I think probably a few factors in it.

    1. The lack of any transport links improvement which would be a big risk to us hosting Euro 28 games or rule us out

    2. Financially 8000 extra seats doesn't raise our revenue enough, especially as tickets and march day as a % of overall revenue is shrinking not growing

3 Losing a stand for 2 years is not great for the team and home atmosphere. It would also lose us important income for two seasons when FFP is tight.

4 When looking at the pure numbers to Heck there is room for ticket price increases as Villa are doing well and there is a huge waiting list for season tickets. Also improving the facilities at VP can generate more revenue by having people spend more time at VP.

You add all these up and you get a list of factors to say, this isn't the right time to knock down a stand. Can go back to drawing board and look at something post 2028 that makes more financial sense.

So we are never going to upgrade Villa Park based on the above. There is never a good time to knock a stand down.

Using the success on the pitch to massively back track on their plans. Don’t even get me started on the joke of a logo.

Not having a go at you btw,. I have a bad feeling about all this, that’s all.

I think the comparison to Leicester comes because its a shock to people that a "none big 6 team" can win the league.
Not my view just the views of none villa fans. So basically Spurs winning the title wouldn't be a shock, But Villa would be, even tho we finished above them last season. It's odd.

Spurs have been in the mix though for the last 8 or so years so I get it but, it would still be a big shock if either us or Spurs were to win it.

And we shouldn’t have lost two of those really, we were the better team against Leicester but gifted them the win and at 2-2 against arsenal Bailey hits the bar and a few mins later arsenal get lucky with a shot hitting the bar and then Martinez before going in.

Completely agree on the above, fine margins in both the Leicester and Arsenal games. Oddly we probably played a better 90 minutes against Arsenal in the above game than we did the weekend but, lost. Leicester had a few new signings in that day who had their best games and were then poor for the rest of the season!

  4. Was delighted when he was made captain, yes it was harsh on Mings at the time but I prefer a midfielder as captain as they will more often than not be able to impact the game more. Don’t think he is a massive talker on the pitch but he doesn’t need to be when he’s playing like he is. Always prefer a captain to do their talking with their feet, attitude, work rate etc. McGinn sets the tempo and if he’s on it, it lifts every player round him.

SJM is also a top bloke who is very humble and has time for everyone, couldn’t think of any other player I would rather have representing our great club like he does!

  5. Been poor all season, looks nowhere near the level needed atm. Constantly gives the ball and fouls away. Seen nothing in him to even have a glimmer of hope. If we can get a few in during the January transfer window I would bin him off, we aren’t a charity.

Jogged off so hopefully nothing serious. Most likely a little tired, worked hard for Scotland.

He went down about 10 minutes before he went off and looked to have landed on his hip, was holding it after that.

Genuinely do not think, the football we are playing is as good that which we were afforded under Big Ron - but equally I feel that Unai will surpass everything that Big Ron achieved with us.

I don’t necessarily disagree but the standard of the league is miles better now and far more technical. What Emery has achieved is more impressive given the standard.

  8. Wouldn’t know he’d been called up reading the media, it’s all about the wonder kids, Lewis and Palmer. Konsa has been consistently good for over 3 years now and has also had to adapt to playing with a new  defensive partner but gets next to no media coverage!
