We're far more creative with Jack on the left. It gives the opposition far more to worry about.

I missed the error, but thought he had a great game overall

100% When you think about it George Boateng was probably the last proper DM we had.
Absolute steel to get this kid for around £10m.
I've always thought this; that Boateng was never properly replaced. Really good to see Nakamba growing in his role, and money well spent

Good 1st half, lost too much momentum in the 2nd.
Shame about Targett going off injured as he was having a good game.
I think patience is wearing too thin with Wesley now. The guy cant even hold up the ball. At least young Davis can do that

Came on and got into a good scoring position, struck the ball very well and had it not hit the arm of a defender, could well have got us a point.
As it turned out, it did hit the arm of a defender and it should have been a penalty - VAR really does hate us, doesn't it?
Either way, he's a threat. And I don't know how to get him in the team, but I know I really want to see him in it.
Drop El Ghazi, move Jack over to the left and put Conor in CM. That would concern the opposition's defence far more than having El Ghazi on the left, plus we now have a player who can score from freekicks.

What happened in the 2nd half was no surprise. Alarm bells were ringing when I heard Elmohamady was preparing to come on.

True
The problem with the Friend/Grealish incident is that Friend rushed to judgement. It was impossible for him to be totally certain that grealish wasn't fouled. Replays show Jack was fouled at least by Saha in the first instance which caused him to lose balance, and Cahill appears to have caught Jack otherwise Cahill would not have ended on the floor clutching he leg. If Friend had a stong suspicion that Grealish had dived he could have checked VAR after the goal was scored.

Lansbury detected two team mates cerebrally, it's no mystery that his fitness gives a clue to his ability and if he can avoid injury, he'll murder the opposition (not literary, I mean literally).
I thought I was the only one who kept being reminded of Angela Lansbury all this time

I think if the green part was plain, or just pin striped by the black it would look quite smart.
I get what the pattern is meant to be, but it doesn't work imo.
I do appreciate the effort to give a few nods to our history. Just not sure it's been executed particularly well there.
It has a kind of Aztec/Mesoamerican feel to it I quite like. I certainly prefer it to that revolting Asics shirt

I think this is wrong. He’s a really good player.
But is he a really good Premier League player? I'm sure he could be, but at the moment especially with Taylor behind him, the left side is the weakest area.

You can stick them in with his 20 shit performances in the championship.
Ive said it in a previous post but this guy is average. He had 2/3 very good games last season and was distinctly average, if not poor, in the rest of them.
Our wingers and full backs were our weak link last season with our spine (Grealish, Mings, Tuanzebe, Abraham, McGinn) rescuing us and winning matches on their own. I find it really infuriating we’ve started the season with El Ghazi, Taylor and El Mohamady having spent 150m.
To an earlier point, if Smith doesn’t trust Jota, I’d push Grealish out to the left in an inside forward kind-of position and bring either Nakamba or Hourihane into midfield. El Ghazi is too inconsistent. Until he can show the ability we saw in the playoff final on a regular basis, he needs to be benched.
Spot on. He's not the kind of player that will help keep Villa in the Premier.
Certainly worth trying Grealish on the left and bringing in Nakamba

Great mock ups, but please dont encourage the use of white home socks. Leave that to West Ham.

There's some knee jerk reactions on here

He just dosnt seem like a winger at all. I'm sure he'd make a better forward.

Amazing saves by Steer. McGinn amazing again. Winning the penalties will give them a huge lift for the final.
When Adomah missed the pen it looked like JT said to Elmo, "That'll be the last kick he takes". He's pedestrian, creates nothing and has got that same look as N'zogbia look on his face all the time.
Abraham was below average tonight imo. He needs to pick up his game for the final

The above documentary Horizon "The Secret You", covered the subject of free will. This was covered in this thread ages ago which is pertinent to both atheists and religionists. Video clips were removed from youtube, so I found a full length version on vimeo. Watch from 48:27. Listen very carefully to the explanation given after the experiment and particularly from 53:22.
