  1. Lille are at 1000mph at the moment. It is very hard to deal with. If we can get through 60 minutes still in the game we can do this.
  2. I like all types of horse, but my favourite is a little tail.
  3. They might as well, in a few months there won't be any Tory MPs to investigate so not much risk.
  4. Anyone else noticed how much Ella Purnell looks like Winnie Cooper from the wonder years? Great show btw. 3 episodes in and quality remains high.
  5. Just watch Richards. At 36 seconds in to this video you will see the lowest effort defending I have ever seen. He easily makes my all time worst ever Villa 11. He is a better pundit than a player though. This is in no way an endorsement of Richards as a pundit.
  6. This was the end for me too. I didn't stop completely, I still catch the odd bit if I've nothing better to do, but the fire went out that day and there has not been a single spark to reignite it since then.
  7. First question I'd ask if I was the police. So you say you were worried that the individual may have had compromising material on you and thought the best response was to send more compromising material?
  8. I read a couple of the books and honestly found them to be a tedious slog. I read them before the shows and actually thought they would be better as a TV show/movie. I find Martin's descriptive writing painfully slow as it is so painstaking in it's detail. Plot, character, dialogue etc are all fine, I just can't handle the never ending pages of describing every detail of what everyone is wearing. I recall the parade leading up to a tournament. Every participant had their armour, shield, cloak, stitching, sword, horse, coat of arms, hair, saddle etc explained in great detail. As it went on for person after person, page after page I found myself bored to tears.
  9. Dune 2 just went into my top ten all time movies. Assuming they get to make Dune 3 I think it will be the best sci-fi trilogy of all time. It's been many many years since I have wanted to see a movie multiple times in the cinema (probably LOTR being the last one). There are so many reasons Dune shouldn't work, so many things that could easily jar you out of the moment, but it is masterfully handled. 100% got lost in this one.
  10. This exact argument played out for real in this election cycle. A naturalised citizen wanted to run, but ultimately failed to get on the ballot as he was considered constitutionally ineligible. His legal argument was actually quite well thought through and persuasive (imo), but I can see why he was ultimately rejected. The example
  11. The one that really gets me about Pep is the use of Stones in midfield. I've watched quite a few games this season and Stones is doing ok in there for a CB. The pundits are going crazy for it. It seems to me to be a bit of the emperor's new clothes though. Stones is slow in transition, he can pass it simple, but in comparison to his team mates he is laboured in possession and I would say the same in comparison to his peers in midfield in the Prem. Against a quick break his positioning is below average and his lack of nimbleness and pace is a significant weakness. Pep gets away with it to a certain extent because of how dominant they are as a team. Stones is playing a similar role to Kamara in our team and I wouldn't swap them if you paid me.
  12. I went for Klopp. Even though I think he is a really good manager. However, since he announced his leaving Liverpool he has effectively been awarded Sainthood. The crying the wailing the gnashing of teeth, the number of people who are treating this more like a death in the family. He isn't the Messiah, he's just a really good manager. I feel the gap between Messianic saviour of the earth and the reality is big enough to make Klopp the most overrated.
  13. Good god Vini Jr is an unlikeable character. Behaving like an absolute clearing in the woods at the moment.
  14. Sheffield look like they want to break a leg or two. There is nothing else left for them to do. I fricking hate teams like that.
  15. That is a classic. Although there is a hint of non-cooperation protest in there. Sort of like Gandhi.
  16. I preferred This Ole House
  17. To be fair it is the nature of the thread. Once upon a time I had a line manager who told me "if you leave everything to the last minute then everything only takes a minute". A real silver lining to procrastinating. It didn't work as a way of life of course but it did sound good.
  18. Damn wish I had written my second post in here sooner. You are the proud owner of 1000 internet points. Spend them wisely
  19. I also have an envelope here with the most obvious comedic response to this thread. The person who's post matches what is in the envelope wins 1000 internet points
  20. Today I am going to clean the bathroom. I'm not doing it because I'm on VT putting off the moment when I get started. This thread is for the jobs/tasks/moments/experiences that you are putting off rather than just getting on with it and grasping that nettle.
  21. Followed quickly by the words war and crime.
  22. I just googled "what is wrong with Rochdale" and I kid you not one of the first headlines I saw was..... Jury warned to beware of prejudice due to Rochdale’s reputation for grooming It should be make Rochdale wait again
