I love the TT comes up with plane info lol would any of these planes be to do with the WWE tour which was in Bham yesterday and touring UK all week maybe?

Could be, but there are always more planes than the ones that i mention.

I mention the ones that might be connected, but I can always be wrong and dismiss ones that are connected!

The only person with his balls on the line today is Dinkleham on TBAR as he said the takeover would be announced on the stock exchange today. Which is as clear and testable a prediction as you can get.

Why would the sale of a private company be announced on the stock exchange?

If I were the owner of Dinkleham's balls, I would be a very worried man indeed.

Edit: Just seen TonyH's post. NYSE, so the potential buyer talked about is a US listed company. Phew!

  5. I should add that another jet, a private charter from NY, arrived on 15th and is still sitting on the tarmac.

As it is a private charter, it may just be awaiting its next job, or maybe to take back whoever it brought in.

It is also often used by Justin Bieber, who I believe is in Europe at the moment, so probable that he was the passenger and it is completely unrelated.

Hmm, i am not sure that I would be invited on to your team, unless I got the job of 'designated driver'!

I actually thought that one card was initially dealt in blackjack, not two. But then maybe we played different rules when I was at school.

But that's not bad for one person. There are four of us combining knowledge (and guesswork).

    You are most kind, sir.

You also now have me addicted to Quizup!

  8. Would be happy if Lambert was sacked now and IMO there is no point waiting for a new owner. At least once he is gone he won't be able to damage the club anymore.

What if a new owner doesn't come? We just carry on without a manager?

I would back Sid to get better results out of Lambert's players than Lambert himself.

  9. Thought I'd at least do the country one as its my chosen subject :)

    Landlocked countries

11 Which landlocked South American country lost its coastline to Chile?

12 Name the only TWO 'doubly landlocked' (i.e. totally surrounded by landlocked countries) countries in the world (one in central Europe, obe in central Asia)

13 Name TWO 'enclave' countries (i.e. totally surrounded by one other country) OTHER THAN The Vatican (one in Europe, one in Africa)

14 Name the world's largest landlocked country

15 Name the two countries that lost their access to the sea as a result of post-WW1 treaties

    11 - Bolivia

    12- Liechtenstein and Uzbekistan

13- Lesotho and nope can't think

    14- Kazakstan

15- got to be Hungary and probably by a default guess Austria as well

The other 13 begins with an L as well, capital Vaduz.

Told you that geography was the only thing I am good at ;)

  10. I was going to work out one of those spoiler things and have a go at Mike's questions.

Then I read the questions and thought it better not to embarrass myself.

I'm okay on the geography ones, but 21 has me intrigued.

  11.

If incomes were not so low for so many people, taxes would not be an issue. Low pay is the problem.

Wasn't the minimum wage introduced to eradicate low pay?
no it was there to ensure there was a degree of fairness. Dont forget the tory party did not want it and predicted wrongly that many businesses would go bust because of it.

The issue now is that many companies use it as the norm rather than what it should have been, ie a minimum. Ironically i read a report last couple of days about the many many company directors who are non doms to avoid taxes here in the uk. I suppose minimum wage or even god forbid a living wage would concern them

    Ah ha.

There's me, fingered as a Tory on here, and probably a baby eating one at that, and that was my observation then and has been consistent ever since.

Minimum wage - great idea, introduced with the best intentions, but it is now the wage, which is perhaps not so good.

  12. Don't know if it means anything but betfair and william hill have outfight refused to give me a price on Joshua Harris being the new owners after contacting there settlers

As a matter of interest, will they give a price on anyone being the next owner?

If they would, then it may be relevant, but I suspect that they are just not taking bets.

  13. I'm not worried.

I've been worried a lot in the past 4 years.

I've been worried about the managers we've hired, I've been worried about our wage bill, I've been worried about selling our better players, I've been worried about the calibre of players we have been bringing in, I've been worried about tactics, I've been worried about the style of football, I've worried about relegation, I've worried about ordering chips from Villa Park again after once finding a hair in them.

What I'm not worried about is that the man largely responsible for all of that is selling the club because "his heart is no longer in it". Well, my heart is still very much in it and the sooner he leaves the better. Bring it on.

I think that I was more worried in the first 4 years of Randy Lerner's tenure, because it was fairly obvious early on that we were in a car crash situation, with a psychopath at the wheel. The psychopath jumped out as the vehicle was hurtling along and we have been in intensive care ever since.

From here, surely things can only get better.

  14. Lerner has always flown into the UK for these 'planning' meetings hasn't he?

For them to fly out to him suggests he wants to say goodbye properly and, possibly, introduce them to their 'new employers' and have them discuss the handover/transitional period, imo.

    No.

There have been plenty of westbound flights of Villa people over the years of Randy Lerner's tenure. It is just that they fly on regular airlines, so their movement is less obvious.

  15. Exactly my point.

If it was Lerner meeting Lambert to discuss Interim bits, then you wouldn't do that in a fancy restaurant would you? You'd do it in an office, in a very business-like way. With flip charts and shit.

FWIW, I meet my owners in fancy restaurants - much more pleasant!

And 'flip charts'? Seriously? I very much doubt whether it would be that kind of discussion.

As for meeting the new owners, I think that the incumbent team manager is neither relevant nor significant to any potential new owners at this stage.

If Randy Lerner is not our owner at the start of next season, then Lambert won't be the manager. I am hopeful that, during this period of uncertainty, he gets the opportunity to go to Norwich or Celtic, or something like that, and he jumps ship.

  16. The real MM on H&V the other day said it was more of a strategy meeting to discuss plans for the interim period before a new owner comes on board.

If it is a strategy meeting, then better to take Sid as well.

Then when Lambert walks, the replacement is already ITK.

  17. Trees any planes or privater charters from america been about in BHX lately out of curiousity?

Nothing that I can even slightly relate to any of the rumoured suitors.

If the buyer is US, I guess that it is easier to meet up over there and maybe come and look when contracts are closer to conclusion.

There is a private jet charter in from NY later. No idea who is on it though.

  18. I'd be very surprised if an entire restaurant was closed for 3 people to have a meeting.

Must keep calm, must keep calm.

Kababish in Sutton closed one Sunday evening when Robbie Williams turned up and asked them to do so.

That's why I have never been there since.
