Anyone who witnessed it will never forget pallet-gate as long as they live.
Personally I've got the 'I have a dream' speech and the moon landings in front of it but ....hey
-
I wouldn`t go getting too excited before we see a picture of carlo laying on a wooden pallet.
That's quite an obscure reference for someone who only has 7 posts and joined last August!
From this we can deduce that people read VT and dont post.....sneaky bastards
Edit - he's said so too...just call me Barnaby

Seems everybody here has their heart set on Ancelotti. I think there will be alot of disapointment round here when the manager is actually announced...
Once they get Ancelotti to Bodymoor Heath then he'll see what a fantastic set up we've got. BH is a bigger statement of ambition than many realise. Its not the be all and end all I know but it will help.

Carlo Ancelotti IS the next manager of Aston Villa ! If you can still get a bet on him ... fill yer boots !
arrr....so him saying he isnt interested in the position is just a smoke screen 8)
Where's he said that wiggy? (he hasn't by the way)
There has been contact with Carlo Ancelotti’s representatives but it is understood that the former Chelsea manager is not interested in the post. From the Telegraph article posted on the previous page. There are no quotes and it is most likely guess work. Please let it be Carlo.

Odds on Rikjaard plummeting .....8 1/2 on betfair
-
Carlo is still 5/1 at Stan James - feck it, i'm going to stick a ton on it
Well I hope you'll be collecting by Tuesday. Just to help you I cancelled out any chance of Moyes by having a tenner on him a while back..

Don't fancy Ancelotti. I don't have a clue who I would like, that would be gettable, so I wouldn't say no though. Seems to be like Capello, won loads elsewhere, but doesn't seem to be able to actually speak English and wouldn't work with players not up to the standard he's used to.
There is the scenario that he would be frustrated or disappointed with players who maybe considered sub standard or seen to be unprofessional (drinking culture stuff etc) but by all accounts he (Ancelotti) can get tough and doesn't suffer fools.
I would imagine he's gone through the state of the club's playing staff and will make a decision based on what he thinks is achievable, what funds Lerner has promised etc. As I said earlier, some managers will see the club as a blank piece paper to write the footballing culture as they may like to have it.
Interesting that The Times has reported Rjikaard has contacted the club about the vacancy....if true that is.

If the players didn't like Houlliers methods as they were too strict, Van Gaal will be even worse...
**** the players. If van Gaal didnt get his way they'd be off. I'd like to see van Gaal at Villa. Football wise it would be like a blank sheet of paper for him and at 59 he may like to do the Premier League before he retires....who knows.

I know I'll just slate him in the press.
Way to get his confidence up Gerard
St.Martin used to do it with Carew.

Unless unless just on the very off and slim chance that he's going back to Chelsea
I was thinking that, Abramovitch is running out of managers.
-
He's asked Al Fayed if he can spaeak with us. Al ba ba says no and Hughesy goes well **** ya then.
-
Reckon this could be a major factor in any decision:
"Villa may also find Ancelotti's wage demands could be a stumbling block after reportedly earning around £5million last season at Chelsea."
Hope he doesn't expect us to any where near match that.
Why ?
You haven't got to pay it.
Thats just it the paying customer, if you go to the games, does.
Although If Ancelotti is appointed manager I'll forgive the price rise this time round for the ST.

Couldn't see Faulkner wanting hughes - Faulkner would be to intimidated\frightened of him. If the decision is Faulkners then its Mclaren or Benitez.
-
5 live said we contacted fulham to let them know we aren't interested in Hughes.
i dont get this
hughes is out of contract right now since he didnt take the option for a second year at fulham, why would we contact them?
I dont think this is quite true. I believe he has a get out clause and a move would still initiate compensation. Apologies if this is wrong cant remember where I got it from.
-
In an interview with talksport yesterday Moxley (Mail) said there was some doubt about Hughes because of a tenuous relationship with Al Fayed or something along those lines.
-
I'd take Hughes over both of them.
You should be a happy chappie tomorrow then.
-
Ok. Gentlemen. What I'm about to say might aggravate you, but I think Rafa might do a good job here.
just as well he isnt coming here then
-
It won't be Moyes, he lacks ambition.
Well they're doing their best to give him some.
-
Sparky Hughes and Gerard in a peripheral role I reckon.
-
Bonjour Monsieur Hughes.
-
I dunno how long its been like it but Hughes in Evens now on the SkyBet Site
About 30 hours ago he was backed into evens from 9/4.
Hughes is still 5/2 with Chandler.
