Huge win today. If Arsenal do their job next week, and we get something against Chelsea…
-
Today will be a sliding doors moment for us this season, win and it’s a huge step to 4th. Lose and let spurs in with a chance. Either way, the lads deserve some praise. They’ve been superb.

I can see Dortmund and Bayern not winning either game in the semis, but I cannot see Leverkusen not getting through. Shame we won’t see Angeball in the CL next season.
-
My god we’ve been bad. I don’t even think Lille have played that well.

Emery masterclass talk coming up. We’ll win this 1-3

This feels like the Sheff Utd game the week after we beat city and arsenal.

Didn’t want Spurs in the CL anyway.

Villa win the next two and Spuds are done I think...
Beating Bournemouth would really put pressure on Spurs - but I guess the danger is taking that for granted after today’s performance. Brentford could be the best thing that happened to us.

Lost for words on this man. His work with us just highlights the ridiculous abuse for what it was when he was at Arsenal. The best manager we have had in the Premier League era, and perhaps for a long time before that also.

Think we've secured 6th now guys
Careful now.

That probably rules Bournemouth out of the race. Phew.

Bournemouth clearly going to catch us for Champions league.

If Utd fail to beat Bournemouth today it would have been like a win for us. Excellent stuff.

Newcastle is a wonderful city filled with wonderful people. But I hope they don’t get carried away and that they lose next week.

Liverpool could still win next week and go out and get coefficient points. Same as West Ham. Think we need Arsenal to do the business though.
That is true, but it’s the lost opportunity for future coefficient points in the next two rounds that will hurt us.
I think you’re right, Arsenal vs Bayern is a playoff of sorts for us.- 1

Just wait for West Ham and Leverkusen’s game. This thread will bring the internet down.

As I said, relax they won’t see this out.

Relax. No way United see this out, and even if they do they still won’t catch us.

Which they will of course
We’ve all been bitten a lot of times in the past with optimism, but the stats and probabilities make it incredibly likely we are top 5 now.
We’ve just got to bite the bullet and support Liverpool and City in European competitions now to give us a fall back of 5th place.- 1

If 5th becomes enough, and say we beat Brentford this weekend and Utd lose to Liverpool, Villa mathematically would only need 7 points from 6 games to be certain of qualification - and that’s if Utd win all their remaining 7 games.

A free hit. If we do win and Utd fail to tomorrow night - well I won’t say it, but you know what I’m thinking.

Plymouth have been shocking since Foster took over, but they were hurt by us recalling Azaz and Kesler In January. I don’t think Souza is quite having the experience of Azaz or Kesler there.
Warnock likely to be incoming, and he’s not famous for bloody kids in relegation battles.

This kid is 20 years old. Hes going to be one hell of a player by the end

Grew into it today. Those boss runs were great, but I felt his decision making wasn’t great. Could have released the ball earlier. That said, he’s making good progress. I can see why Emery likes him.
Would you swap?

I think I’d swap Gidman and Ashley Young (just) over the current selections above. But I genuinely think this is the best squad of players we have ever had at the moment.
