Entertainment is all I've been asking for, so thanks Paul for the last two games, keep it coming.

When did he sulk? Never seen him be lazy either, I think he tracks back a lot.

Could be wrong but he was one of our best players end of last season.

A much better player than Weimann, he makes things happen. Weimann needs the team to play well before he does anything.

I'm fairly certain I remember him scoring some very important goals for us last season. Don't think he does have NRC syndrome.

I'm melting

I just wish we'd continued our good play and points collection from the end of last season. I was really optimistic at the start of the season but the style and tactics, Liverpool aside, has been poor, negative and uninspiring and if it continues we will only finish on roughly the same amount of points as last year and that isn't good. I didn't think 50 points was overly ambitious to achieve and yet I cant see that happening.

No one gives a shit about cup games

Given that we have floated in and around mid-table obscurity to relegation fodder over the past don't know how many years and given we are highly unlikely to qualify for Europe I actually give a shit about cup games. Its the one and only slim chance we have of winning something. But hey at least we get to to go the big grounds every year instead.

Also the opinion of James Nursey is not something that should be overly respected.

29 goals against to 44 is also a rapid improvement

13 of those 44 goals did come in two matches though.

In terms of the rest its all very marginal improvements but generally the football has been poor. If the fast paced, good passing and pressing continues from Liverpool then we may even finish in this lofty position. However if the football from previous continues we will, imo, drop down the league.

I remember Rincon playing for Napoli, absolute class, and then he went to Madrid and went faster downhill then Eddie Eagle.

If this guy isn't good enough for Villa then there's a real distorted view of our midfield

Not poor, not great he was just ok. I doubt he will do much worse and I doubt he will do a great deal better (maybe a goal or two).

We hardly cross the half way and he doesn't score, we start to attack and he scores. Weird.

Gabby created two goals and was a threat that Liverpool feared.

 

Holt ran around and did what we expected him to do and Liverpool also knew what to expect and dealt with him comfortably.

Exactly, our game was significantly reduced on his appearance. The pace and movement we had was worrying them, Holt was not the right player to be introduced.

Lowton showed last season he has the potential to be a very good RB and could certainly become a fan favourite, he already was a bit, especially after that goal. And this was one of the main reasons many on here were confused and disappointed by his absence early in the season. Now it's slowly trickling through that the cause of this is rifts with Lambert, secretly moving to Sheffield - ignoring club policy to live close to Brum -, and then showing up late for training - there may have been a crash, but he wouldn't even be on the M1 if he lived nearer to Brum -. And I wouldn't be surprised if you could throw little effort in training in there too.

 

All this because he can't live an hour away from Sheffield? If I was earning Premier League wages, hell even top end League 2 wages, I'd make an effort to obey club policy and move within 20 minutes of the club. It's not good enough.

 

People are annoyed because he's throwing away the opportunity to play Premier League, and for Villa, for years to come because he won't move to Brum, he needs to get a grip. But if he can't handle living far away from Sheffield, I'm sure we can sell him back to Sheff Utd in League 1.

 

People are annoyed about a rumour and have no idea behind the reasons why it may even have happened or how many times it has happened. Added to that they have no idea about club rules or his famliy circumstances and reasons for living away

It's been reported that he was disciplined for turning up late to training, and his missus confirmed this on twitter and stated he had an excuse as there was a crash that he caused traffic he got stuck in. Not much digging can tell you this was probably probably the one on the M1, which indicates he is living north of Mansfield/Chesterfield. No, we don't know the exact club policy on where players should live, but this isn't the first time this issue has reared. It happened with Ireland and I think one or two other players two within the last couple seasons, including Lowton a few months ago. So I think it's safe to assume this is a rule at the club, but we don't know the specifics. So Lowton shouldn't have been caught up by this traffic.

 

It's not as if this is all about this one incident why people are getting upset, he's been crap all season and not really been showing much effort, so to now hear he's showing up late to training, and possibly breaking club policy in the process, is frustrating. Fans don't like to see when players seemingly throw away what they've got.

 

Maybe we are jumping to conclusions and Lambert is just really strict on when players show, no excuses, but I think it's extreme given Lowtons excuse.

 

As for my comment about wages, I don't see how saying I would move closer to BH if i was earning thousands per week shows a smug sense of moral superiority.

You also mentioned you'd happily move 20 minutes away, thats great but that might not be the clubs policy either and while its easy for you to say that but you dont know Matts family circumstances are.

I think that's a bit unfair. He's been solid this season and cut out a lot of mistakes. 

 

The first goal was more down to the quality of the attack than than a mistake from Clark. 

 

He really hasnt been solid, he's been better.

He also brought down Suarez on the edge of the box that was luckliy waved away

Did well I thought yesterday but he's been fairly hit and miss in this position, although as he has been in other positions too. I like him though.

Gave the ball away a lot, an awful lot, I really don't remember him making many tackles yesterday either. The only one that stands out he got booked for. He is just a nothing player, runs around a lot though.

He is the one player I feel I'm cussing under my breath or shaking my head at.

Brilliant debut, chuffed.

All his appearance proved is that he will hold others back.

Didn't do a great deal wrong but he didn't add positively to our game either. 

Excellent performance almost disappointing we didnt win.

Who knew good football could create chances and give fans enjoyment.
