  1. I'd have to give him 80-90% so far. He's really strenghtened our team. We're in our first english cup final since the chelsea game(2000 i think), and has brought in some top quality players. Has made us the most defensively sound team in the premiership at the moment (a league that includes a team with an outstanding defence in ivanovic/bosingwa terry carvalho cole with defensive midfielders such as essien, mikel), qualified for uefa twice (although neither runs were that admirable). He's the best manager I can remember at Villa, ahead of Atkinson, Taylor & Little. (too younf 4 saunders).

  2. The other was the best defender in the league when he was fit. epic

Richard Dunne is the probably the best defender in the premiership this season. Ashley Cole may come close to him, that's all.Wouldnt be surprised if he got a nomination for player of the season.

Guaranteed to be named in the premiership team of the season.

  3. Richard Dunne my lord. Edges player of the season so far for us imo. He's been quality, completely reliable, a leader, has blocked more goalbound shots than anyone since McGrath, scores a few , has lots of pace, strong as an ox .......

  4. Lets say Man City want one of the Villa players in January. And will bid big money. The Barry transfer will in my opinion turn any of our big stars off Man City. Barry is now less guaranteed a starting spot with England, has had his worst season so far for quite a while, and the club are no closer to CL football than we are. I'd love if they came in with a 30 million bid for Milner, and Milner told them piss off, "Im better off with Villa"

  5. It gets better... 4 consecutive wins, 4 clean sheets 3rd in the league and we've now got the 2nd best defence in the league.. I am very happy.

we've conceded the joint least amount of goals with Chlesea.

Technically we have the best defensive record in the premiership now, as weve played 1 game more than Chelsea

  6. Play shit and win, something we didn't do for the final third of last season. Usually it'd be a draw or a loss. I am happy. 3 points.

we didnt play shit. played some great football at times especially in the first half. our goal was top class football, from downing especially. defence was immense all game.

  7. Some great displays this season from lots of our players :)

I think it has to go to Richard Dunne though.

    1) Dunne

    2) Milner

    3) Collins

    4) Agbonlahor

    5) Cueller

    6) Warnock

    7) Friedel

    8) A Young

    9) L Young

all those players are worthy of a lot of praise for this season.

  8. petrov = average

    sidwell = below average

reo-coker = average (would be world class if he had some ball retention and passing skills)

    gardner = average

delph = not 2 sure on him at the mo

its clear , that our centre midfield is our weakest point.

milner will be very good here

so a new quality CM or 2 should be our num 1 addition(s) in the not too distant future

  9. Over 50 irish of the irish villa fan club coming over for this.

The team i'd love to see is (no chance of this though):

    -----------------------Guzan---------------------------

    Young-------Collins----------Dunne-------Warnock

    ----------------------Reo-Coker-----------------------

    ----------------Milner---------Downing----------------

    Albrighton----------------------------------------Young

    ----------------------Agbonlahor------------------------

Subs: Friedel, Cueller, Petrov, Carew, Beye, Delph, Delfouneso

  10. Mark Hughes is the luckiest manager of all time. Granted he did fairly well with Wales. (judging by bellemy's recent form i guess he brought out the best of the welsh players by providing them with top notch sheep as after match rewards). Blackburn started to deteriorate under his reign. Man City had as good a squad as us us last season and finished well below us. All of a sudden he gets 200 million to spend in a year and we'll still put up a decent fight this year with man city. I'm glad he's managing them, because if they had a quality manager they should be unstoppable.
