  1. I know I'm probably alone in this, but I hope Terry doesn't stay on for another year. He is taking up the wages of three players, generally he has been good but not that good, and he won't be any better next season.

He isn't a right back, but at least he can whip in a cross, which the majority of our squad seem to be utterly incapable of.

I certainly wouldn't call him a good crosser. Although he has put a number of good crosses in this season, he is just as likely to kick it straight out or hit the first man, he's very inconsistent in that respect. I certainly don't rate him as a defender, and I'm a little surprised that his shortcomings haven't been exposed as often as I thought they would, but he still justifies selection by allowing Snodgrass to cut infield when he overlaps.

Bree just doesn't seem to be particularly good at anything.

If he feels that he's fit enough, would like to see him start against Cardiff. He looks sharper than the other strikers do right now.

We only seemed to start playing today once he came on, he seemed to be giving it his all compared to the others. I don't think I would put him at risk of being clogged out of it by Cardiff though, let somebody else take the lumps from the start, it is a dead rubber for us.

    One win in 9 ? It’s 4 in 9 - still not good enough though !

Sorry, thought i heard the commentator say 1 in 9 and i didn't bother checking cos i just seem to remember us not winning much lately.

  5. It's a good job we have an experienced bunch of players that can handle the pressure and expectation, an inspirational captain and leader, and a manager who knows what is required in this division, or this run of one win in nine could have been really bad.

Whilst on my soapbox........the pathetic, fawning tweets the likes of kirsty gallacher receive from sad men, some of whom believe in their own world that they might have a chance with them.

No attempt to engage Kirsty Gallacher in intercourse should ever be sneered at. I applaud each and every one of those sad sacks for their efforts. Reach for the stars, lads!

  7. I think Chester has certainly been the better of the two this season. Terry has had some very good games but also some stinkers.

  8. Bruce isn't a tactics genius, he admits that himself, which is why he needs good coaches. His strengths are supposedly man management and motivation. Terry is supposedly a great motivator and inspirational leader. How any of that squares with the lack of determination our team so often shows is baffling, but suggests that neither has as big a positive influence in this area as claimed.

^This disheartens me as a football enthusiast. That people need to look at a stats sheet in order to quantify someone's quality.

You watch the game, you should see someones (Grealish's) contributions.

Of course stats don't tell you everything, but they do tell you something, perhaps not 'quality' as such, but certainly more relevant to effectiveness.

The obvious elephant in the room is that he has only got one goal this season, even though he has got a good shot on him and has been getting into scoring positions. He should be capable of getting close to double figures in a full season in the Championship, so to only have a single goal is disappointing and an area that he should certainly look to improve on.

I don't judge him just on statistics and I'm not having a dig at him, I think he is a good player with scope for improvement. People may think it is valid to disregard key stats for whatever reason, but if he continues to improve as a player those stats will also improve, so they probably do offer some reflection of his contribution.

If he is going to move his game up a level, there does indeed need to be more end product from him. People may have different views on exactly what that means, but at the end of the day the only stats that matter are the number of goals for and against your team. He will always catch the eye, but if he isn't creating chances, directly or indirectly, then he isn't really performing the role effectively.

  10. Last time Bruce got through the playoffs with Hull he underachieved with possibly the best squad in the division. Brighton were easily the best team of the playoff candidates but had some horrific luck with injuries which put them out, and Hull were left with beating a poor Sheff Wednesday team in the final.

So I certainly wouldn't rule us out of getting up via the playoffs, even if we aren't the best team.

so using the logic of a lot of our own fans, Fulhams season is over they've bottled it by not beating QPR at home. won't stand a chance in the play offs because they haven't beaten QPR. what a disaster.

... and maybe they are right.

He admitted his experience told him to make 5 or 6 changes.....I think the emphatic win on Saturday influenced him.

He should have gone with his head and he went with his heart.

He said it was his fault....HANDS IN THE AIR.

They have to be left alone now....to do their job.

I told one of my Hull City supporting mates about Bruce's comments, and he said he had made exactly the same comments several times when he was there. You would maybe expect such an experienced manager to have learned from a repeated mistake.

  13. Bruce hasn't built anything for the future here. Our own youngsters have barely had a sniff of the first team, with the enforced exception of Davis. He has gambled everything on well paid experienced/end of career players to get us up, so if he fails in that this season he hasn't left us with much to work with. Untenable position, definitely.
