Got a soft spot for Everton having been in the city as a student for the past 4 years. I can't stand the red side though. I've always found Evertonians to be decent, bar a couple of morons, but you get them at every club.

It's good to see them kicking on again now, and we will no doubt be competing for the same place come the end of the season. Similar club to Villa with a good history and good fan base. Shame they haven't got the investment as we seem to as I reckon Moyes would do an even better job than he is doing now.

Paul Baron turned James career around at the Villa, he became a top, top goalie at VP. He has a lot to thank that man for.

Listen to the negatives, I know you will, all successes have stumbles along the way. However, the majority of us Villa fans love Martin O'Neill, and we believe in him. One bad result doesn't make a season. The defeat will hurt us all, lets just hope we grow stronger from it. I believe we will.

If they pull out, we have just gained a very good player, who looked seemingly on his way out. Only one winner there imo - Villa. I hope the lad stays. He's not one to cry imo, and he'll get on with it. The only way he will sulk is if Liverpool do have the money, and we are just refusing their bid.

I think the fact that Alonso doesn't seem to be attracting anyone at £15m (now Juve have pulled out) has alot to do with everything going quiet. Even if Liverpool lower their valuation of him, it doesn't make good business sesne - Example - sell Alonso for £11-12m and buy Barry for £18m. I don't think the Liverpool fans would welcome that one bit, and it would stink of a Steven Gerrard 'demanded' signing to me.
