  1. Got to allow away fans. Some are decent, some just give an interesting viewpoint and the fuckwits just give us something to insult and shout at!
  2. Give it time! We should always be on the lookout for new players anyway, as we have discussed with the scouting thread
  3. Wes Brown is right sided and they probably wouldn't let him go either, good player though.
  4. Cover for Laursen, surely Delaney, Ridgewell and Cahill are sufficient for 'cover', what we need is someone who can challenge Laursen for a place in the defence.
  5. Pearce is too inexperienced. someone like McClaren would be a better choice at international level.
  6. Hendrie is a better attacking player but maybe he wont improve any further. With Davis at least we might get a player who will go right up there.
  7. Seems to crop up a bit so why not check out opinion on this? I'd call it Witton Lane again myself. Some say Ron Saunders/Charlie Aitken/Eric Houghton...
  8. Suppose so! Give him a go, of course he's bound to choose us ahead of Arsenal isn't he?!
  9. I'd like to see Dean Ashton in a Villa shirt but latest talk is of 7.5m
  10. How much would he cost? £10m? Chelsea wouldn't let him out on loan anyway.
  11. not when ridgewell's there! he still is major in their plans
  12. I've always wanted Robbie Keane to come, but that aint gonna happen is it!
  13. Kanoute has just signed for villa, sevilla that is for 4.4m. Shame, he could have done a job for us. Same as Ellington. We always seem to miss out on good players.
  14. I think JPA will come good for us this season. On the large people have read too much into the Bolton game, give the man a chance! If, by Christmas, say, he hasn't hit 5 then maybe he could be criticised. Him & MB up front SKP to cover and LM as well
  15. I think that SKP and JPA will be happy to fight it out. Angel's form needs to improve and Phillips is experienced enough to put up with coming off the bench occassionally
  16. i wouldn't call him a 'specialist left back' but a good McCann -like def mid.
  17. Perhaps, given Jlloyd's recent poor form, we should look at a brand new left back altogether. There is (unlikely) talk of Wayne Bridge, but perhaps someone fresh could sort it out.
  18. Still think that versatility in a player can be to his detriment, look at Aaron Hughes at newcastle, was used in so many positions across the back that he never had the opportunity to cement a place.
  19. Suppose it could just be the first day n all. DOL did say that they had over-trained in the week. we'll see anyway, wouldn't mind a decent CB, if only to provide more competition for places.
  20. He did? I didn't see him very fit. he was rubbing his knee apparently as if in pain, was really blowing in the last 20 mins, hands on hips, and his injury record speaks for itself.
  21. Don't ever want us buy or sign anyone from them. Hate it. God knows how the Scouse do it all the time. and Andy Cole to Man City, it's like Andy Johnson to Villa. No tar! Agree about Laursen though, looked good enough sometime end last season but yet to prove himself.
