Perpetrators of domestic abuse are often the most charming people, but it's an act. Victims of domestic abuse are often so afraid they cannot get away, they pretend everything is ok. It all feeds into the downward spiral. This is a difficult situation dude. The healthcare professional will be duty-bound to act, and will be able to protect your confidentiality. 

It's going to crap for us. The leading edge of the baby boomers is just getting proper old and the NHS is buckling. When we are all old there will be insufficient health workers, money and facilities.

Get some evidence (record it), tell the son and the healthcare professional and show them the evidence. It will get physical in the end. It really doesn't matter how loud she shouts "Put the batteries in your hearing aid". Gross lack of insight brought on by anger maybe.

Working for the health services and knowing how the top brass operate I have a fairly solid idea of what would have happened to her.

Agreed. I would imagine she will have been suspended on the spot. Where I work, if you are suspended you are not allowed to communicate with any work colleagues, the hospital spin machine then goes into action. Full on blame culture. She will have believed that she will never work as a Nurse again, she may have believed she will go to prison, she may have believed she will be killed for passing on sensitive information about a Royal.

Just started watching this new Canadian sci-fi series called Continuum.

On episode 3, and its really good.

Started watching after this post, just finished episode 4. Thanks for the recommendation. However when I first looked for it I came across a youtube series called Continuum and watched it all. 5 minute episodes of the cheapest most Sci-Fi, so amateurish it's addictive.
