Does that mean Biden is cleared by Trump's lawyer to talk to the military with immunity agreed for said act 🤪

It blows my minds that they are literally arguing this point. If Trump wins the (immunity) case, the most logical thing for Biden  to do, for the future of the USA and the world is to immediately send in seal team 6.

I had to put immunity in brackets so it wasn't mistaken for the hush money case

    Or the slander case

Or the mishandling of secret documents case

    Or the fake electors case

Or one of the fraud cases

Im sure I've missed plenty too.

  2. I'd have What we do in the shadows on the list. Really worked for me. MASH and Cheers would be my US favourites.

I have to admit my brain went to these as the goats though:

    Blackadder

    Porridge

    Only fools and horses

    Red Dwarf

  3. Just back from the game, happy as punch.

From the moment I saw how Bournemouth were set up to play against us, I knew we would score goals today. They pushed the forwards and midfield up against our deep lying defence when we had the ball, but they didn't put any significant high energy pressure on us.

This left a big gap between their midfield and back 4. The Bournemouth back 4 was in a very strange place. They managed to leave a space Infront of them for our advanced midfielders to stand in, AND they left space in behind them for Watkins to run into, which he did with great effect.

If I could pick how a team would set up to play against us it would look a lot like Bournemouth today. They even left significant passing lanes open for our defence to get the ball into midfield. Even at a goal down I wasn't worried, knowing we would inevitably find a way to goal.  It was really enjoyable watching how ruthlessly we exploited their setup though.

  4. Just watch Richards.  At 36 seconds in to this video you will see the lowest effort defending I have ever seen. He easily makes my all time worst ever Villa 11. He is a better pundit than a player though.

This is in no way an endorsement of Richards as a pundit.

Genuinely not watched a single race or quali since the Hamilton / Verstappen fix in 2021.

I'm not really a Hamilton fan, but to have invested so much time (a race weekend is easily 10 hours of tv) to watch it kind of fixed just took away my care for F1, literally overnight.

This was the end for me too. I didn't stop completely, I still catch the odd bit if I've nothing better to do, but the fire went out that day and there has not been a single spark to reignite it since then.

I'd definitely recommend reading all of the books though. There's a LOT of differences between the books and the show, and I do think the penultimate book will get released within a year. The last book probably won't get finished due to the author's age but as said above, someone will finish it for him and all the main plot lines will be written down for them to follow.

I read a couple of the books and honestly found them to be a tedious slog. I read them before the shows and actually thought they would be better as a TV show/movie.

I find Martin's descriptive writing painfully slow as it is so painstaking in it's detail. Plot, character, dialogue etc are all fine, I just can't handle the never ending pages of describing every detail of what everyone is wearing.

I recall the parade leading up to a tournament. Every participant had their armour, shield, cloak, stitching, sword, horse, coat of arms, hair, saddle etc explained in great detail. As it went on for person after person, page after page I found myself bored to tears.

  7. Dune 2 just went into my top ten all time movies. Assuming they get to make Dune 3 I think it will be the best sci-fi trilogy of all time. It's been many many years since I have wanted to see a movie multiple times in the cinema (probably LOTR being the last one). There are so many reasons Dune shouldn't work, so many things that could easily jar you out of the moment, but it is masterfully handled. 100% got lost in this one.

Just a question I’m intrigued about given your view on the above.

At the height of Schwarzenegger popularity and also his interest in politics, if he had created a similar base like Trump would’ve had the same argument as above where the rule would be against a foreign national?

Or a modern day American who has a massive fan base who would follow her to the ends of the earth in Taylor Swift who would be 34 years old at the time of the election but if her fans (assume enough voting Americans) wanted her to be President but she falls foul of the age requirement would say ignore the constitution and let the people vote?

This exact argument played out for real in this election cycle. A naturalised citizen wanted to run, but ultimately failed to get on the ballot as he was considered constitutionally ineligible. His legal argument was actually quite well thought through and persuasive (imo), but I can see why he was ultimately rejected.

    The example

    Quote

COLUMBIA — A federal judge denied a request by a left-wing pundit born in Istanbul to Turkish parents to appear on the South Carolina Democratic presidential primary ballot, rejecting Cenk Uygur's argument that the 14th Amendment overrode the natural-born-citizen clause of the Constitution.

  9. The one that really gets me about Pep is the use of Stones in midfield. I've watched quite a few games this season and Stones is doing ok in there for a CB. The pundits are going crazy for it. It seems to me to be a bit of the emperor's new clothes though.

Stones is slow in transition, he can pass it simple, but in comparison to his team mates he is laboured in possession and I would say the same in comparison to his peers in midfield in the Prem. Against a quick break his positioning is below average and his lack of nimbleness and pace is a significant weakness. Pep gets away with it to a certain extent because of how dominant they are as a team. Stones is playing a similar role to Kamara in our team and I wouldn't swap them if you paid me.

  10. I went for Klopp. Even though I think he is a really good manager.  However, since he announced his leaving Liverpool he has effectively been awarded Sainthood. The crying the wailing the gnashing of teeth, the number of people who are treating this more like a death in the family.  He isn't the Messiah, he's just a really good manager.

I feel the gap between Messianic saviour of the earth and the reality is big enough to make Klopp the most overrated.

Under duress loaded  the boot with rubbish for the tip Tuesday and it is still in there. The other half is borrowing my car later so hoping for  devine intervention and then a bollocking (which i will gladly take if she gets rid)

That is a classic. Although there is a hint of non-cooperation protest in there. Sort of like Gandhi.

And funnily enough, I'm posting here whilst I should be doing something else. Go me!

To be fair it is the nature of the thread. Once upon a time I had a line manager who told me "if you leave everything to the last minute then everything only takes a minute". A real silver lining to procrastinating.

It didn't work as a way of life of course but it did sound good.
