  1. Emery has unlocked something in him and the rest of our forwards. Our passing when on the break is absolutely brilliant, managing to thread the needle to find a free player in the box pretty regularly. We don't panic and we find the pass, and Ramsay is probably the best proponent of that in the side. Lethal on the break and just beautiful to watch.

  2. According to Transfermarkt our squad is worth more than Juventus. This competition is obviously full of banana peels, but the average team we'll play will be worse than the average team we play in the PL, and the best teams won't be better than the top 6 or 7 PL teams. We can and should absolutely win this. It's been too long in between trophies.

  3. Brilliant game when it mattered most. Such an exciting player. He'd have to be in the running for a senior England call up shortly given the players getting named in the midfield.

Brilliant season, going from strength to strength.

In theory I don't hate it, but it's enough of a farce with the time taken to draw some straight lines, the last thing we need is VAR getting their **** compasses out :D

My interpretation would simply be that if it's close enough that you're not sure, that player is interfering and therefore offside.

Our high line is usually brilliant but we got caught out once where they had 3 players offside in attacking positions and the player who scored close. It's very frustrating.

The offside rule is bollocks tbf. Half their **** team is offside, but for some reason interfering with play is a factor for attackers but not defenders, so it's onside because someone's foot is in the wrong place half a pitch away while he's got 3 or 4 teammates miles off alongside him. It's **** stupid.

Yep, they're allowed to stand offside and be in the way of our defenders tracking back, but as long as they don't play the ball themselves it's on. The current way it's ruled is absolute garbage. You should be considered offside if you're within 10m of another player or the ball, regardless of whether you attempt to play it.

  6. Really chuffed for Marv, such a nice fella and such a hardworking player, and he'll now be a legend at Luton. Deserves that so much.

I know it's a business but I wouldn't haggle them too hard over his fee. He's surplus to requirements here and he was a good servant for us. Don't make it hard for him to make his move and maintain a good relationship with both him and Luton for potential future loans.

  7. The amount of 15yo Liverpool fans on social media saying "the ball was nowhere near it" because they're judging the incident on stills of the footage and didn't watch the game is insane. Mings got let off because he got the ball so cleanly, well prior to the contact, and had his eyes on the ball the whole time.

Don’t be, whatever happens is a massive bonus.

We get 6th and we’ll be bouncing over the rooftops

We get 7th, it’s fantastic and we have a great chance of a cup next season, a season of getting used to all the extra games, expand the squad etc

We get 8th, a brilliant 2nd half to the season, highest points total for over a decade I think, respected in the league again, attractive to new quality recruits and the ability next season to focus solely on the league and European spots next season.

Win, win, win!  It’s all upside whatever happens the next two games…

Agree completely! I hope we get to Europe but if we don't, we get another season to build our depth and push for Europe again from a much stronger base. It's the most exciting time to be a Villa fan since at least the MON years, arguably in the Premier League era.

  9. Disappointing to have it such a done deal in the media and then fall over. Much better that it happened now an not in a month's time. I'm certain we had contingencies in place. We haven't lost anything.

  10. Kane's penalty was basically identical to the one he got against Cash. Makes zero attempt to get to the ball and theatrically falls over a player he could easily avoid. He gets rewarded with penalties like this all the time and there seems to be no appetite among the referees to stamp it out. Disgraceful.

I know its more than that. That's why I said "Embiid helped", not, "this was entirely down to the drafting of Joel Embiid".

This is fine, but we're in the Chris Heck thread though, talking about what Chris Heck might bring to the table. Star players are always important but you still need to get things right around them.

Embiid helped, we need to nurture another superstar.

It was more than that, the Sixers were a nothing team for years. They sorted out their branding and now have some of the best uniform/branding combos in the league, and became a genuinely massive team. The on court product had to go along with it, but they nailed their identity shift and generally the way they carried themselves as a franchise.

  13. It'll be quite funny to see all the 15 year old Messi fans scramble after spending 12 months slamming Ronaldo.

It's such an ugly move for both of them. Both of them have bank accounts that would make Scrooge McDuck's vault blush and they'll sell their souls for money that won't meaningfully change their lives.

  14. That BK8 sponsorship is truly horrendous on every level. I liked Cazoo, it was simple and not a gambling business. I know we can't have Acorns but jesus wept does it have to be evil AND ugly?

Looks so small time. They'd want to have been offered an eye watering amount of money to have accepted this monstrosity.

I was really looking forward to getting the first kit with the new badge but that's tempered my excitement quite a bit.

  15. It was pretty important for them to keep Grealish away from their rivals as well. If Grealish had gone to Man Utd, he'd have been a transformative player for them. Can't have that.
