Isn't it odd that we havn't heard anything from Everton today?
In all fairness it was transfer deadline day, they might have been busy.
-
I'll be the first to get the excuse in...
January is a notoriously difficult time to get players in. And you really will be paying over the odds. So we're better waiting for the summer.
-
So many overreactions.
How are people overreacting? If Petrov and Reo get injured for long spells, we're f**ked in the middle of the park.
In November we have 3 games in 7 days, at the end of December we have 4 games in 9 days...That's without any cup games thrown in.
If we play most of this season like we did against Everton we're going to get A LOT of injuries....
I have to agree, all things considered its been a fairly low key reaction so far. Some clubs, the fans would be burning effigies by now.

Better be a very good manager, whoever it will be.
I think we also need a very Lucky manager now.
-
You only need one shite of a manager to tell his player to nail Stephen Warnock and we don't have a left back till at best January.
-
If this is it. This has to be the most disappointing transfer window ever. Even with Doug you would get someone in.
-
It hasn't started yet, but looking forward to This is England '86
-
Baggies have just signed Scharner, can't see someone Sidwell joining too.
-
I wonder if Wenger has had enough at Arsenal yet????????????????????????
That would cause a stir!
Get Dein in too while we're at it.
-
Kevin McDonald is still favourite with most bookies though. And I thought he was pretty much ruled out.
-
We were absolutely terrible in the first half, the possession we allowed Everton was embarrassing. Totally outplayed in midfield.
Much improved in the second half. Still very lucky to get a result.
-
So he throws the game 8-0, swaps arteta for osbourne and then resigns tommorrow?I just spotted Moyes :shock:And Jagielka for Davies
-
Just on Koeman, is he not supposed to put a CV in to get contact, as General says a shortlist will be drawn up after todays game and then they'll start the interviews.
Surely he didn't say a shortlist isn't being drawn up until after today?
-
He is just desprate for any job....I bet if another prem manager were to go he would be linked right away.
He said he wanted the Ukraine job a couple of days ago too.
-
Koeman was on SSN on the phone, he said he has had no contact from AV....
As we're apparently spending every waking moment sorting our new manager. Anyone who says they've had no contact yet, is surely completely out of the running.
So Koeman and Bradley, no go.

General just posted on matters of new manager
He needs to know the League, have demonstrated he can win in the League, be a team player who understands the ethos, traditions and values of the Club, be in synch with the leadership of the Club and have the same vision, etc. etc. etc.
So Ferguson, Wenger or Dalglish then?
:winkold:
Think he means games!
Ah ok, still would rule out most of the managers we've been linked to.

Reading General Krulak's posts on the matter of new manager, its all 'taking our time to get the right man in.' The right man is more important than a quick appointment.
Now to me, if the new manager isn't in place in time to work the transfer window, I expect the appointment to be someone **** exceptional.
If its not, then there is no way the procrastinating is justified. New players are vital, for so many reasons. The loss of Milner, no reserve left back, just keeping with the team competitive within the top 6. To name a few.
If the new manager isn't an exceptional candidate, and its too late to make transfers. Its sure as hell going to look like a deliberate play not to spend money. And to fans and players, that will be a PR nightmare.

I know we have no hope but I would like Harry Redknapp. Not for his twattishness though.
Baconface no chance
I said it before and I'll say it again, if that post stroke Roy Hodgson gets near Villa. I will personally drive down Villa Park and slap Randy right in the face.
What the hell has Roy Hodgson got to do with Harry Redknapp? Did you also miss the fact he has just taken over at Liverpool?
Sorry I think Renknapp looks like Hodgson if he'd had a stroke. (or melted slightly)

The reason they think is to stop Vienna crossing the ball which they did look to do alot last week.
But with cuellar and collins back those crosses really shouldn't be causing quite as much chaos.

Is Downing injured too?
-
No it's Giampaolo Mazza.
That was some serious googling you did there. (I know I had to)

If Hitzfeld is still managing Switzerland (?), then he doesn't really fit into GingerLad's description. GL seems to be implying that the manager has previously managed at international level, but is not currently doing so.
However the new manager has managed at International Level before, and one of his targets has played under him.
Oh my God - it's Lawrie Sanchez
No It's Mick McCarthey
Confirmed: Houllier is the new Villa manager
