the plan was a five year project.

 

year one - strip away all the rubbish who were on big money. lower the overall wage bill. lower the age of the squad by bringing in younger players who could develop, get better and increase in value at the same time (instead of signing guys for big money who teams don't even want for free)

 

year two - finish off what was trying to achieve in year one. plus bring the younger players on. think the manager wanted a little more experience in there but that could still happen. And as much as he didn't think the team would do miles better the plan was to avoid the drama of a relegation battle.

 

year three - inject a little bit of additional quality. instead of having to buy five or six players then focus on one of two quality players. and remember the younger guys are now in their third season in the top flight and should be much better.

Lastly on the chairman I am disgusted that our chairman is expected to throw away his money or be vilified by his clubs own fans.

No one asked him to throw it away. He bought the club in the full knowledge he was the 'custodian' therefore looking after it for ALL of us. Secondly he knew it would cost as at the time he said if he wanted to make money he wouldn't have bought the club.

As is pointed out above Everton are in a much worse position financially than we are but have a manager now who can get them playing good football. A manager who turned us down due to the owners plans.

We are going nowhere at the moment - no money, no plans, no leadership and poor players with no decent tactics. - HAPPY 2014!

Cas a very good read. Don't agree with a lot but thats life. However if the Chairman appoints a manager and then fails to provide him with he players he needs then he needs holding to account - perhaps thats why he finds it 'safer' in good old US of A

It seems strange the club countenance your input here when supporters who posted with links to the club (Mysteryman) were given a sort of 'Gypsys warning' to shut them up. But you must agree the silence from the owner about his intentions/plans/views etc are deafening. Is it true that Lambert took on this job in the beleif he had full control abnd did not want/need someone on the Board with footballing nouse? In which case he must shoulder a lot of blame.

Why is the club in such a mess and why is it still impacting for 4 years since MON 'exited'? Does Lambert really think he can do anything other than survive and pay no more than £20k pw? If so he is as deluded as the owner if he thinks all is going well.
