That would put Forest in far more danger.  They'd be on 19 points and Everton on 25.

I think the logic is the existing 10 point reduction gets reduced to 5  but they get another 5 point deduction with Forest for the new breaches.

So 10 points in total for Everton.

  2. The points deduction needs clarity no appeals and everyone understanding what happens when you break the rules.

I also think if you get hit with the deduction your FFP balance should reset to the limit.

That way you are not punished twice by having to balance the books.

Now again this comes back to clarity and a sliding scale of points depending on how much you go over in the 3 year period.

Clubs could gamble and take the hit to build a team but that's on them.

I don't think it does exclude tickets - he's taken matchday revenue and for Spurs, I think matchday revenue includes tickets.

It's really hard to break out the incomes from the stadium away from other things in clubs accounts - for example, in ours.

    https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/05891280/filing-history

We break it down like this:

    Screenshot 2024-02-19 at 00.15.03.png

So it's easy enough to figure out what is gate receipts or ticket sales, (although that number suggests our average ticket price was about £25) but in terms of what's including in commercial, it could be a whole load of things, shirt sales, catering, non-matchday catering, use of our name in games, social media payments, Villa TV, any number of things. The catering income will definitely be in there, but it's hard to say what belongs on a matchday and what doesn't.

If he's using that commercial figure and coming up with £18.81 a head, then he's assuming 1.4m heads - we've never had a season long total of fans in the stadium that's more than a million (and this season should be our first) - so if he's using that figure he's adding at least 400,000 fans to our attendances.

    Spurs accounts:

    https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/01706358

    Are a little more opaque.

    Screenshot 2024-02-19 at 00.25.20.png

So it's not quite clear where they report their stadium and matchday income - Match receipts definitely includes ticket sales, but at that rate makes Spurs average ticket prices around £95 suggesting that they report some of their hospitality income in there - but its not enough to include a million spurs fans spending £71.23m unless Spurs actually make just £35m on ticket sales (at about £32 a head).

It could be that they include their catering incomes in their Commercial revenues as they don't separate out Sponsorship from Commercial - but if they do, I can't see any way that someone outside of Spurs accountants could tell you how that divides up.

Considering it's Kieron Maguire, it's either really badly explained or really badly done.

Whichever, it's hard to make any sense out of the numbers in the article in The S*n.

Would you say other stadium income is in there too? NFL Concerts and so on?

We try that in the summer months but Spurs have it all year round.

This summer will be the start of a new three year FFP assessement period for them, so they will have a lot more scope to spend because of that, also they have some big earners such as Hogan, Gardner, Roberts, and Etheridge out of contract in June, Sunjic, Jukietwicz, and Ruddy also out of contract then too, are probably on biggish money as well, so that will also help, they also announced a big ground sponosrship deal, with other deals to be announced, all this on top of what their rich owners can put in

Still just polishing a turd. Then rolling it in glitter!

I'm very torn on the alleged letter from villa employees. I have absolutely no doubt that activities are happening behind the scenes that make some season employees uncomfortable.

What we don't know is how necessary some of those things are.

I've worked in a lot of business' that require change. Villa is definitely one. This forum is full of poor service examples from the ticket office, the match day staff and our finances point to the fact that we have an awful lot of waste.

Im sympathetic to those impacted by the change but also not surprised that the changes are necessary.

The Ticket office is a great example there to be fair.  Never open to the public apart from match days.  Forcing you to spend hours on the phone then shutting the phone lines down for lunch.  Amateur Hour!

Not being funny, but I am actually a bit concerned for Unai, ever since he appeared with that sty in his eye a couple of months back.

I hope he isn't over doing it.

It says faceapp in the bottom of the photo with the dodgy hair!  Nothing to worry about obvious fake.  Still a suave gentleman.

    Honestly, definitely the other.

He hated being with us, for what reason, I know not, but the sight of him sticking his two fingers up to the Holte aftet scoring is indelibly etched on my memory forever.

I heard he was getting a load of racist abuse from some narrow minded fans so probably the reason.

