Nico Williams release clause is 47m (allegedly).
That’s still doable if Emery’s keen.

This confirms he’s a no go.Be interesting to see if there’s a release clause in there somewhere and how big it is

I think we’ll give both City and Arsenal a good game, with us perhaps getting something out of Arsenal.
With the exception of Liverpool Emery has a good record against the top sides.
-
I’d like us to box a bit clever. Bin off Donk and Chambers and get someone in that can cover DM/CB/RB well (Geertruida).
Even if we pay them 75k we’d be quids in as Donk and Chambers are on about 140k combined.

Bailey you said it yourself! Who can we get for the same money or less to replace him, that we can be confident are an improvement? I can't think of anyone.
Johan Bakayoko?

Only the 115 mil release clause
Doesn’t mean we have to pay it though, rumours are Man Utd are interested. Surely if they’re in for him we’d be worth a look too, especially with Emery at the helm.
Perhaps I have my Villa rose tinted goggles on

If we’ve still got good links with Jorge Mendes then I’d like to see us try for Joao Neves at Benfica.
Also a random one for comp/cover for Dougie would be Kenneth Taylor at Ajax.
Still think Geertruida at Feyenoord would be a shrewd investment as well, defensive fullback, CB and can cover DM too. A Chambers on steroids.

I’d loan Duran out personally, get him some decent game time

For Watkins cover/comp I’d love us to go for Gimenez at Feyenoord but he might be on Tottenhams radar.
Failing that Serhou Guirassy at Stuttgart is a good shout, strong, agile and a decent scoring record across his career. At 27 he might be ok playing second fiddle to Ollie compared to Gimenez.

I think if we start beating the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, etc the players will start to believe as well, which is a very tasty prospect with Emery at the helm.

I think Dougie and Kamara are key to our successes, without him our midfield is loads weaker. He makes us tick. We need him long term to get to where we want to get to.

If we’re looking at Bailey being comp/cover for Diaby then you could argue we’re short on Watkins cover so could see another coming in there. Gimenez at Feyenoord would be a good one
I’d also like us to go for a similar player to Xavi Simons (out of our reach unfortunately), someone who can play across the deeper forward positions.

Looking further ahead to the summer, I dont think our buyback players are really doing enough to be re-signed so wonder if we will sign replacements if we booked them in for a return
Still early days for them, Philogene is doing great at the moment but he was unique in the fact he wanted first team football so we were kind of backed into a corner.
A. Ramsey will come good at Burnley but has been injured.
Jury’s out on Archer but he’s playing for a team that is getting hammered week in, week out so you can hardly blame him for not ‘lighting it up’ as of yet.
I think it’ll be 18-24 months before we see any of them return.
-
I also still really like the look of Karim Konate at RB Salzburg
-
Joao Neves at Benfica would be good cover/comp for Kamara.
-
For RB cover Geertruida, Wan Bissaka or Fresneda please
-
It’s be nice to get some decent comp/cover for Dougie. Perhaps the Palicious links are just that. Other suggestions could be Seiwald at Leipzig or Soler at PSG.

I think we should do a traditional design for next season, in celebration of 150 years and then do a new, more modern one for the following season. Gives the traditionalists something this season and if we launch the newer look badge early enough, enough time for them to get used to it before we adopt it 25/26
Best of both worlds

I’m not sure if we’ve had a renegotiation with Digne but his wage is now reading as reduced to 120k from 160k on Capology.
Our wage bill is getting hefty though now (McGinn 120k, Martinez 120k, Mings 100k, Pau 100k, Bailey 100k, Tielemans 150k, Carlos 100k. You’d imagine Konsa is now on about 80k, same as Cash and Watkins at least on par with McGinn, if not more.
-
Other options at RB are Amar Dedic at Salzburg and Vanderson at Monaco.
If we ship out Digne I’d like us to go for Maatsen at Chelsea.
Someone to replace Chambers and Donk in January would be Geertruida at Feyenoord. Can cover RB/CB and Kamara at DM.
-
That line up allows us to shift across if either cash or Digne are bombing on, with Pau dropping in at left back and Konsa doing the same the other side, assuming Carlos plays centrally.
Feel for Xaniolo as he played well mid week

Gourna-Douarth at Salzburg looks a good prospect, I’d like us to take a look at him.

If we’re after a Watkins backup too Serhou Guirassys is only 15m
