And indeed it is 20 minutes the other way in Preston
-
Anyone living in Bradford, to let me know what to expext when I get there tomorrow, we have got no snow in Preston
-
Manure also had 500 seats taken off them today I believe.
However, General I would question whether we need them in the Lower Tier at all, it's not as though that is the first time they have done that.
I would also question the Senior Steward in the Lower North, don't know his name or number, but he is the failed special ops guy that has the mini-camera on his headset. I would question what he adds to the overall package, as to quote "we will not do anything about them", but if you stand there I will throw you out. He also quoted double standards and was happy with that.
Seriously stop the cockneys from coming.

65 miles each way Preston to Bradford, M61, M60, M62 & M606, normally takes just over an hour at six in the morning, but slightly more home especially when Manure are playing at home.

1127 into Picadilly, Oyster Bar it is then

It's ok, I managed to get a ticket for my daughter tomorrow, and she has never seen Villa lose.

Similar to above but to the Torres Tune:-

100 Years and Won **** All
Small Heath, Small Heath
They changed their name
They’re still the same
And they’ll be going down again

This fixture should be a celebration of football in the city and something for both sides to relish. I look on in envy at the mersyside derby and see Liverpool and Everton sharing the stands together.
then you sir have been sucked up by the big scouse myth
they hate each other just as much as any derby
Ian
No they don't, its all a facade. Scouse derbies are diddly squat, I know in my youth I have sat in the Gladwys Street with a Liverplop shirt on and vice versa, (Yes I was young c1974) . Merseyside derbies are shit (bit of banter but that's it), no passion.
I have never lived in B'Ham but I still feel the same passion you do.

General Krulak here:
1. As many of your know, I will be off the site until Monday...I am on my way to the UK for meetings and the game. I am HUGELY excited about my first Derby and confess that I am more than mildly nervous about it. I don't think I have felt this way about a NFL game ever!! UP THE VILLA!!!
General Sir,
I know that you are way until Monday, but here's hoping that you will be writing a similar match report to last weeks.
Anyway, my question, do the Browns have this similar access to the Main Board like we do and if so, do their fans have the same respect for RAL as we do?

A good rule of thumb for pricing an initial bid on a house purchase is to estimate what you'd be willing to pay to rent it.
Multiply that figure by 1.5 and then subtract any carrying costs of the property that you wouldn't have to bear if you were renting (insurance on the building, if in a jurisdiction (not the UK, AFAIK) that assesses taxes based on property value then property taxes, a reasonable allowance for maintenance). What's left is a reasonable mortgage payment. Plug that into an amortization calculator to get a loan amount (if taking out an adjustable rate mortgage, I'd suggest for conservatism to just compute based on a fixed rate a couple of points higher and use your higher rate based payment to repay the mortgage (so that while interest rates are lower than your high estimate, you're paying down the principal balance faster and thus reducing the impact of interest rate swings down the road; if interest rates fall then the benefit of this prepayment of principal really snowballs)), add in your downpayment and subtract the transaction fees and voila, you've got a reasonable starting offer.
Levi, I think I got that.
But just to make sure, if I am paying £700 for rent per month, should I be expecting to pay £1,200 for a mortgage on a similar property. Hope so cos Carol said I can secure the loan against my property and roller skate whilst it's that time of the month.
Wait, oh shit that was Dr Alban.

i'm looking to buy a house, and so this might sound selfish, but i'm hoping for a bit of a crash!
also, i voted on the poll ages ago, when i didn't think there was going to be a fall in prices. Now i think there will be a 20% fall over the next 18 months.
Ender4, same here.
Me & the family have been renting for 4 years now since coming back to the UK from living abroad.
Now heres a question for the VT experts, I am being made redundant at end of May and walking away with a reasonable payment, some of which is being used to buy season tickets for me and the boy, as hopefully with Trent's advice, I should be moving straight into a better job.
The Mrs has seen a house, been on the market for ages, do we dive in and offer on the property or wait a bit longer to see what the full effect of the "Credit Crunch" will be? How much under asking prices are properties selling for, and are there any websites that offer this info?

I think the money is there, but it's MON and the wage structure that could hold us back. Round pegs for round holes, when sometimes a square peg could be just as useful.

Sausage & Beans for me, from Chef Ramsey
Fry some Toulouse sausages in olive oil, garlic and some thyme sprigs. Add mixed beans, (haricot, black eye etc etc) and chopped tomatoes, bring to the boil and then simmer for 10-12 minutes. Season and add sugar to reduce the tartness of the tomatoes, then serve with chunks of french stick.
Pukka as Jamie would say

General Sir
Just got back from the Theatre of Doom, no gripe about the result, the team or the fans who once again stood head and shoulders above any other supporters.
Main reason for concern, is that there were at least 6-8 Manure fans in our section today, all wearing shirts and/or holding megastore bags. I suggested to numerous stewards and old bill that this was just asking for trouble, however, they would/could do nothing about it. I did see some Villa fans ejected and it seemed that the CES stewards and GMP were only interested in throwing out opposition fans.
Could you please pass on any suggestions as to who I can bring this concern/complaint up with, FA or Manure themselves.
Many Thanks

General Krulak here:
2. Smoking. 12 people were ejected from today's game for smoking. 5 season ticket cards are on the desk of our Head of Security. We had two representatives from "Smoke Free Birmingham" visit the grounds yesterday...no report on what they saw or felt. This is a serious issue that does not just concern the staff at Villa Park but the fans as well. We cannot afford a stiff fine because a small, small minority of fans cannot last a couple of hours w/o a smoke.
General Sir, are these Season Tickets now available for auction, :winkold:

When I first came to the UK to work in 2000, I was a Tranmere Rover fan...there is a loooong story behind that.
General, first of all thank you for the swift and helpful reply.
However,.................................................as a Chester boy myself and you working for a rather large American Bank that has its european hq in that fair city, why oh why Tranmere, it's like a stab to the heart. :wow:
Still at least it was not that lot over the border that have a lot of sheep!!

It was in fact the way I became to love Villa when I was around 7 years old. I read about the club and I loved the name. When I saw them on TV the first time I was "in love" instantly! This love has now gone on for 34 years...and still going strong.
I know the feeling, 1975 League Cup Semi Final vs Chester, my hometown club, never looked back.
General
How is the Season ticket exchange plan going, reason for asking is that after numerous years of begging, the good lady seems to be giving in to me and my 10 year old son getting season tickets. Problem is we live 100 miles away and he plays football on Wednesday nights, therefore some games we will be unable to get to. If I am able to tell her that for those games we can sell/swap our tickets I think the deal is as good as done.
After 10 years of trying that is a hell of an achievement on the new management's part, and if she is giving in here, well (I live in hope, as do all married men :winkold: )
