Yes, Gordon is chummy with Mandy and Mr Campbell now. :winkold:

It's a bit of a catch 22 for Man. City, sign more players particularly attacking and those already at the club in those positions will want to leave. And we've seen with us signing Dunney, those players leaving will go to rival clubs here and abroad and will challenge City.
I think the one area of the team where they're really weak is in defence so major money needs to go there imo.
-
Correct, just like last summer they'll be some decent pick ups leaving like Dunney. Would happily have Onouha and Ireland in our squad for next season.
And if they're spending 200m + what happens to the likes of Given, Hart, Lescott, Bridge, Kompany, De Jong, Barry, Adam Johnson, Adebayor, Tevez, Bellamy? All half decent premier league players last time I looked.
The problem with Man. City is the mentality of the club, not the actual team imo.

do people really expect to see Petrov go from Captain virtual ever present to bench warmer? I expect MON to make changes in other areas personally. He clearly rates Petrov a lot higher than most on here.
Yes but at 31 and if we're going to continue playing 4-4-2 next season can you really see him lasting the full season as he was knackered by March this season and he'll be a year older.
-
Selling Young, Beye and Shorey will leave us with Warnock and Cuellar as our only full back options. Oh dear.
And selling NRC and Sidwell would leave us with Milner, Petrov and Delph who's broken until Xmas as out central midfield options.
I think I'd like us for once to actually sign some players in those positions first before actually selling some of those players.
-
And Craig Bellamy is a VT obsession for some reason, the guy is 31 this summer.
Robbie keane's around that age aswell isn't he?
Rather have Bellamy if I had to choose.
-
My hunch not ITK
Richards Man City or the Bulgarian full back we went in for before Young
Ireland Man City or Parker West Ham
Dorrans Albion
Striker 100 per cent will sign a striker they went for Doyle 18 months back but were quoted 10 million I just wouldn't rule it out but he knows we need a little bit of magic to go with everything else .
I wouldn't be too unhappy with that.
Not a huge fan of Richards but at least he's decent going forward at right back and can play centre half if required although it's not a pretty sight.
I'd have Ireland over Parker simply as we need more creative ability in the team and Ireland I think would cost less especially when you consider the board we'd be dealing with at West Ham.
I'm not sure West Brom would sell Dorrans this summer, wouldn't send out the right message so that one might have to be revisited in January.
And the striker....Doyle, Rodallega whoever, we must find someone who can contribute at least 10 league goals. Gabby and Carew both do it but we don't have anyone else.
-
Ireland, Benayoun or N'Zogbia please who are all creative and can play wide or off the striker. One of them.
Probably another central midfielder as a long term Petrov replacement.
Above all else, a new quality striker, no idea who.
And probably another full-back, someone like Onouha.
-
Still can't believe the form Xerez have shown, they were on course to have less points than Derby did a few years ago a while ago.
-
Very very interesting league next season imo.
-
Well done Spurs.
Also I think they are better off when Palacios isn't playing. Beat Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City without him with good performances.
Yes I agree, Modric centrally has done very well for them.
No Jenas either. :winkold:
-
I'm not but 9 wins I think from their last 11 league games is quite simply incredible so fair play to them.
Could still finish above Arsenal aswell.
-
Hasn't Platini changed it anyway so it's more difficult for teams from the top leagues who finish 4th to qualify so I could see Spurs getting Lyon or Sevila possibly which would be tough for them.
-
We didn't win a game between February and May last season with Barry an ever present so far too easy to say we'd be top 4 if he had stayed.
That said a midfield trio of Barry and Petrov holding, Milner getting forward like Lampard and Downing and Young on the wings does look like a good 5 man midfield to me....
-
I hope spurs finish 3rd now, would be hilarious!
No it wouldn't.
Spurs will struggle in the qualifiers if they get someone like Lyon, not sure if they'll be seeded?
-
Yes that's why I'd try to give Bouma a run out at the end. Certainly rather see that than have Beye as an unused sub.
-
Hopefully we're winning the game comfortably 2-0 or 3-1 and we can then bring on Bouma for the last few minutes.
-
Well done Spurs.
Honestly thought they'd struggle to even finish 6th when they had a dodgy spelling around Febraury by drawing with us and then losing to Wolves but their form in the league since then has been amazing, don't think they've drawn a game in the league while we've drawn plenty and that's been the difference really.
-
We still need to win to finish above Liverpool so I can't see loads of changes.
Agree on Bouma getting a late run out. He's played a fair few reserve games so it's not a case his leg will drop off as soon as he comes onto the pitch and he'll get a tremendous reception in what could be his final game.
Certainly rather see him on the bench than Beye.
-
Hope they start Viera, he'll pass out before Petrov!
-
Barca should sell him for 50p and sign Torres.
-
Man. City as I've always had a soft spot for them due to when they were relegated to division two and were still getting 30 + k crowds.
-
You can forget about ever finishing in the top 6 if we get Mark Hughes.
Pretty sure he finished with Blackburn in the top 6 on limited resources!
I think today's misinformation is the start of it. Why would a couple of news sources do an article like this if there wasn't some sort of hint from MON that he was considering leaving. I remember last year there was an article on Phil Brown leaving, it was balls but a couple of months later he was out of the job.
I think it's more likely MON will walk in the summer now.
-
Disagree, Liverpool would be fcuked for years if they missed out on 4th this season and would start to have to sell some of their big hitting first 11 players like Mascherano and Torres and the likes of Gerrard and Carragher are getting old now. And their youth system is total rubbish.
I couldn't see them challenging top 4 for a couple of seasons so that would be one contender knocked out for next season.
Please tell me when to stop laughing at SHA

He was exactly what I expect, hardworking and runs around a lot but clinical finisher he isn't.
