Geertruida would give us cover at RB/CB and DM. Allow us Konsa/Geertruida as RCB and then Torres/Carlos as LCB as well as playing him at RB or DM. 

Covers three positions with one signing. 

I’d also look to beat Brighton to Gourna-Douarth from Salzburg (pick up Karim Konate whilst we’re there)

Bring in Zanioli to cover for Buendia and then get Gouiri for that LW/IF position. Gouiri can cover for Watkins too. 

Two major signings, a loan and two possible youth prospects and we’d be good to go. 

Also, what’s this about Carlos, have I missed something, is he linked away?

Burnley linked to PSVs Johan Bakayoko. Hoped we’d looked at him as he’ll be a star in the future. Plays on the wrong side for us though I guess (RW).

Bailey reminds me of Ross Barkley, was amazing at one club, got his big money move, big contract, big wage and just knocked it down a few gears.

He’s on £100k here and I don’t think he’s showed enough for that personally.

I’d chop him in and get a younger option, someone like Cherki or Bakayoko (PSV). 

Not sure if mentioned previously but perhaps there is a chance we’ll see him this summer. Perhaps that’s why Pau is at LB, to cover whilst we get a replacement in or cover until Moreno is back.

If we can shift Digne and Coutinho it would help from a FFP perspective surely.

Send him to Ajax and swap him for Kudus with a bit of the A. Ramsey cash we get off Burnley. 

I’d like Gouiri possibly instead of Chiesa, sorry @Jas10, mainly as he can cover for Watkins up top as well as out wide left. He’s a consistent scorer too.

Kudus or De Keteleare would also be good as competition for Buendia (he can be our backup keeper )

I think we might wait on the RB and back up keeper.

If Digne goes, a sneaky bid for either Truffert or Maatsen perhaps.

Two more decent attacking players in and I think we’d move for a top eight challenger to a top four challenger. 

Kudus would be a good pick up but looks like Brighton are in for him.

I always said we wouldn’t sell him but if we can’t guarantee him game time the deal makes sense. 

The old Villa would have just sold him but with a buy back clause we’re in a win win situation.

Look at the Xavi Simons buy back for PSG, smashes it at PSV and they get him back a better player and cheaper than market value.

Archer is a dangerous 'penalty box player' but the rest of his game isn't sufficient to earn a first eleven place yet (imo).

Duran is a prospect but he's no where ready for regular first eleven duties. Bailey or Diaby may be able to fit in up front if Watkins is injured, but it would change the dynamic of the team without Watkins 'off the ball' work rate.

So we need another option.

Ferran Torres has made it clear in the last few days that he will not leave Barcelona even if they try and force him to.

Joao Felix has said very recently that he wants to go to Barcelona, and that he loved being at Chelsea for a few months because they were a "top club". With the greatest of respect to Villa I think that he wouldn't see us as a "top club" at this moment in time.

I'm surprised Jonathan David hasn't had more of a transfer buzz about him, but the 65 mil that his club reportedly want for him may be a reason for that.

Which leads me back to the player I keep banging on about Brennan Johnson. I think he could become a key part of our front three rotation very quickly and I'm sure we could get him. He might not be a popular choice on VT though judging by previous responses.

Any more names to add to a speculative list? 

He plays on the right though.

I think we need someone that operates on the left. I’d go for Gouiri at OGC Nice or the dream would be Chiesa. 

I can see us adopting a 433 or 4141 at times this season, especially if we see another wide player come in. We’d therefore possibly be playing three of them at the same time.

Assuming Ramsey and Buendia are preferred out wide I’d go Kamara, Luiz, Tielemans/McGinn.

If it was just the two though, n a double pivot, it has to be Kamara/Luiz for me (at the moment) but Luiz has some competition in Tielemans I think.

If we do get decent dollar for him no one has snapped up Truffert yet, although I did see his name mentioned a while back but can’t remember which team it was.

Kerkez to Bournemouth is a bit of shrewd business on there part. 

I like Maatsen at Chelsea but think he’ll stay there now Poch is there.
