  1. Our son Alex is now nearly 6 months old.

I can honestly say he is the best thing that's ever happened in my life. It's incredible how much love you can feel for your kid, and the amount of joy they can give you with just a smile or laugh.

To the people who are due to be parents soon - :thumb: you'll love it, its the best thing ever.

  2. Champions League is everything these days unfortunately. I'm not a fan o the competition tbh but I realise that to honestly call ourselves a big club we have to be in it regularly.

But in my heart of hearts I'd rather us win the cup this year. A club like Villa should not be waiting for an FA Cup win after more than 50 years. It would be a day to remember for the rest of your life.

  3. indeed he doesn't understand squad rotation.

He puts out our best 11 whenever he can, and it's got us into a very healthy position in the league, FA Cup and the League Cup this season. Why rotate for the sake of it when we are winning ?

He just bitches about the fans. Still keeps mentioning Gabby

    No he doesn't

he fans didn't boo gabby they were booiung YOU Martin for contuing to pick him

    That's debatable.

Despite wht you think and what most fans seem to adhere to - you're not above critiscism in fact I think there's many thing to fault you for.

Of course he's not above criticism. Who said he is?

I'm adamant we'll never achieve anything in teh league with him in charge _ I desperately want to be proven wrong.

We'll see I guess. He's improved us each season he's been here. Some might argue he has already achieved things. Our first cup final in 14 years for example, and a shot at another.

  4. Not a great performance against 10 men by any stretch, but it was Man Utd, who regard Villa Park as a home game with the amount of victories they've chalked up here in recent years. They are a very good side, even with 10 men.

Positives are many: good result on paper, we are still two points of 4th after two very difficult games, we are still in a very healthy position as we have a game in hand, spuds lost (at Wolves! :-)), Liverpool lost.

All in all, a good night for us, bar the toothless display for the last hour of the game.

Sidwell and Carew need to be sold in the summer and better quality brought in, without a doubt.

Do I think we're good enough for 4th spot yet? No.

  5. I am one of the 42 per cent trying to emmigrate. I am fed up with the nanny state, the corrupt politicians who are out of touch with the majority of us and the debt that is constantly sitting on our society as a result of bad decision making and relaxed banking laws. Change just isn't around the corner and I want out.

Where are you moving to? Everywhere has its problems.

Broken Britain is a term coined by the Tories and the right-wing media. and is a lot a shite.

Everything is tickety boo round our way. More or less.

  6. Last half hour was a mare to watch. We need to learn to keep the ball better, well keep the ball at all, especially from throw-ins. Long throw - concede possession, time and time again, in every game.

Happy with the point, defence was immense, but we showed little else which is worryingly becoming the norm in games like this.

  7. Tactically inept manager who can't attract quality players gets side regularly challenging for 4th and into a cup final.

How the hell did that happen then?

DundeeVilla I know you're a steadfast MON fan, so I can't change your view and I wouldn't want to anyway. I just don't believe MON can take us any further than 6th, I hope he proves me wrong in the future.

I'm honestly not a "steadfast fan" of anyone or anything except Aston Villa. I just think some of the stick O'Neill gets from the armchair managers on here is pretty laughable given where he's taken us from when he took over. For that he deserves our support , to see where he can take us from here.

  8. Great result, not many teams have gone there this season and won.

Excellent first half, indifferent second, although we still could have added another couple of goals.

Really can't see us losing this tie now.

Only gripe: We need to work on keeping the ball from throw ins. every time we throw it long down the line and lose possession!! So irritating.

  9. He is building Villa as his club. There is a real legacy to be built at Aston Villa, and that's what he's quietly going about doing. I don't think he would honestly be interested in Liverpool or Man U. Who needs that kind of hassle following Fergie (the impossible job) or working with the feuding yanks?

He's here for the forseeable long haul.
