He’s certainly showing that with actual game time he’s found his feet. Needs to last 90 mins more frequently now.

Fantastic performance tonight. He’s in a rich vein of form, long may it continue.
-
He’s a proper tackler and will get better. Mark my words.

Just got back and still buzzing. This is what supporting Villa is all about. You get some crap but boy do you get some good stuff.
Nyland was superb but closely followed by Marvelous and Doug. Keeping fingers crossed I’ve got enough history to get to Wembley again. COYL

This lad know how to tackle. Not seen a right back who tackles like this since Mark Delaney.
-
He’s getting better and some of the timings of his forward runs are something we’ve not had recently. In another couple of games he’ll be a very valuable acquisition.

Dean is the right manager for this club. Stay up this year then watch us go next.

Just needs to be more confident in himself. It’s coming and tonight’s performance is a great step in the right direction.

Love the way he’s settled in and inspires the defence. Fabulous.

Think we’re learning how to play in this league. Follow this up with a win at Bournemouth with new signings and the momentum is with us.

Looks 2 yards of the pace, not what we need im afraid
Which based on the City performance would but Luiz 4 yards off the pace, hence the start today. He’ll get better.

Much better in the 2nd half. If we can carry that into the next game with Watford and grab 3 points could be the turn we’ve been looking for.

Nyalnd looks like a world class keeper. Hope he maintains this form. Defence and Mings in particular were great. Midfield of Nakamba and Louis gave the ball away far too easily. Front 3 played very well. Very happy.

We’ll struggle to get out of our half when the pressure is on with no target man to hold the ball up. Scared.

If he could play like he did for Leceister he wouldn't be playing for us. We have done this before wishing new signings can jump in a magic time machine.
Nothing like being glass half empty. I’ll stay in my world thanks.

If he plays like he did for Leicester that’ll do for me.

He’s back in the fold.

I think he might just be showing the form we hoped for when we signed him.

It doesn’t feel any less painful today.
-
That was pretty painful to watch. The worry for me is that there is no fight when we go behind. Dark times approach.

Smith has been making it clear all week that he wants Villa to be "tougher to beat" and, in fairness, for sixty odd minutes we looked exactly that. The problem was that once Blades scored, we were not structured in any way to fight back.
The midfield was largely missing today which meant no simple outlet passes for the defenders looking to play football and no support for the forwards on the few occasions they latched onto long balls.
Something is wrong with McGinn - don't know what but his engine is broken and that is worrying. Is it physical or is it mental ? Has something got into his head ? He looks all wrong at the moment. Grealish is our most influential player and - particularly right now - needs to play in the middle of the park, not out on the flanks where he spends most of the game as a spectator.
Must not put out a weak team against Liverpool U10s in midweek. Go out, score goals, smash them to pieces and build some confidence before next weekend. Defeat to the scouse kids will destroy our confidence even more !This is a lost of what I saw. McGinn needs a rest and I would start with a midfield of Tres, Grealish and El Ghazi in front of Nakamba and Luiz in the next game.

4 years, brilliant news.

I fancy us to get a result here. 0-2 McGinn and Luiz

Fancy us to get a result here. 1-3 Villa
