I'm really getting into MW2 multiplayer now, never thought I would.

There's summat surreal about shooting a total stranger that actually exists, I'm even learning how to improve at it.

    Very weird indeed

Had the same experience with Halo: Reach years ago. Even found a nice group of old timers (relatively speaking) to play with.

  2. Well, possibly some Warhammer from the looks of it. At least for painting as I've ordered a bunch of minis. Not too keen on playing though, so we'll see.

Otherwise, BG3 is really up there for me. Espiocracy, Jagged Alliance 3, Rouge Trader and Warhammer 40, 000 Space Marine 2 are others.

  3. So far, the man has not set a foot wrong. Brilliant start to what I hope to be one of our most successful spells we've had in a long time. Good ownership, and a good manager.

Wow! Glad you're enjoying it. There are so so so many references / fan service-y moments for FF fans, I find it fascinating that you may have the reverse experience and link those older games to XIV as that what's you've experienced first.

XII is a very good choice to follow XIV (or play alongside it, I guess, given the nature of MMOs). It's worth mentioning though that, if you weren't already aware, the guy who 'saved' FFXIV, Yoshi-P, is lead producer on FFXVI, and it's Director's and a lot of the lineage of the rest of the team goes back to FF Tactics, Vagrant Story and XII. What I'm getting at is, if you enjoy the tone and style of XIV, you may well enjoy XVI too when it is out.

I got FFVII Remake Intergrade on sale from Steam as well. Really enjoying it so far. About 12 hours or so in. Might have to borrow my sons Switch and get the pixel remasters on that later on lol

It’s lazy links. As much as I love Emi I don’t think he is good enough for a team like Bayern or quite suited to how they play. Their keepers need to be like sweepers.

Yeah, it seems like a weird replacement considering Neuer is so instrumental in their play style in way that Emi really isn't suited to.

  6. I have gotten completely absorbed by Final Fantasy XIV. Never really played any FF titles. Now, I plan on getting VII Remake Intergrade for Christmas and possibly XII The Zodiac Age as well.

But LOTS of hours left in XIV, and I really like the story despite not even being out of the less good opening parts of it.

I've either lost my mind or chess is one of the great spectator sports. I've been watching 4 hours of the meltwater tour championships on Chess24's YouTube channel all week. It's the best TV I've seen all year.

You are sane. It is a very engaging sport to watch IMO.

  8. I am so tempted to pull the trigger and get one. I think this could be right up my alley for certain games I don't otherwise play much on my PC. I was drooling a bit over a new Switch, but the options the Steam Deck opens up is really tempting.

Thinking I'll get the 64Gb version and chuck in a 512Gb SD card to start with and upgrade to SSD internal storage later on.

How many times has Carragher mentioned were narrow? It’s like his  of defence of Gerrard line.

Other than my missus, there is not a single person on this planet whose opinion I listen less to than Carragher's.

This was pointed a few times, but I don't think the back line was that high. They usually sat on 35 yards.

But yeah, unfortunately, the keeper cost us. Swedish fans might remember the play off goal against Poland. Zielinski run into the goal and Olsen made no effort to shorten the angle. He just isn't good off the line.

Yup, and he keeps looking extraordinarily uncomfortable when having to come off the line. He did play one or two decent balls last night, but yeah, he is not the back-up we need for Emery's way of playing.

Stil, I thin we looked quite ok for the most part, and individual mistakes and some bad luck (some of it obviously made by ourselves) cost us dearly.

But I thought you said the players aren't good enough? 😉

Then you weren’t reading what I wrote. I said I suspected our squad is overrated. I am more than happy to concede that this is one step in the direction of alleviating those worries. Still some way to go, just one game, but man this gives me hope and joy!
