Whoever we sign, I hope they have strong leadership skills as well as physical/technical

What are good leadership skills when playing football?
Give me an example of a current player that shows them.

Kamara, McGinn, Luiz.
8 league games missed by crucial, 90 minute, players.
All stupid incidents. Luiz can be considered maybe slightly unlucky as I think he was waving his leg going for the ball. But THINK. There's 30 seconds left, you can turn and get back.
Anyway. Bang their bloody heads together Unai. The whole squad.
No more.

All three of Villa, Spurs and Utd are quite similar in style.
In that none can defend, and all can score.
We've gone off a cliff defensively. Started really well, but we're a mess recently. Utd and Spurs have been a mess all season.

Hilarious stuff from Wood.
I can't stand watching us for nerves, but Utd and Spurs matches are pure comedy.

Chelsea ahead and closing in on Utd.
Utd have Bournemouth and Sheff Utd next. They won't win both.

I'm finding all the PPG chat irritating now. It's too much.
Very much hope Ten Hag stays at Utd next season.

This is good. Man I won't catch us anyway, and Klopp won't win the title.
Win win.
More bonuses...Ten Hag stays.

Honestly, Utd are so shit. I'm not worried if they win this.
They won't win their next two of Bournemouth and Sheff Utd.
I've mapped out the results. Those two points yesterday would really have helped.
I've got us needing a point last day to guarantee us 5th.

It's an absolute mystery - the way we've reported our attendances all season has been peculiar - sporadic at best (the Wolves figure hasn't been announced yet) and with this one, just plain odd. They're being filtered and controlled for some purpose under Mr Heck.
I hope it's an FFP fiddle.

The club have reported the attendance for this game as 30,210.
Ridiculous.
Why have they done that? What's the thinking from them? When it was over 40k.

What are the general thoughts on Youri? I’m torn to be honest.
Same as Torres.
A talented player who's good going forwards only.
-
Great performance.
Should be a great option alongside Ramsey and Philogene.

Watching again, i just can't work out what he was doing for their 2nd.
Was in a decent position, checked his shoulder so knew Mbeumo was there, and then just left it.
Really odd
Scared of contact is the only thing I can think. Or he actually can't judge the cross for some reason? Appalling.
Great on the ball, a liability defensively. This is Pau Torres.

The injury was unfortunate but it looks again like another ridiculous signing from Gerrard.
Tarkowski on the same contract but for ~£3m instead of £30m would have been much better for us than Carlos.

And today is EXACTLY why I was fuming at our approach against City. You can not just throw in the towel against any team, otherwise you'll never pick up surprise points and only drop 'guaranteed' ones.
Did we look any fresher today?!
I'd say it was all going to plan at 2-0 up yes.
You think we looked tired? So we need more rest? Enjoy the line-up for the Arsenal game.
Keep telling yourself you're right and Unai is wrong.

Ref was so so bad.
It probably was a yellow but Brentford players had been flying in and diving throughout. **** all given.
Doug in general has been coasting for ages. You can see it early in games when he's not bothered.
-
Not a disaster.
Really really really bad from 2-0 up with 30 mins left.
We need to limp horribly over the line.
-
Doug has been piss.

Zaniolo man. Good god.

What planet is Emery on? We need to wrestle back control in midfield and he bringss on Zaniolo? Mental! Should be Tim
Would he bring more control than Luiz, Tielemans and McGinn?

Race for Champions League - 2023/2024
in Villa Talk

You don't care about 4th or 5th? Strange one. How can you not prefer 4th?
If we're 4th we'll be done with a few games left and be able to rest players for the European final we could be in.
Wonder if there's a scenario where we need to win that final to give us our first title in years, and also get us into the Champions League through the PL.
