If xia thought RDM was the man how the  hell do you know what he’s thinking now .

Derby have already held talks with lampard over the managers job , gerrard got the rangers job , why is John terry such a non starter for consideration at a championship club he’s captained .

Well for starters i haven't said or claimed to have known what he is thinking. Also i dont know why you keep bringing up Gerrard getting a job and Lampard being in talks for one? You seem pretty convinced that this is a good idea based on absolutely nothing other than Terry was a good player and has played under some good managers.

  2. Playing under great managers and taking your badges means absolutely nothing, nor does how good a player you were. You think he will be very good at it, fine. I don't, we obviously don't know whos right or wrong since he hasn't been tried but i m sorry theres just no way Terry will be considered for the Villa job based on absolutely nothing at this point.

Who says he will play next  year ? Most close to him think he will announce retirement - JT and lampard would be an interesting management team but would need an experienced head behind the scenes - as long as it’s not RDM. ;)

‘All managers start somewhere - who thought wenger or mourinho would be any good until they were given a chance .

‘Certainly wouldn’t want him as a player manager though

Really? I've seen nothing but things about China or the US. Everyone does start somewhere but thats not really an excuse to just go trying anyone.

  4. I thought everyone meant selling him to a prem team or something, all ive seen is WBA, Stoke and Swansea ffs, why on earth would we sell to 3 teams we will be aiming to be competing with? Also why would we sell our best player to any of them in any circumstances anyway especially WBA :D

If they have the audacity to even declare an interest i would love to be the one crafting the response.

  5. I said straight away id like him to move on but it got me thinking. 2-3 months into the season of a new appointment what if were just mid table somewhere thinking to ourselves "Well shit, at least Bruce would have had us up there". I don't like his football but i don't want the risk of us just being stuck in the championship for a decade either.

I’d rather go with green and use snoddys wages elsewhere next season .

Well Green is another topic for his own thread but i don't think theres a comparison at this point between the two. One (Snoddy) has made a huge impact on our season and one hasn't.

Well at least Bruce seem to think so, as he keeps mentioning it almost in every interview.

I agree, it shouldn't be used as an excuse.

All managers say it, Monk said something about a "Big, historic club" when he took over at Blues, what the **** in the world is big and historic about the blues?

Would hardly be career suicide managing the Villa. We are still a big club, with a proud history. Just look at our fantastic away support. Stop the hyperbole.

Are we really a big club though, how long can we keep saying it as some kind of reason as to why we should be doing better but then consistently be average/poor?

  9. Might just be emotional from the defeat but i think he should move on now. Way too negative, Fulham came out to win the final we only came out to defend and when we went 1-0 down early we had no answer too it.

Only just over a year ago he was promoted to be fair to him.

Doh, was mainly thinking about the ancient blues promotions. I think there was a point in there somewhere though

It was that i dont see how he expects us to get better purely because he keeps repeating the fact that hes been promoted before.

  11. One of the issues here is Bruce has said a few times that his record is good in this league and hes done it all before like that means anything now. Just because you've been promoted before (the last time was when?) it doesn't mean you will be again if you just do everything you did then and just throw a team out.

All he has done this summer is resigned an iffy goalkeeper and then a few ageing premierleague rejects. Solid plan.

Most threads are getting bunged up - so I'll put this here as it vaguely relates to John Terry.

Whilst his signing didn't particularly worry me on it's own, it does tie in with everything else. The commentary seemed to mention and lot of "being torn apart" today... are we too slow? Hutton, Chester, Terry, Taylor, Whelan/Jedinak as your defensive 5 has very little pace. Is this a problem, or did Cardiff pass it round us today?

I know Chester, Hutton and Taylor aren't exactly rapid but they aren't slugs either. Their 3 goals didn't come from our 5 being totally done for pace.

  13. The rational side of me knows that sacking someone after 2 games is crazy but i honestly don't see much changing. We've played similarly to that ever since he arrived. How long can you keep defending him with the time argument?

Following Villa these past few years has been **** shit. Fed up with it all now.

  14. Already been said above but surely he has to be worried after today, Bacuna ahead of him to start and he is **** dreadful and has been for 3 years and then the kid we signed two days ago even gets on before him. Inbelievable stuff.

  15. New season full of hopes with a decent squad for this level and were left with a dire 1-1 draw and him throwing on Chris **** Samba on as a striker in the last few minutes, how ridiculous was that? I was embarrassed just watching but it sums Bruce and his philosophy up.

Subs and team selection was dreadful and we played exactly how we did under him last season, will be more of the same. Nothing Bruce has ever done anywhere in the last 10 years has been any different so im pissed off i let myself believe he would be different here.

I actually expect him to succeed, you don't get promoted on 4 occasions without some ability as a manager.

Two of those were over a decade ago now werent they? Its a very different time. Plus has he not been utterly useless and then sacked once hes actually got into the bigger division?

She's also a really good actress.

If thats the reason they chose her then i applaud them, i honestly do. I'll be happier when the fact that someone is a women or black or white is excluded from an article about a casting or an appointment though.
