Absolutely gutted with that. Conceding 4 goals at home in a European semi is absolutely unacceptable. Literally everything went wrong for us.
1- Disallowed goal at the start. Soft.
2- Penalty shout. Defender got a touch on the ball, which put the ball onto Bailey's path and gives him an advantage, then fouls him. Pen for me.
3- Penalty conceded. Was a pen tbf.
4- Deflected goal. Shit.
5- Penalty miss. Luiz had an absolute shocker of a game and had a chance to redeem himself. Literally never misses and finally does so in the biggest game in the season so far.
So much to do in the second leg. Atmosphere is going to be extremely hostile and I just don't see us winning by 3 goals. 2 goals to draw the tie and send it to pens would be a miracle.

We've been awful and deserve to lose, but **** hell this ref....
-
Pretty much everything has gone wrong tonight.
-
I think we've **** it
-
2 very, very poor performances in a row. What the **** is going on?
-
Gonna be **** impossible to break these down now.
-
Giving them something to hold into in the first leg is a **** nightmare. Feel like it's gonna be really hard to break them down.

I feel like I need to preface this by saying that 7 points out of 9 from Bournemouth, Arsenal and Chelsea is a good return, and I'm sure if we swapped the Chelsea & Arsenal results we'd be pretty happy. Still in a strong position for 4th and still riding high after what's been a fabulous season.
But **** hell that was bloody awful. Why is it that we seem to look so much worse when we have a full week (almost) to prepare? I don't understand what the game plan was at all. I get that there's times where you stand off a bit and let them have the ball, especially if they're not looking like really doing anything with it and we can catch them on the break, but even when Chelsea looked dangerous and it was inevitable that they were going to do something we STILL stood off them. No pressure at all. Just gave them the ball back time and time again and stood back.
Also....playing out from the back. I absolutely get that it's part of how we play and we've done great things by sticking with it in the past, but there's a time and place for it, and there's times when you simply have to get the ball out quicker. We got caught out today and conceded a goal that was absolutely avoidable.

That's 100% a foul surely
-
Why the absolute **** are we just standing off them!? This is **** ridiculous
-
26% possession at home to a shit Chelsea side. Wtf are we doing......
-
Whenever we have a rest we always seem to come out with zero energy.
-
I just don't why we aren't even trying to press. We're just giving it back to them and immediately sitting back.
There's a time and a place for playing out from the back as well..
-
What the **** are we doing?
-
Can we have our ball back please
-
Huddersfield have a habit of helping the blosers avoid being flushed. Do the entire football world a favour FFS.

Couple of midfielders and a RB ideally.
It'll be interesting to see if we do anything at CB. I imagine that Lenglet will be going back to Barca, but there's a question mark over Mings and how well he'll be coming back. It looked like a bloody nasty one judging by his social media posts. I really do hope that he's able to come back and play regularly for us again.

Is that our first penalty conceded this season?
-
So they need to make sure they do better than Sheff Wed and Huddersfield. Blose probably have the easiest run in, but if Sheff Wed win tomorrow and Huddersfield beat the them next........then I might do a sex wee.

I've seen a couple of posts from them saying how "smalltime" it'd be if we did a bus parade if we went all the way and won the Conference League. Aside from the obvious, being that they're the experts in all things small time, a few points:
1) I'm sure they'd all give their extra fingers to just be in the Premier League for starters, let alone finish high enough in the table to qualify for the Conference League.
2) As above, it's a difficult competition to qualify for in the first place. Finishing top 6/7 in the Premier League is no easy task.
3) There's some bloody tough teams in this competition. Ajax, Lille, Olympiakos, Fiorentina, Fenerbahce - not teams to be sniffed at, especially away from home.
4) It doesn't matter whether it's a "new" competition or not.
5) Mate

Bloody hell. It's nothing short of a bloody miracle that we got through that (a miracle by the name of Emi **** Martinez).
What a weird, weird game. We were without a doubt second best in pretty much all departments. It's not entirely unexpected, since Lille were well rested and we were likely still knackered from the Arse game on Sunday. Very frustrating game to watch. It was baffling how many times we had a good clean break with green grass in front of us and we decided to stop and go backwards. On too many occasions we went for the Hollywood ball rather than the much easier pass to guys in space.
All that said, as the saying goes - good teams find a way through even when not at their best. We found a way to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, and I think we'll be better for it having gone through a game like this. It's shown the level that we need to be at. We knocked out possibly the 2nd best team in the competition, but we absolutely need to make sure we don't show any complacency by thinking that the cup is won just because we got through possibly the hardest tie. Every team in the competition at this stage will be tough.
Let's keep it going. UTV!

Stop going for the **** Hollywood ball.

We're really playing scared. Even when we have open space Infront of us we don't want to run in to it. We've shown what happens when we apply a bit of pressure. I feel like we're going to try and play for pens and come unstuck. Please, please prove me wrong...

Don't really like laying into our players, but there's a very noticeable drop off when he plays. You can feel the nerves amongst the back line, and our build up play from the back is nowhere near as sharp. It also feels like he's always in 2 minds as to whether to come off his line for corners or through balls so he ends up in no man's land. Just doesn't have the commanding presence that you need, especially to play the way that we do.
