  1. Incredible so far. Significant graphical upgrade is striking. It looks great, which really didn’t come through in any of the trailers.

Ultrahand is incredibly intuitive, with just the right amount of nudging in the right direction early on.

    Spoiler

Thought the events of the opening cut scene were a bit rushed. Interesting use of a significant name from OoT (Rauru), though.

Is that right? Looking at the list the two games are around the 100 pound total, so are you saying I can get both for £84?

Yep, definitely. Saw it myself last night. Just requires an Online membership.

  3. For anyone looking to buy BotW and TotK, Nintendo Online members can buy a game voucher for £84 which is valid for any two games from a decent list. Both Zeldas are available on it so saves a fair bit of cash.

  4. Not reading any reviews in full as I want to go in as blind as possible but these words from the top of the Guardian’s make it sound fairly promising:

”Occasionally a game comes along that makes you look at life in a whole new way.”

    Blimey.

  5. I really can’t **** wait for this. Insanely excited. Feel like a kid getting Ocarina of Time again. I had my issues with BotW but by all accounts, this game takes all the best things about it and goes above and beyond. Plus an awful lot of new stuff, including:

    Spoiler

    MASSIVE dungeons.

My main issue is going to be, as a grown adult with responsibilities, finding enough time to play it. Could do with another lockdown tbh…

Only 3 minutes of added time in a game with multiple subs, dozens of fouls and two breaks for head injuries.

That’s probably as bad a ‘decision’ as I’ve seen this season because it wasn’t open to the ‘subjective’ defence. It was provably, measurably, objectively wrong. If the BBC data is accurate there were six substitution stoppages (not including Bailey at HT), which alone should cover a minimum of 3 minutes. (Unless the 30 seconds thing is a myth?)

Not that I think we would’ve scored if we’d played all night but it was such obvious bullshit that the ref really should be held accountable, on principle.

  7. Bah. One of the most frustrating games I’ve watched in ages. Could’ve played all night and not scored. We weren’t bad but lacked composure and a decent bounce in and around the box. Had enough chances to win comfortably.

I had a feeling that the levels needed for the Newcastle performance might make us feel a bit flat afterwards.

All the reasons you cite for your dislike of Newcastle is nothing more than envy, nothing more nothing less.

    Absolute bollocks.

If you want to set your morals aside to support a team owned by murderers, war criminals and human rights abusers then fine, but others are going to have an issue with it. It’s instinct for most decent people to not want such people to succeed. I love watching Villa but, ultimately, football is a game and I wouldn’t continue to support us if we were in the same situation.

The Newcastle fans who’ve embraced it because their team might win a few more football matches should be ashamed and I’d suggest that makes you a pretty shitty person.

Just watched that Humphrey chap (CEO I think at Wrexham) on BT Sport and his general football knowledge is shockingly poor, hope he’s a better businessman than he is a football-person.

Another Eton old boy. Funny how they always manage to fall into these positions eh. His wife is a writer on recent seasons of Sunny and does the podcast. Mentioned on one of them that he was in William’s class.

I remember finding it mildly annoying when watching one of the episodes of Welcome to Wrexham that Reynolds and McElhenney seemed to see him as their man of the people.

Still no sight of dungeons, sigh. The Divine Beasts from the first game were very lackluster.

I’m hoping that there’s a lot that they’re keeping up their sleeve. I understand why and liked the way they changed things up a bit with BotW but replaying OoT, MM and SS since has made me realise how much I miss dungeons.

I’m glad it wasn’t just me who didn’t like the Divine Beasts. They were really dull IMO. Based on what I read before I played it, I expected something along the lines of Shadow of the Colossus, so they were even more of a let down.

I’ve got a love/hate relationship with BotW. It’s one of my favourite games of all time and I’ve sunk hundreds of hours into playing it repeatedly but, weirdly, I also think it’s overrated. There are some incredible moments and the controls and combat are a dream but it’s got a fair few significant flaws. It’s so, so repetitive and exploration becomes a bit of a chore after a while. When you do your millionth trial by combat shrine, you realise that there isn’t all that much variation within the game.

I’ll still be getting TotK on release day though and got very high hopes for it!

Mostly the new abilities, new areas (compared to BOTW) but nothing that will spoil the story.

    Thanks mate.

I caved and watched it. Not too much that hasn’t been seen in the trailers.

Without that red I think England would have won this.

I’m not sure. England’s attack has been very poor and wasn’t much better with 15. I can’t recall us even coming close to scoring a try.

  13. I completely understand the defender’s duty of care and how seriously any head contact needs to be taken - within the letter of the law it might well have been the correct decision - but if that’s a red card then the rules are ****. It was a unavoidable collision and Keenan has moved into Steward. Their needs to be something into the rules that prevents contests being ruined by complete accidents.