My view on this is that Pep is clearly an outstanding manager and arguably the best of our time. But he does remain unproven in situations where he doesn’t have world class players immediately at his disposal. People are forgetting that he finished 3rd in his first season in England. It’s not to say that he couldn’t do what say Klopp has done having spent much less money, just that it’s unproven. By the same token I’ve no idea whether Klopp could take City to the level of dominance that pep has done had he the same resources

Yeah but when you can pull all the best looking birds why bother with the mingers?

Pep only had experience of the B Team at Barca then did what he did with the first team.  Could have tanked but has just kept winning things at top clubs with big funds.  He has not had to step down a level yet like say Mourinho has.

There might come a time when he can only get a lower level club and we will see if he has the minerals.  I doubt he will bother though probably retire to the UAE.

  9. We have our backs against the wall now but it's still a fantastic position to be in.  We need that siege mentality as fans to get behind the boys not give up on them.

All to play for under the best manager we have had since Saunders.  To quote Ron "do you want to bet against us?"

Personally I think the major issue is the inconsistency. If the refs were consistently strict, or consistently lenient and it was an even playing field it would be absolutely fine.

They are consistently shit that's the issue you would think they had learnt their lesson by now.  Stockley Park should judge everything the same but it does not depends on the shirt and that is the issue.

  11. On the train back home after the game.

Best we have played in a while.  We missed our chances but we created plenty.

They might have won but I look at the 2 teams and my money is on our style of play to get more points than theirs.

It's a kick in the nads to lose that one but I am more confident now than I was after the Newcastle and Chelsea games where we were 2nd best.

Still loads of games to go do you want to bet against us?

Was looking at the squad we've registered for the conference league knockouts and noticed he's not in it. Seems a bit odd when he would be trained in nation and trained at club yet we left spaces in the squad? 🤔

Edit - Ah think it might be because we can only register 3 new players?

    Homegrown/academy players don't count in the 25 I believe?

He is going nowhere. And why would he? He has it made and so do the FA.

Plus, there's nobody to replace him of any note.

    Eddie Howe

    Jose Mourinho

    Jurgen Klopp

Anyone really he has had his time close but no cigar.  Now one last hurrah to annoy everyone.

My anger isn’t based just on the Chelsea game  but over the last 5-6. Emery doesn’t seem to have a plan B when teams press Villa and that is also worrying.

He does but he has not used it for some reason maybe personnel available.

Take the Newcastle game for instance not great from our perspective relentless energy and press from them.

Last year they played the same and we bypassed the press by going long and put in one of our best performances under Unai.

Whatever the reasons you have to trust the manager knows what he is doing under the bigger picture his record tells us this.

We all have a moan in different ways when we lose its football even if we are losing during a game see match threads for this!

Unai is a victim of his own success we are ahead of expectations now he needs to manage those expectations and I think he will.

Anyone else still not received their e-ticket?   They emailed me to say I'd purchased it on 31st January (done automatically it seems, I hadn't ordered it).  Since then nothing.  Called about 40 minutes ago, waited 5 minutes in queue then told to try later as too many calls.  Emailed and got a response saying it could take up to 10 days to respond, and if urgent to call them.  Genius.  They really are fecking useless.  What do I do now?

Should all be in the original email mine lists them and states these are not tickets but they were underneath as attachments.

timetables and plans are generally planned a year or so out, so it might take some lead time to agree it, but in theory, its feasible if agreed by all parties, as long as all the safety/performance validation is done, and it passes it all etc.

Trouble is Premier League fixtures are not set in stone like train timetables.  Fixtures moved to accommodate TV and Europe.

Also how big are the platforms for more carriages would 10 carriages fit at Witton and Aston?

I agree with the idea though where there is a will there is a way.

  18. Is there a reason the buses can't line up on Witton Lane upto the island like the old days?

Personally I park miles away off Rocky Lane just easier to escape after games never understood the need to park close and sit in traffic.

Sometimes I will get the train but can never be arsed to que after the game so either walk back to New Street or get a lift with a mate that's driven who would also park miles away!

Seems they are allowing traffic down roads after games these days thinking of under the A38 to turn right past The Aston Tavern that never used to happen.  Causes chaos.
