Arrogant aren't you. Westwood only plays in our half which is easy Veretout plays in the opposition half but you obviously know better than the manager
-
Veretout passes forward something Westwood hasn't heard of, corners and free kicks are better and he tackles

At what?

2 games apparently, mind boggling what some people write on here.

It's pretty obvious we're in serious trouble but 32 points from 27 games is not impossible and if our malise is down to TS's ineptitude and if Garde does have something about him then we have a chance

Last season we went on a run, from West Brom away to Newcastle away, of 12 games where we only got 3 points. So we got 35 points from the other 26 games and stayed up, similar to what we'll need this season, so it's not impossible.

It may be daunting but it's not a mess as a club, just on the pitch

Stan's point was that because of Lerner short changing us for so many years he is essentially the man creating the squad.
If he said that Lerner chooses the first 11 then obviously he phrased it wrong but the point was clear nonetheless.
Yes-Pretty obvious what he was getting at
I'm glad Stan was booted from his column.
Regardless of the job you do, you can't publicly slag your employer off.
He did it for free iirc.
Yes-Stated earlier on the show tonight that he wasn't paid for it.
I think he's been a breath of fresh air tonight & would love to be a fly on the boardrooms wall when they discuss this show.
Why would they discuss the rantings of a twisted and bitter man. If he was paid for his column and did Talk Shite for free do you think he'd have the same opinion. Talk Shite is where shock jock's go to die.
Actually, they weren't rantings, they were very well put and very harsh criticisms and questioning of exactly who these people are, what they do exactly and what right do they have to decide who plays for the club. He slaughtered them and rightly so - They are as much to blame, if not more so than the likes of Lambert & Sherwood. They will be discussing it alright-Don't worry about that.
None of them care twopence about Villa, from Lerner to Fox to Reilley.
Collymore has no more idea what happens within Villa Park than you or I do. It is total supposition with no substance at all. We are in this mess because of Sherwood's inept managership..
No we aren't.
You can't blame everything wrong with Aston Villa on a manager who was here barely 8 months.
Erm....yes I can, a manager who cannot halt a run of 6 defeats is not up to the job. It's not very often that teams go on such a losing run in the Prem, its down to rank bad management, naïve tactics, illogical team selections and lack experience.

Lallana, Lovren, Emre Can, Delph, Smalling, Jones, Rojo, Delph, and Delph
They would all walk into our team
So, that isn't what this thread is about, it's about players I think are rubbish

All I want is a manager to come in and play the following team for more than 2 games.
Hutton - Richards - Clark - Amavi
Gana - Veretout
Adama Gil Grealish
Ayew
Would be so good to watch.
Agreed, that's the team I would love to see as well.

He fits in alongside Gana, Westwood and Sanchez cannot run a midfield,
-
Jordan Henderson - Ordinary, journey man, Wouldn't get in the Villa first eleven!
-
Yes because it really is that simple...Sign a striker or open the relegation thread.
We've got to do what we've got to do. We've signed other players I'm sure we can manage striker.
Well we have signed two already, for what, 15 million quid ?
We sold 2 for 35 million
-
If players are leaving then it has to be permanent deals we need the money to buy new and better players, Gabby won't be sold so Kozac it is
-
Needs to come back in for Sundeland in my view, we got dominated in midfield, poor management from sherwood not changing it sooner
For who?
Westwood / Gueye / Sanchez have all put in some good performances this season. Probably our strongest 3 members of the team.
He needs to come in for Gabby, play Grealish behind Gestede/Ayew with Traore coming on as sub 2nd half. To build his match fitness he has to play 90 mins against Notts County
So play 4 central midfielders? With Grealish centrally behind a central striker? We'd have no width at all.
The width comes from the full backs. Bacuna created a number of chances/goals for Benteke with crosses from full back and Amavi has already shown his attacking promise.

Also need to get Lescott in. Head and shoulders above Clark.
So was Scott Dann

If Benteke and Delph had stayed, I think this summer signings would have been Richards, Gana, Amavi and one of Ayew/Traore. The replacements for Delph (Vertout) and Benteke (Gestede) are not up to scratch and it shows.
In your humble opinion of course, but I disagree, Gana was Delph's replacement and then he changed his mind to stay. Gested alone is not Benteke's replacement the window hasn't closed yet. Veretout is Cleverleys replacement and he is an improvement on him
-
He's joined a league where running comes first and then ability, the opposite of where he came from, he'll be ok when we push him forward a bit more.
-
He's had an idiot called Gabby playing with him for 2 games, drop Gabby bring in Grealish, drop Westwood for Traore, and play Gestede up front with Ayew just off him, Veretout and Gueye as holding midfielders. I think playing with width will help him.

I would guess he had more touches than any villa player today and made more forward passes than anyone on the pitch
