  1. I listed him in my little collection of 'admirable mentions'.

Not the most fashionable of players but he does the job he's put in the team to do.

You don't become a Premiership captain by being shite.

I think Phil Neville is a very good player. He was out of his depth at United, but could get in to most teams in the Premier League.

  2. It's funny old world isn't it, cos there is only a few of your players I would want in our team at the most - Ash Young, Agbonlahor and at a push Laursen. No disrespect but I'm guessing it's more to do with the fact that we see more of our own players than the other teams.

    :o

Laursen, AT A PUSH!? I reckon she should get a yellow card for that, Laursen walks into any team.

  3. “We are aware of the situation with Kareem,” coach Tom Coughlin said. “I spoke to him this morning. He is extremely remorseful. The legal process will take its course, and the league will handle this matter. Nobody will be harder on Kareem than Kareem himself. He is very conscientious and has been a first-class citizen since he arrived here with our organization.”

The Giants are playing this one the right way. Under the CBA, the league and not the teams have the right to impose discipline for violations of the substance-abuse policy, which includes alcohol and drug offenses. (That said, there’s language in Paragraph 11 of the Standard Player Contract that permits a player to be cut if he ”has engaged in personal conduct reasonably judged by Club to adversely affect or reflect on Club.” Lesser forms of discipline, however, apparently aren’t allowed.) After the legal process is resolved (and if McKenzie is convicted of or pleads guilty to the charges), he’ll be subject to a fine or a suspension from the league office.

Said McKenzie: “I spoke with Coach Coughlin and [G.M.] Jerry Reese this morning and expressed my remorse for last night’s situation. I am prepared to deal with the consequences of that situation from both a legal standpoint and as a player in the National Football League.”

It seems Kareem and Coach Coughlin are handling this in the righy way. Hopefully it doesn't affect him on the field!

  4. LITTLE FALLS, N.J. - Giants starting right tackle Kareem McKenzie was arrested Thursday night for driving while intoxciated in Little Falls, N.J.

The Giants referred questions on the arrest to their public relations staff but said McKenzie would play in Sunday's game at Giants Stadium against the Ravens.

Lt. Salvatore Calafiore of the Little Falls police department said that McKenzie was pulled over at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday after he cut through a gas station at Route 23 and Main St. Police said McKenzie failed a breath test and was arrested. He was released later Thursday night. McKenzie is due in court to answer the charges on Tuesday.

Giants coach Tom Coughlin, in an interview on WFAN said: "I had an opportunity to sit with Kareem this morning. There's never been a better citizen, not an individual who has more remorse about what he did. He's not blaming anybody but himself and feels very badly about this. He's been a guy that's been a first-class guy here in this organization. He made a mistake, everyone realizes that. The legal process will run its course, the league will take their action. I just don't think this individual -- it's a mistake, we're disappointed, he's disappointed, but he's going to be hardest on himself."

Kareem, what were you thinking man!

  5. The crazy thing there is the one you described as "new" is essentially a Gamecube in a different box with a funky control scheme that doesnt always work.

I dunno about that, Madden 08 is probably the greatest game I've ever played, the controls make it so easy and comfortable, I've tried playing it with a regular control and it's pretty terrible and frustrating. I'd much prefer a Wii over a PS3, then when you take the price into account, there's only one decision to make.

  6. I've played them all enough to form an opinion, so this is what I think..

PS3 - I can't say I was too impressed, to me it just felt like a PS2 with a bit of a graphics upgrade so it got very dull to play very quickly. The online is okay, but in my opinion is lightyears behind the 360 in this.

Xbox 360 - Like the PS3, it did just feel the same as the previous console, with a bit of a visual upgrade, but the online mode is quite incredible. I'd even go as far as saying a 360 is worth buying just for the online play, I think it's better than a PS3 in every way except maybe it's visuals, but even then it's a close call for me.

Wii - Unlike the others, it's new. It feels different with it's completely new way of playing and increases it's life, so you aren't going to get bored so easy. The online mode and visuals aren't as great as the other 2, but it more than makes up with it with it's 'enjoyability', in my opinion.

    1. 360

    2. Wii

    3. PS3

That's how I'd rate them personally.

  7. Yeah it has been withdrawn after NFL commissioner Roger Goodell saw the hit and deemed the fine unnecessary.

It's about time, the NFL is no fun at the moment, you can play hard, celebrate, anything.

