I’m somebody who hears tit bits from time to time and passes them on to you lot to rip apart before generally being proven right!

I’m not in the know and never profess to be!!
However for anybody that can be bothered to look back at the Dean Smith thread, you’ll see I called his appointment before anybody else.
Same source has told me Benrahma is done.
The exciting striker is Belotti of Torino - he’s in advanced talks but it could go down to deadline day.
Make of it what you will.

One more to come I think
An exciting wide forward who can play up top too - Maupay plan B, who’s plan A?!
Heaton, Steer
Guilbert, Elmo
Engels, Konsa, Chester
Mings, Hause
Targett, Taylor
Luiz, Houihane
McGinn, Marvelous
Grealish, Lansbury
NEW, Jota
El Ghazi, Trezeguet
Wesley, Kodjia
Kalinic, Nyland, Bikir, Tishbola, Hogan need to be sold
Bree, JDH, O’Hare, Green, Ramsey, RHM, Davis all need a loan
-
What else did that guy on Twitter/Facebook predict as seemingly he knew his stuff!
Very excited by this signing, even if we only have him 1-2 years.
-
Robinson to Sheffield united could mean Maupay to us?
-
I honestly hold out hope that we can get Tuanzabe and Abraham back on loan. I don’t see an issue with the loans of those two players given we’ve already had them - they’re in positions we need and will give continuity from last season. We can’t buy in every position we need this year, it would be too expensive, this delays too important signings until next summer.
GK - Butland (loan to buy)
CB - Tuanzabe (loan)
DM - Phillips (20m)
DM - Hayden (10m)
RW - Benrahma (15m)
LW - Trézéguet (loan to buy)
ST - Abraham (loan)
I doubt we’ll get 7, but I honestly think that Green needs to be loaned, hence another winger needed and we need two DM’s as if say Phillips gets injured we can’t be playing Houihane or Lansbury in that position without being murdered!
-
Hergazi and Mings would be a heavy weight central partnership!
-
I reckon we’ll end up getting him on a loan with option to buy towards the end of the window.

I like it, I'm sold now. Get him in.
Looks good left and right hand side

My thoughts on where we up to, starting XI, subs and squad:-
GK - ?
RB - Guilbert
CB - ?
CB - Mings
LB - Targett
DM - ?
RW - ?
CM - Grealish
CM - McGinn
LW - El Ghazi
ST - Wesley
Subs - Steer, Hause, Elmo, Houihane, Jota, Kodjia, ?
Squad - Nyland, Chester, Taylor, Lansbury, Tishbola + kids
-
?
Guilbert ? (Mings) Targett
? McGinn
(Behrahmi) Grealish El Ghazi
Wesley
Steer, Nyland, Elmo, Chester, Hause, Taylor, Tishbola, Lansbury, Jota, Hourihane, Green, Kodjia + the kids
Outs:-
Kalinic
Bikir
Hogan
-
There’s a few of us that need to chill out a little bit!!

We need two centre backs (eg Mings & Webester) and two defensive midfielders (eg Hayden & Phillips). These positions are priority!
Then in order RW, ST, GK
If we don’t get the additional striker or goalkeeper then I still think we’d be ok.
At at least one CB and one DM is vital ASAP!
-
Linked with David Trezeguet - Egypt winger!
-
If it is to be Butland, Mings and Webster coming in as our starting back 3, with Steer, Hause and Chester as back up, I’d be happy with that!

Would love Butland! Quality no.1 - sell Kalinic and Nyland.
I winder if we’ll get another striker too or whether we’ll go with Wesley, Kodjia, Davis and RHM.

With john Percy reporting this, it seems very much on as he generally on the money!
Exciting signing, but a word of caution. The Belgian league is worse than the championship and he has scored far less than Tammy - could this be seen as a downgrade?
-
Jota
El ghazi
Hause
Mings
Butland
Benrahma
That would be a very good start to the window. Four first teamers and Jota and Hause as squad players.
-
I would love Benrahma and Maupay - but what would be even better is for Smith to find some more players like this for the price he paid for them for Brentford!! They really have got some bargains!

We not got 2 lb already? Doubt we be in for him
I count 1 - Taylor. We need a first choice.
-
I’d take Moreno on a free - only 26!

Very interesting watch.
Some interesting points - makes you realise how hard next year is going to be - especially if we don’t sign most of the 5 loan players!
It would be understandable if we signed players such as Jota, Etheridge etc. On realistic wages and reasonable fees as opposed to spending millions on more “glamorous” signings. At least then if we got relegated we’d have a team we could keep to come straight back up.
It’s a business at the end of the day.

Tricky one. I want Smith in the job long term, but can we afford relegation?
I’m sure spurs ideally wanted to persist with Pochetino, but there was a point where they had to make a change and so far it has improved their fortunes.
I’m not sure what I’d do, anything less than 4 points from the next 2 games and I think the board will be forced to make a change!
