dawson handball and gomez had to make some great saves from milner and gabby. we need to do this more second half
  15. not really, thats us. yeah weve been disappointing today no doubt and are not passing it, but spurs are just as bad. all spurs are doing is pumping it long to crouch who then either fouls the defender to win the header (seriously he gets away with so much) or falls over and gets a free kick.
  16. another soft free kick for crouch. shame the ref misses that every time crouch jumps he is pushing down on the defender. and a great save by brad
  17. this is poor, totally incapable of passing the ball. every time we get it its coming straight back.
  18. im not liking the ref so far, given some right soft free kicks to spurs
