It sounds like they have bought some of the consoles through the black market, not being supplied to them like was claimed. It seems Starlink can’t switch off the satellites running those consoles without it also stopping service to the Ukrainian soldiers using them as well.

One more win takes 58.46% to 60% across 991 games? No chance.

I think the 58.5 is his time with us (his second highest ratio in his career) so one more win might make it 60% for his time with us.

Well nobody in the world could disagree with that analysis - probably not even Todd Boehly himself - but my point is for it to be relevant to the question of whether Chelsea "bottled it" it would need to have become true during the game, rather than 2 or 3 years ago.

I didn’t realise we were considering whether Chelsea ‘bottled it’ (I hate that term anyway).

I was thinking more along the lines of it being impressive to fill out your squad with players stepping up from the youth system when you have a lot of injuries to key players from your first team and then still winning a trophy against a very expensively assembled squad.

Probably better described as "a" youth system - I think there were only two that hadn't played in someone else's youth set up.

That’s not unusual for the Premier League though is it? For example if Iroegbunam, Feeney or Kellyman were to step into our first team squad and contribute to winning a trophy we would be praising Emery’s development of them as players and integration of them into our system. We wouldn’t be trying to play down the managers role and instead be crediting West Brom, Fleetwood Town and Derby.

It's not *not* impressive, in the circumstances, but also Liverpool should be beating Chelsea. They are 25 points above them in the league - basically an entire point per game better on average - and had the better team at the start of the game.

When you consider that Chelsea spent billion pounds to assemble that side while Liverpool’s young players came through their youth system it’s not as clear cut that Liverpool *should* win that match.

They are however better coached and better run as a club than Chelsea and that is why they won.

  6. It’s the substitutions bench which was young. They have a lot of key injuries and so had to fill out their bench with youth players who were then needed because the match went to extra time.

I know no one wants to say anything congratulatory about Liverpool but it’s quite impressive beating Chelsea in the cup final with a makeshift squad. We couldn’t beat them in the FA Cup over two legs and with fewer injuries.

Worse than Sheffield United? Kompany has shown his arrogance by sticking with a system that hasn't worked. It's all about him not keeping Burnley up.

I think the promoted sides as a 3 are the worst ever.

I think the Premier League is just that much stronger now that the gap is too big for them. Burnley and Sheffield will go down and tear up the championship again.

  8. He’s one of those players where you almost get two players in the one position and so can seem like you have an extra man on the pitch when he’s playing. He does the role of a centre back but then also is the playmaking defensive midfielder when we win the ball, freeing up the two midfielders in front of him.

You clearly don’t trust in Unai because he blatantly didn’t give a shit about the FA Cup.

He played our best 11 in the FA Cup when he could have chosen to rest players for key league matches after. I have no idea where you are getting this idea from that Emery doesn’t like cup competitions, it’s been his key marker of success throughout his career.

I thought he fell out with the fans more than anything, and that’s because they thought he was rubbish for ages, and then he fell out with the whole club. It seemed like he was treated poorly and especially considering the injuries he’d suffered.

We took a gamble on him based on his successful spell at Turkey, sometimes these things work and sometimes they don’t. But perhaps in hindsight buying a player based on 10 good games in the Turkish league after several seasons of injuries and poor form is probably not a good idea. £5m for Philogene Bidace or £5m+ for Zaniolo for one season, unfortunately it seems like the club has dropped a clanger.

He seems like a decent enough guy, hopefully he resurrects his career somewhere eventually. You can see he has talent but trying to rebuild his career in the intensity of the PL just isn’t going to happen from what we’ve all seen of him so far.

We didn’t sign him because of his time in Turkey. We signed him because Monchi signed him for Roma so knew the player and so turned to him when we were in a desperate position with the Buendia injury.

It will make the difference, which is why Emery has already said he’s prioritizing the league on multiple occasions. Maybe he’s wrong, brave of you to disagree with him.

You watch what team he puts out.

He played our best 11 in both legs of the Chelsea FA cup matches despite having Newcastle and Man U as the following matches in the league (both of which we lost).

He will take the Ajax game seriously.

And then look at where spurs, Arsenals, man utd, Chelsea’s  finances are today versus ours and maybe you’ll  be able to process how big champions league qualification is.

The Champions League is not as big deal as you think. It’s the Premier League’s global reach that is important and unfortunately we missed the boat when the Premier League exploded in popularity.

Us finishing 4th this season, after the ship has long sailed, is not going to make anywhere near as much difference as you are hoping and expecting it to.
