I was responding to the claim that we 'stopped playing' which is false and another stick to beat Smith with.

The evidence suggests that we do give up late in games or after we take the lead, there's empirical evidence to back that up. there doesn't need to be any more sticks to beat him with there's already a mountain of them.

People seem to be criticising him or defending him based on emotions or their personal feelings towards him, i think he's done a poor job based on the evidence, nothing more.

Funny that, I recall us nearly scoring a second.

Not sure if youve seen a football match before but a team can be playing poorly and nearly score a goal. For the record aswell i dont think that could ever be considered "nearly scoring a goal".

  3. Not the first time hes shirked a good chance because hes got no bottle. We're not going down because of his miss today but lets be honest this is not the type of player you need when you're in a relegation scrap. We just needed you to throw yourself at it and take one for the team, that 3 points would have been so huge for us thats the most disappointing thing. If someone is shit but they give it a go its easier to take but having neither makes you really unlikeable.

    So the Championship then.

We should be aiming to win this league, Promotion at least.

Some of those players are not going to be playing in the championship but also i honestly think this team would struggle to get into the playoffs. The two strikers couldnt hit a cows arse with a banjo for a start, not a personal attack on you either by the way i just sincerely hope our team looks nothing like that.

Yes agreed. Good players seldom make a good manager .. just have to look at the likes of Maradonas/Zidane etc . Maybe it’s the fact they have  exceptional natural talent & ability , so there’s no urgent need to develop other skill like game strategy / games intelligence / organization skill/ team formation  etc in their playing days , but these very  are important skill sets you need as a manager now.

How is Zidane just casually tossed into the same sentence as Maradona when were talking about being a manager?

  6. He's been absolute shit since we returned but i do really think he'd be more of an asset in the championship than anyone else in the squad that could realistically stay assuming he can get fit and return to the energy levels he had pre injury because its easy to forget just how infectious he was. Everyones angry and emotional at the state were in and pretty much every player is catching strays at the moment understandably but he's definitely on the keep list for me.

  7. Such a shame as hes a Villa fan, seemingly a really nice guy but he just has to go now. Losing games is one thing but losing the players and managing a team that cant even score a goal is beyond bad.

  8. Really is a depressing club at the moment, never thought we'd turn into one of these pointless yo-yo clubs that never really do anything but go down and come back up to fight relegation and then go back down again and rinse and repeat.

I think its been well documented that there is a team in charge of transfers and its not all the managers decisions.

Its been documented? The only thing ive ever seen is we have a sporting director like a lot of other clubs do, where are all these documents saying the signings or some of them arent the managers decisions?

Do you really think loads of top prem forwards were available and desperate to come?

We **** up in the summer.

Wesley, davis and Kodjia. Wish people would remember this when they expect us to get all these points off other teams.

He bought Wesley for over 20m so using him being useless as a defence is absolutely bizarre. Lets all just accept that Smith is amazing and none of this is his fault because we cant buy world class players. I hate people who present a nonsense argument nobody was making and then counter it.

I expect hit and misses from the transfer market, except there has been no hits, in the attacking department atleast and then people want to say its not his fault we cant score? Who's fault is it then?

Got it right today and let down by the lack of quality in attacking positions. We got into promising positions and couldn’t create a real chance.

Liverpool have the ability to score at any time against any opposition. We look completely toothless and I’m not sure that there’s any way of solving that issue with the players at his disposal.

Then why did he buy half the players at his disposal? Who's fault is it that we cant score because every attacking player he has bought has been dire? We had money for a striker in january and we spent it on Samatta who looks as useless as the rest of his signings and cant even get on ahead of a youth product who cant score himself.

This an an embarrassing state of affairs, Smith and this Jesus guy are both to blame for the absolute lack of quality we have in this team.

  12. What happened to playing football and pressing aswell? When he first came in and even at the start of the season we seemed to be playing a pretty decent style and were positive. The team we've put out the last 5-6 games has looked like a Lambert era team. It really has been utterly abject

  13. Really love Deano for what hes done for us but if we want to stay up we simply have to make a change, same formation and faces every week, people know exactly how were going to play. No plan b, subs always 20 minutes late. Atrocious. Sorry Deano its time to go.
