  1. I was sat about 4 feet from Hutton for the spurs game when Rose clattered him (ironically with a Hutton like tackle) I was convinced he'd broken his leg at first. I think he puts the effort in but needs more protection in front

Some games he actually looked decent marauding forwards

    I think that as well.
  2. Bale is brilliant, Oxlaide-Chamberlain looks superb, Wilshere I'm not so keen on.

Gardner doesn't really impress me and hasn't really started well, it's very early days to be writing him off though.

Daniel Johnson always impresses me in all the youth level highlights I've seen, more so than Gardner at the same level.

  3. I don't know why he doesn't just change the key of the songs to suit his naturally ageing voice. Or just drop everything a semi tone or whole step. That might help, rather than trying to hit the notes he could in his twenties.

  4. He's meant to be good, but he's shown nothing, absolutely nothing so far. I can't even find a decent game for the youths on Youtube, Daniel Johnson always seems the star of the show.

  5. after two indifferent seasons

I don't know if you've heard this but last season he was statistically our most potent attacking threat.

we have much more of that, he has to be sent on his way

    Really?
  6. Well stats can be misleading, but when you're watching the second highest scorer, who has the most assists and who individually created most of the top scorers goals, whilst having the second best goal/assist combined ratio in the squad; if you're won eyes are missing all that, maybe you're just a numpty :P.

  7. Okay. so if we are going with goals and assists he is on the same as Bent with 11.

But bent did that over 25 games to Gabbys 36 so

    Bent G/A per game = 0.44

    Gabby G/A per game = 0.31

Of course that means he's actually third because

    Keane G/A per game = 0.57

Keane's record only covers five games, I'd say that wasn't enough to count. So in essence Gabby does have a 'clue', being the second most potent attacking threat, with most assists, and the second highest goal tally.

  8. Bit of a weird one the whole Makoun saga from start to finish. He was lacklustre on the pitch, if he was the same in training and attitude no wonder he was sent to Greece.

Yet you make excuses for Gabby being lacklustre because of the way the team was set up under Houllier and McLeish, but if we had sent him off on loan I bet you wouldn't have been happy.

I didn't make excuses for Gabby being lacklustre, and I wasn't happy with Makoun going out on loan.
  9. He was undoubtedly poor last season

There's also no room on the pitch for loyalty - teams need to be built on talent, form, and delivery.

He was statistically our most potent attacking threat.

  10. yes I meant the post mortem results. The first and supposedly most reliable concluding he had died of coronary artery disease.

He is no longer registered on the Home Office list of forensic pathologists, and has been suspended twice by the General Medical Council after being found guilty of conducting botched postmortems and falsifying his CV. In one case, Patel is suspected of having conducted an autopsy on the wrong body...His findings in relation to Tomlinson were contradicted by three other forensic pathologists, all of whom agreed that the cause of death was internal bleeding in the abdomen. But Patel – who conducted the first and most important autopsy and discarded the bloody fluid found in Tomlinson's abdomen – was the key witness. It is impossible to know what swayed the jury in their deliberations, but his evidence must have had a bearing on their considerations. The small community of forensic pathologists privately expressed surprise when it first emerged that such a high-profile autopsy had been entrusted to Patel.

Most reliable? Certainly not in terms of professional competence. Perhaps he was thought most reliable in another sense.

Why was he specifically brought in by the City of London police to do this, when he wasn't on the list of pathologists to use? Why did he destroy evidence by discarding body fluids?

yeah I was reading about it last night, in light of what I read, it all seems very suspicious indeed.
  11. I thought the coroner's role was to call for an enquiry/post mortem and present the results of in a report. Anyway whatever the procedure, yes I meant the post mortem results. The first and supposedly most reliable concluding he had died of coronary artery disease.

  12. I still, against my better judgement hold out hope for Fonz. I see lovely touches and great technique, I can't understand why his career has not kicked on. Attitude? who knows.

Carroll? Out of our price range possibly. I think he'd do well, I think we'd have to pay top dollar for it. I wouldn't be too keen on the style of football he'd require.

I keep thinking Berbatov. Better player, better target man, who can hold up the ball and has bags more ability with his feet, not as good with crosses, but hands down better than Carroll, for me.

  13. Forgot about Keane, but that's a very small sample, 5 + (1) games.

I think my case still stands. My case being that Gabby is not clueless, not someone we won't miss. He's had a poor half season, but overall statistically came out better than most over the season. He had a poor season under Houllier, but the season before was second behind Milner on the Goals/Assist combined table.

  14. Well that's conclusive then. His assist/goal combined stats are the highest, his assist/goal ratio is second highest (by my guess), he set up half our leading scorers goals himself, he has most assists and was second top scorer. Clueless.
