Ted Lasso. I've watched it all, and quite enjoyed it, but I don't get they hype. It's an easy watch, and there's a nice sentiment behind it, but I just don't understand why people seem to rate it so highly.
I've also got to say, as a football fan, the inaccuracies have really started to bug me too.

My great great grandfather was a padlock maker in Brum. He seemed to be up in court every other week for being pissed. Eventually, he fell into a canal (whilst pissed, obvs) and drowned.
I was going to like/react to this post out of courtesy, but I couldn't find the right one to use.

going to say someone from the north east perhaps? @dAVe80 this you?
No not me. That's a phrase from a little bit further North than where I live. Although I've been spending a lot of time in Northumberland recently, and started calling dogs, dergs, and cows, coos.

If you're looking for the ultimate political song, it would have to be The Internationale. For people what speak English, has to be the original lyrics though, not the Billy Bragg rewrite.

Reports saying Lance Riddick, probably best known for playing Cedrick Daniels in The Wire, has died aged 60.

My Mom has been doing family tree stuff, and it brought up some skeletons. My great great great grandfather got a 10 shillings fine for striking his father, my great great great great grandfather, when living in Spon Street in Coventry. Obviously this is very embarrassing and distressing, finding out I have relatives from Coventry.

Rocky, Rocky Road. Pure Jesus banger, in a Calypso style.

England vs New Zealand in any format normally throws up some classics. As much as it was dreadful to lose from the position England were in, that was an amazing advert for Test cricket. Well done the Kiwis for battling to the end.

Rumours that Tom Verlaine has gone, although no official confirmation yet. 2023 is shaping up to be a bad one
Been reported widely now, seems to be true

" So, Jeff Beck pops his head round the door, and mentions there's a little sweetshop on the edge of town."
RIP to the man who let Del Preston know where to get enough M&Ms to fill a brand glass, so Ozzie would go on stage. That poor shop keeper and his son though.

I need a thread of "times you beat up an a***hole" to make me feel better.
I was changing busses at 6 Ways in Erdington when I was at college, and a younger lad (I'd say maybe in his last year of school, and I was in my 2nd year at college, so probably 2 years difference in age) with dreads did a happy lap thing on me. Ran past me and slapped me in the face. I don't know how or why, but my instinct was to grab hold of his dreads. Once I'd got hold of him I repaid him in kind. I don't think he was expecting that, and so he was quick to run off as fast as he could. When I think about it, I wonder what would have happend if he'd got a knife or had mates with him, but red mist had took over at that point.

Group of older lads turned out the pockets of every lad that came out of school once I recall. They were giving slaps to anyone who resisted, and pretty much taking anything of worth. Money, jewellery, trainers, even coats that looked like they may be expensive. Thankfully by the time it was my turn, passers by had started to notice what was happening, so they got back in their cars and drove off. I only got relieved of a few pound coins. Police came into school the next day and took statements from us all, and got descriptions of the lads, the cars etc.

The river probably isn't the most significant part of this painting, but it is there, and it is the nearest to where I live. If you figure out what the painting is of, you can work it out.

It would have been pretty good to be in Paris to see this, and witness Bill Ward thump the hell out of his poor drum kit.

The Father Ted Christmas episode is absolute gold. If spoiled slightly by seeing some of the shite Graham Linehan got himself invovled in.

Terry Hall has hit hard.
The Specials were my favourite band when I was 12 or so. They put me on the journey into discovering all the Ska/Reggae (and all other off shoots) I love today.
That voice. Deadpan, and so cool. Thank you Terry. RIP

See what happens. If we don't get a socialist revolution, it might be a shotgun in the woods job.