I just thought, don't we usually wear our red alternates when we host Dallas? I guess we won't be wearing them this season, shame, I like them! :(

  8. I'm not shocked by that move, if you have a big name, chances are you'll be playing for Dallas or Washington.

Butler not playing is not good, at the end of last seasons regular season, I was praying we released him or something, I thought he was useless, but during post-season and throughout this year so far he's proved me wrong, I like both KP and Johnson though, so I'm sure they'll do the job.

On another note, I think Tom Coughlin has been outstanding this season in everything he's done. He dealt with Plaxico in the right way for not turning up to work for by suspending him, and the rest of the team got behind him for that, now he's sticking up for his players when he needs to, Tuck in this case. At the end of the '06 season I'd have happily seen him go, but I'm so glad to have him now!

  9. Giants, Jets looking at free-agent cornerback DeAngelo Hall

The Giants might have another shot at acquiring DeAngelo Hall. The Giants reportedly are one of five teams interested in signing Hall, who was released by the Raiders on Wednesday and went unclaimed on waivers. Hall is expected to make a decision in the next day or two, with the Giants, Redskins, Patriots and Steelers all interested, according to NFL.com.

Sources say the Jets are also taking a look at the free-agent cornerback. Hall is looking for a long-term situation, which would make the Jets a longshot. They have two young corners, Darrelle Revis and Dwight Lowery, although Lowery was benched in last week's game.

The Giants were mildly interested in trading for Hall in the offseason, but the price was too high in both draft picks and salary. Hall, 24, was traded by the Falcons to the Raiders for a second-round pick last March. The cornerback signed a seven-year, $70million deal with the Raiders, who paid Hall $8million but did not want to pay another $16 million in injury-guaranteed bonuses.

  10. Another player released recently, Kabeer Gbaja Biamilla (KGB) i wouldn't mind us picking up as a situational pass rusher also. Aside from having what i think is the best name in world sport i think we could bring him in for Wynn or McDougle who haven't contributed that much or seen the field anyway and give us another weapon to rush the passer with.

    Cut McQuarters sign Hall

    Cut McDougle sign KGB

Only if they come cheap on the 1 year deal, i.e. half a season.

KGB wouldn't be the worst move, he could well be useful for us. Though I'm liking what I'm seeing from Dave Tollefson so far this season, been a nice surprise.

DeAngelo Hall.. it sounds great to begin with, but I think Corey Webster is going to be an FA at the end of the year? And to be honest, I'd rather keep him as he's been pretty great for us this season, if we can have both then that's great, not sure what our cap situation is like to be honest.

  11. Yes! I voted the Giants at every position though, i figure thats what Dallas fans did last year to get their whole roster to the Pro Bowl!

    Yep.

THey have too many highlight players anyways, like Roy Williams. I'm a better safety than this guy, but because every now and then he makes a big hit he's considered an elite safety? Please, I'd own him all day long if I was matched up against him! Most of their players are like this too.

Ah well, shows how silly the Pro Bowl selections are when only 1 of the Super Bowl winning team gets in!

  12. Rays win game 4 and take the series 3-1. :(

Well played to them, they won a very tough division to get to the playoffs and were the better side throughout the series, good luck to them.

I wouldn't mind an all LA World Series, Red Sox-Dodgers wouldn't be bad either, particularly with Manny going back to Fenway!

  13. Quite like the Braves myself to be honest. But the Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Eagles and Blues are just great team to hate, they've won F all between them for the last century.

  14. John Danks pitches another beauty to give the Sox a lifeline. Now down 2-1 in the series. Hopefully Gavin Floyd can win tonight and take the series to a decider.

Tonights game should be great, if we can pull off a win, anything can happen in game 5. A repeat of some of our 2005 magic please!

  15. Well, the cubbies are gone in a sweep. So much for being the "bestest team in the world ever".

I quite like the fact that the big rivals of all the teams I support are complete failures. :D

  16. Rays, Red Sox, Dodgers and Phillies all lead their series' 2-0. Looks like the end of the White Sox. :(

On the plus side, the Cubs are failing yet again, this is becoming hilarious. :D

  17. Thanks guys. Whenever I played MVP baseball I was getting ERAs between 3.00 and 5.00 and I thought it was bad, I seemed to think you needed it to be around 2.00 to be considered decent! Glad I was wrong, and clearly I don't suck at the game as much as I thought.
