  1. In my time, Big Ron without a doubt. The football we played in our 2nd placed finish season wouldn't have looked out of place at the San Siro, Nou Camp or any of them. We were better than Manure that season, i don't care what any of the redscum say.
  2. General, i heard Randy was at the game today. Will he be here for the match against Wigan next Sunday? And how about you? Will you be coming over anytime soon? There will be a long queue of Villa fans eager to buy you and Randy a beer! This is a fantastic time to be a Villa fan. The best manager, the best chairman, the best directors a club could hope for! Up the Villa!
  3. Believe me or not, i care not, but i was speaking to somebody "well connected" with Leicester City today and i took it upon myself to ask about our supposed interest in their young lad Richard Stearman. Apparently there isn't any, but MON DID ask about another of their young stars, Aussie James Wesolowski (central midfield), after we beat them in the Carling Cup. MON was very impressed with what he saw. Watch this space.
  4. Randy gave us Randy - Ellis, by his own admission, did his best to screw up the deal by giving him a "hard time". Villa "through and through"? Sorry mate, but i just don't buy it. The "gold and black blood" running through his veins bears testimony to that. But i don't want to turn this thread sour so let's just get back to the love-in with the General. For the record, i certainly don't want The Doug Ellis Stand reverted back to The Witton Lane Stand while the man is still alive. That would show massive disrespect and show us all up as hypocrites seeing as that's something we've all accused Ellis of in the past. Randy wouldn't do that anyway - he's already proven he has too much class to do something like that. After he's "passed away" would be the time to reopen this discussion because there are far more deserving candidates to have a Stand named after them but that's for another day.
  5. General, I would like to thank you, Mr Lerner and Mr O'Neill for waking my beloved club from the coma it has been in for over two decades. I now support an Aston Villa being run the way it should be, the way it deserves to be - with repect, skill and vision. I certainly don't excpect miracles overnight. It will take years to get us to where we all want to be but i see that as a positive. We've got years of progress and improvement to look forward to - a complete contrast to what we had become used to. We WILL achieve again for two reasons: 1) The leadership provided by you and Mr Lerner off the field - the best board of directors a club could wish for. 2) The leadership of Mr O'Neill, Mr Robertson and Mr Walford on the field - the best management team a club could wish for. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. Aston Villa means a hell of a lot to a hell of a lot of people and you should be proud of the fact that you've managed to put the smiles back onto tens of thousands of people's faces where misery once reigned. I salute you sir. Simon
  6. It certainly will not as far as i'm concerned. Him and his band of merry mystery men can "promise" MON £100m for all i care - it won't mean a thing. AV06 have conducted their business in a very amateurish and shit-stirring way and i have no desire to see people with morals like that running my club.
  7. PM him, i'm sure he won't keep it a secret! Certainly not anymore!
  8. Thats a good question and one that deserves an answer imo. If that is the case Lerner will not be in a position to give MON any money in this window! £lie$ and Petchey have agreed to hand over their shares to Lerner. Basically, Lerner now has 56% of the shares. There's virtually NO chance Neville, Padfield or Still will be able to do anything now.
  9. Well if he wants a lie in, he deserves it after the effort he's put in over the years in trying to make this day a reality. Mission Accomplished.
  10. That's music to my ears HH. Anybody else fear waking up in a minute?!
  11. I love you Howard! I was there at the leisure centre meeting and i was among those who gave you that standing ovation. You have every reason to be delighted after the work you put in in commissioning that report (which i still have, incidentally). Something happened today... something good...
  12. And guess what talkSPORT are talking about? That's right, Chelsea...
  13. :D :D Thanks for the update trees!
