Any list that doesn't have Man City just cannot be taken seriously.

In fact, any list that doesn't have them 1st doesn't make sense to me. Even SHA are (whilst a load of scumbags) not a state owned bunch of cheats with entitled fans, sweeping up every trophy available with illegal funding.

    1. Man City

    2. Man City

    3. Man City

    4. SHA

    5. PSG

    6. Man United

    7. Real Madrid

    8. Chelsea

    9. Liverpool

    10. Coventry

Don't really mind if you take it seriously or not, that's my opinion. City as they are now just don't wind me up all that much, certainly not enough for me to put them on this list. Man City of old were a decent club, with decent fans. They went through utter turmoil, and all while having the neighbours they had. Their proper fans stuck with them. I don't begrudge those fans anything.

  2. In the real world I'm full on Guardian reading, tofu eating wokerati (although I'm really not), but I love the art of stand up, and I'm a sucker for a dark joke. I watched the Gervais special, and maybe laughed once. If you're going to joke about the subjects he's talking about, you got to say something that isn't hack. Essentially I felt his material was sub par twitter trolling level.

I also watched the new Chappelle special, where he covered some similar subjects. In comparison, his jokes were fresh and deadly funny. That man just operates at a different level. I think that's the difference between a man who has devoted his life to stand up, vs a man who just decided he should also do stand up, alongside everything else he was doing in comedy.

  3. No matter your age, if you're a Villa fan, you know and respect the name Charlie Aitken. True clubman, and part of the fixtures and fittings down VP.

He was also a team-mate of Franz Beckenbauer and Pele during his time at New York Cosmos.

Holte Ender in the Sky. RIP 😔

  4. I know a few people who are members. A very good friend of mine is in the Masons, as was his dad (on a side note, they were amazing with my mate when his dad died. Did loads to help him). They tried to invite me, but I told them straight, it isn't my bag at all. They seemed to be quite eager to dispel myths about being a Mason. From what I know, they do a lot of charity work, and mostly meet up to eat and drink whisky, when they're not doing the fruity nipple, trouser leg stuff.

I like ODIs, but this summer has suffered  big time for the tests finishing  so early

That's down to the ECB pushing The Hundred. This summer especially, having it follow such a brilliant Ashes series, I felt totally underwhelmed by it. More so than usual.

I can't see him not playing. I think yesterday's top 6 will start the first game in the world cup vs NZ.

Yeah I think so. Even if Roy is fit, I think Root plays at 3 still.

Assuming everyone is injury free, I think we'll go:

Bairstow, Malan, Root, Stokes, Butler, Livingston, Ali, Woakes, S Curran, Rashid, Wood.

Agreed on all of that, my only complaint is that it felt a little rushed, it would have been so much better if they fleshed out certain parts and made it 8 or even 10 episodes, I think that would have been more than warranted, especially considering it was the final series.

Yeah I didn't look how many episodes there were, so was taken back by how fast things started moving. Definitely could have gone for more episodes and fleshed it out a little more.

  8. I just smashed through the last series of Top Boy. Enjoyed it a lot. Don't look at spoilers unless you've watched it all.

    Spoiler

The ending was satisfying, and I like how they left you guessing who killed Sully.

I think they could have done a lot more with the Irish take over plot line. That ended a bit weakly for me.

Overall, I'm glad Netflix made another 3 seasons, but I think the Channel 4 version was better.

  9. Impossible to answer.

This was on an old playlist I made, and I'd not listened to for ages, and I did declare that it would be in my top 5 favourite songs ever. That's about as much as you're gonna get of an answer at this point.

  10. In Ashes years gone by we'd have two visiting tours. They'd normally have a few warm up tests, as well as a 5 game ODI series, and a couple of T20s against the Aussies.

Having the Hundred after an Ashes series, is like having a savers yogurt for desert after a fillet steak.

Is it fully confirmed that Ali won’t bat?

It’s a groin injury, surely he could come out at 9 or 10 or something and just swing the bat hard for a few overs / balls?! It’s the last innings of the Ashes and sure, the we can’t win the series but we can avoid defeat which is obviously the next best thing, could he not just put himself through the pain barrier for 10 minutes?!

They showed footage of him netting this morning, so I think he'll come out for a swing at some point.

  12. Living up north, we do have some banging fish and chips shops up here, especially on the coast. That said I do miss Brummie chippies, and the fact you can get fried chicken, elephants leg, and in particular scallops. The lack in the availability of scallops where I live is a constant source of woe. I've sat there craving them before now.

  13. Well that was bloody agonising! 😫

What a great advert for red ball cricket though. With T20 and the IPL especially dominating world cricket, it's great to remind people about how wonderful (despite the agonising loss) test cricket can be.
