Well the half year report is out in less than three weeks so I am sure we will be reporting aother loss....... the figures might be revealing for those who are 'investment minded' Will they shoe something that concerns the Comers I wonder

Interesting comments here. He had a 'minor procedure' and in another article he describes it as being 'non-malignant' He seems to have had a biopsy where a small piece of tissue is SENT OFF for analysis as to whether it is malignant or not. Maybe some 'medical person' who reads this site might be able to comment on whether he would have had the result, seemingly the same day. As I and others have heard it is not as minor as his OBEness is making out

I am told from very reliable sources that Mr.Ellis has much more pressing issues to deal with at the moment regarding his health (or lack of it).

I'm here........ and I had heard Doug wanted to sell to a Norwegian and certainly not Neville/Comer so this is no surprise at all. I may be a critic of Doug but until we know details it may be he is doing the right thing in the long term for Villa (and of course HDE OBE) There is a 'weak' possibility that Mr.Everall may know more but he didn't respond to a recent PM. PS...... there is nothing to say that Neville isnt in touch with this Norwegian as part of the consortium. They did have an Arab horse owner on board at one time but kicked him out weeks ago.

But, Denis are there any "football persons" who would have the money to pay him what he wants for his shares and that would also want to buy our club? Ray Ranson was a football person, but it seems the money now on offer and the status he will enjoy at the club after any deal has more impact on whether a deal happens than whether the person with the money has ever kicked a football. Didn't say there were 'football persons' with money I said he wanted to sell to this sort of person. Don't forget 'By Doug for Doug' therefore Ranson didn;t offer enough. He wants to choose price and who he sells it to. Nice to hear the Comers are still going for it but the problem lies with Ellis not wanting to sell to them.

In all honesty I think Doug does actually want to sell. He does not want to sell to Neville/Comers. He wants to sell to a 'football person'. It suits his ends to have Neville running around whilst he seeks an alternative as it doesn't make him look desperate or willing to take the first and lowest offer. I can't stand the man and I want him out of our club BUT for once he may actually be doing the right thing........ just too slowly!

Because if he sold a percentage of HIS shares to the Russian he would therefore be relinquishing a proportion of his power. Dougs holding is worth only about £20m, if he sold half Petchey and the Russian would each have more power than him. A new share issue ala Spurs would be a better option but again he would be diluting his own shareholding. Remember what GT said 'For Doug and by Doug'

Just so I can't be accused of speaking in hindsight.... I posted this several pages (page 15) ago on 27th December 2005. This is the start of the proof of what I said.

But significantly not a single solitary word from B6 to indicate one way or the other. IF Ellis wanted this t ohappen he could say something but HE CHOOSES not to. It will suit Ellis for this to carry on until 31st January as it will give him a few more months breathing space.

I think we have all seen the SE announcement....... especially this So if he is still so keen, and said it would be sorted by Xmas and then the New Year why say that when clearly no offer has even been made? Ellis is the master of brinksmanship and Neville won;t be able to out do him on that!

I think that Neville tried to force Ellis t ospeed up with the two 'deadlines' he mentioned. Nothing happened from Ellis so this is the next stage trying to show they may pull out. From all of this Neville seems a lot more desperate for this to happen than Ellis

Maybe Comers think something is happening when infact it may not be.

As it is months since the Comer interest, and if Ellis wanted to sell and the price has been agreed why is it we are no further forward and the only statements have been from Neville talking of completion dates? Neville might be serious and Comers might be serious but there is another person involved who may not want to sell to them.

My information is that the Evening Mail article shouldn't have been printed...... well certainly not at the time it was. Remember there are two sides in this 'takeover' and who is to say that there are not other people 'sniffing around'. Who is to say that Mr.Ellis would not prefer to sell to a 'football man' rather than a consortium with something of a chequered background. I accept I 'could' be wrong but my money would definately go on the Comers not completeing a deal.......... now it could be that Ellis refuses to sell but they were definately trying to pressure him last week with Nevilles statement. And as we all know one thing Ellis doesn't like is being pressurised into anything.

Comers ain't gonna happen but no knowledge if there is anyone else in the frame. My GUESS is that there is.
